  • What size is the filter? What are the dimensions?

  • They were a cool-looking replacement for the Tempo/Topaz...It's just that the weird elliptical styling, just like its mid-sized DH101 cousin (Taurus/Sable), just didn't go off well with peeps during this time...

  • nice sweet Tour dude

  • still a contour.....

  • @svtlincoln

I think he probably knows this.

  • @joe2go16 doubt it.

  • hey man I have the same car, other than the intake was the car stock? just curious because if I can get my baby to sound that good I will be one happy camper :)

  • @ARIDORDUBSTEP yep all stock

  • What is the MPG with a cold air intake on this car, because my car sucks gas like a crack head and with the gas going up in price it really sucks now.

  • @anuthehigh i dont have this car anymore but after i installed this i was getting like 18.5 in the city

  • @CrazyEskimo1212 oh ok well glad you don't have the car anymore, but i'll try to keep mines as long as i can just wish it had better gas mileage.

  • what adapter did you have to get to allow fro the first air flow sensor to fit and be functional? im planning on doing the same mod, jst wanted to know to save some time

  • @blinkfan227 honestly i don't know because my bro-in-law works at a car dealership so he picked up the part for me

  • @CrazyEskimo1212 ok thanks anyways

  • how come my contour doesn't sound like that? haha lol

  • Did it improve on gas mileage? I have a 2000 Ford contour SE and just wanted to know.

  • Good reving

  • When you installed your filter did it throw a code on the mass air flow sensor? Cause I have the exact same setup and mine has a maf sensor code now.

  • How much did that cost you? I have the same whip and wana put a cold air intake on it.

  • thats all you added to get that sound

  • @CrazyEskimo1212 I'm guessing the reason your intake sounds ridiculously gorgeous/better than other intake videos for the Contour is because you went with the RE-0930? Or is there another "trick" to it? I'm trying to put a little bit of work into my '99 Contour SE as well =).

  • @josefbud yep thats exactly right! re-0930

  • @CrazyEskimo1212 Wow that's crazy that just a different model of a filter makes such a huge difference. Have you had the common problem with the fuel pump/fuel filter? Or at least the common problem of overall "stuttering and stalling when under 1/2 to 1/4 tank of gas"?

  • @josefbud im not sure i think i have a cylinder misfiring because it shakes terribly now whenever i try to accelerate. also my a/c is broken and i live in south florida so im not too happy with it right now. Hoping to get it fixed pretty soon

  • @CrazyEskimo1212 ah yeah I have to replace my blower motor for mine - only the off setting and the highest setting works =\

  • @josefbud I have that problem the car will shut off on you while driving once past 1/4 of a tank of gas and also my fuel pump died on me awhile back but i got a new one put in asap.

  • @CrazyEskimo1212 dude how did u get that on? i got like 4 different sensors on my contour. My air filter box does not close all the way cause of a missing clamp. so i figured what the hell i wanted a cold air intake anyways and the intake is different on the inside than your average car. Or should i say honda shitvic

  • @orimabu i have no idea bro my brother in law did it all for me lol

  • :O !

  • wtf omg !!!!!!!

  • What model number filter is that?

  • RE-0930 with the 3" clamp on

  • eskimo:

i was wondering if you have an adapter for your air intake temperature sensor, because i also have a contour with a spector cold air intake, but it has a ford focus adapter. how did you install yours?

  • well if you look closely you can see that yes there is an adapter idk what one for sure my brother in law is a parts manager at a ford dealership so he was able to pick it up for me. and it did have an adapter for the sensor but it only worked for like a week and then one day when i was accelerating "check engine" started blinking and ever sense its been on so i guess it slipped out of place.

  • yeah, i tried an open air element on a cougar 97, but i took away to much length from the mass air meter. for some reason, cars lose power when its to close, i added a pipe from autozone, and the power came back. i made it pull cold air from outside, makes better power than hot engine air.

  • its not a cold air intake unless it pulls air from the inner fender, all cars come stock with a cold air intake, this is just a conical air intaike, hot air intake.

  • @steeldragon20002000 did i say that it was a cold air intake? i dont remember saying that

  • no, i never said u did, just saying most people put these on, and call them cai. it should be sucking in air from outside to benefit more. i did try putting on on a cougar , it lost power, but i never knew taking lenth away from th mass air meter loses power.

  • oh well i have gotten great power improvements so maybe you just did it wrong.

  • heya, eskimo do u have a turbo on tha shit?, sound like it.. (got the same engine) but european ford contour

  • nope just got the high flow air intake on there i wish i could turbo it but the moneys not there for it right now haha

  • i might beat you to the turbo :P then we can beat the svt's haha superchargers vs turbo's

  • the mondeo! :P

  • pana boha

  • huh?
