Hello again, Sean. I have the Music Animation Maker for my computer, but it is incredibly slow. I have tried to remove the fast moving instruments from the midi files (e.g. snare drum) , but that does not seem to help. Do you have any tips to make it move more smoothly?
@PrincessLilyMUSIC A glissando is a type of musical device, whereby you run up all of the notes between two other notes. You may have seen this effect in jazz piano music, where at the end of a song they slide their hand down the keys before hitting the last note :D
It´s a really calm, royal and epic atmosphere you made with this tune.
The piano entering at 3:24 is really amazing ^^ Well, it fits very good with the rest of the tune anyway ^^
I don´t know how to describe it in a good way, but I think you picked the right instruments, you had the right volume on them, the right rhythm and everything. It´s just perfect!
@PrincessLilyMUSIC Many thanks! :-) At around 5:13 that rising instrument (the rising line of blue dots) is a harp glissando; I use those a lot, they always seem to spice things up
I am always wary of using the Canon in D chords, because I presume people will notice and the piece will sound very similar. However, I did not notice any reference to Canon in this piece! Very well done. This sounds beautiful.
@XiaohahaPwnz Hahaha... yep! I spent a few minutes trying to harmonize that melody differently before I realized the pachelbel canon chords fit perfectly.
Absolutely wonderful! May I have permission to use this music, In the Valley of the Ancient Kings, for a video I've recently made? It is for a children's unicorn ballad poem I've written. Been listening to your music for the past weeks and just love it! I just today noticed AnimeLuvr19 used your music, for one of her unicorn videos. Obviously some of your pieces of music have those very magical qualities with respect to unicorns and other magical creatures! Keep creating! We love it!

I just adore the way your music has that.. how to say it... but the fairy in the forest feel. It is so hard to find music like that i actually LIKE. Love these lullabys though.. Don't tell anyone but i hum them alot when i'm doing stuff like dishes and such. XD
Yessss. I'm so glad there's a new song out. I love your music, and I love how you haven't drastically changed your music style when you were away. Very nice work <3.
is there a way to give the stringed instruments a little bit of release? the low attack on the samples stands out and it ruins an otherwise beautiful flow. i love this piece. the character is very nice. the textures are attractive and the instrumentation is very thematic. keep it up :)
@Treijim Many thanks! :-) I'm not quite sure what you mean by "release" but there's a ton of MIDI control tweaking one could do... can probably also be affected by what speakers or headphones one is listening with, as well as just preferences and tastes
@WizardWalk sorry for the confusion. by 'release', i mean how long the sound lasts after it has been 'released' (after the string has been strung, the breath has left the horn, etc.) the sound continues for a very short moment. in stringed instruments, adding\increasing a release to the sound sample allows it to flow smoothly, instead of the harsh, obvious, sudden stop between samples as the next sample picks up the next note. is it making sense yet? hahaha
@Treijim ah, yes, there are probably some settings one could play around to help with that, but I've always had that kind of problem with GPO strings, especially with quick glissandos, arpeggios. I think in a real orchestra the notes would blend nicer because there'd actually be a number of real string musicians changing notes at very slightly different times, whereas with samples you can only work to "fake" it. I could probably "fake" it better if I tried, but I guess I've gotten used to it...
@WizardWalk yeah man, i have the same issues with edirol orchestral. i feel your pain. there are two techniques you can try which i sometimes use. one is to have the notes you want to blend start very slightly early, so they literally overlap the previous note. get this timing right and the sound blends a little more. alternatively, in edirol orchestral (dunno about gpo) you can alter attack/decay/sustain/release of all instruments. i raise attack and lower release, and it sounds more natural.
@WizardWalk youre welcome. im definitely not trying to be condescending; only trying to offer suggestions for improvements, because its hard to flaw work like this!
wow... it's so.. so soothing. And so mystic. Always a pleasure to hear new music come out, it allows for the imagination to grow and thrive. Well done.
For some reason, this one -- beautiful, as always, when all the melodies have developed -- makes me think of a low-flying camera over rainforests of South America, at least for the first 2/3
@UnfamiliarPlace I guess it is because of those instruments from the Garritan World Library sound a bit more... "jungly" than ordinary orchestral instruments? Since the kings are ancient, I guess one could always say that rainforests have grown in their valley since they reigned :-)

I think I had an eargasm at 5:01...
Which instrument ascends at 5:13? It´s perfect!
PERFECT!

@WizardWalk It sure did O_O It really sounded more epic with the Harp ascending. Harp Glissando is a type of Harp, right? ^^'

@24Pianist Thanks! I usually don't set out to use the Canon in D chords, but they manage to pop up anyway; they just seem so natural

Tour garritan samples ALWAYS sound so much better than mine. You MUST do a tutorial on how you set your garritan up!! :P

@Rodier1128 I know, eh! What do you use? My theory is Overture allows better interaction with the samples...
