Unfortunately some Spyware & malicious viruses are immune to virus removing tools even after your scanning tool has done the job , to override a Stubborn Virus [on win-xp] you must restart on "Safe mode" when restarting press F8 repeatedly until a boot menu appears - on Safe mode Go to Start menu /Accessories/system tools/ select system restore then select which day you want to restore your system to, this method has always worked for me.

@worldwildwest System restore can be a lifesaver in certain situations. I went onto an Anime fanbase website that a friend recommended, then BOOM! Porn all over the place, my desktop was hijacked, and rouge software covered my screen -_____-

I did everything I could, including uploading anti-virus from a CD and USB plugs, but nothing worked, so my mom did system restore then ran all kinds of anti-virus and my computers life was saved <3

personal anitvirus is also a FAKE virus protection system. i had it on my old computer when it randomly popped up, and i thought it was a windows program, so dont install that on your computer if it ever pops up because you cant get rid of it. at least i got another better computer though! yay

Oh yes limewire is a very malacious program. P2P is one of the most dangerous areas of the web. People disguise the .EXE files with .MP3 or .AVI formats. Just please everyone stay away from Torrent, and limewire. Also have a All in one package of an AntiVirus program like Norton or McAfee actually free to comcast users. Though yes if you do get an infection it's better to reformat. You can't take the risk that a rootkit can be lodged somewhere in your system that an antispyware cant trace.

Ugh...I've been attacked by a Trojan virus a few weeks ago. It wasn't cool, but luckily, my mom knew this tech guy who got rid of the virus.

One thing I would like to suggest if someone experiences of being attacked by a virus, worm, or other tracking program:

First of all do not click on anything, don't try to download any of those anti-virus programs, turn off the computer and get help from a reliable and trustworthy person to get rid of the annoying program.
