Capcom, if you want your games last longer, put VERY HARD bosses. I want the difficulty of Infinity Mijion with only the mega buster (fighting very hard) in all games.

You put the time to program a boss. Program your bosses so that they are very hard to beat and you will have a long game.

So annoying, you have to use Concrete Shot on the lasers at the start and Galaxy Man, yet you need it to take out the second part of Wily.

1st part: Bounce explosive eggs back at Wily.

2nd part: Concrete Shot

3rd part: Plug Ball

You don't NEED to use it for any of those things. You do for the lasers if you're avoiding damage, but personally, I just waltz right through 'em and defeat the easy Robot Masters first to refill my health. Then I save all the concrete for Wily.

Well, all Mega Man games are overrated in terms of difficulty (except the first one). What made this title stand out was it's return to platforming action. You couldn't just rush everything; you needed skill and patience to preserve, just like when I was a kid. However, I guess you really needed to have grown up with Mega Man to fully savor this title.

I can see that, but I've always just loved platforming in general. So I guess I got slightly less appreciation for this game. I wish Mega Man wasn't the only series to have new games that truly return to the 8-bit style. Adventure Island and Mario tried, but they didn't cut it.

@InvaderZim897 Well they haven't done another 8 bit style mario game. The new bros games just borrow some of the old mechanics. What I want to see is a Super Mario Bros 5 (World is 4 in JP) completely oldschool done in 3's style.

Now I know Dr. Wily is hard but please don't complain he's the hardest (but maybe the 2nd annoying boss Galaxy man takes the cake) in the game because the blob is so worse like I used up 8 lives 8 E tanks an 1/2 damage reduction and flip top. Yah for Dr Wily I just used 1 M tank at my first try and I've died at Jewle man and hornet man so I'm not a mega man pro

The final boss on this game is so hard that I had to use the gaurd power-up, mystery tank and an enery tank! Oh well, at least it's a challenge!

But I never thought of using concrete shot for the second part of the wily machiene!

I just got the game on Thursday, and beat it 3 times over the weekend. Great fun! Wily's 3rd form can go to hell, too. I'm down to using only 2 E-Tanks for the whole fight. Didn't know about plug ball, used arm cannon.

What's really cruel is that there's no E-Tanks in the last Wily stage. Used your last one, died, and can't beat Wily without 'em? Tough tits, you're restarting the Wily stages!

the game reminds me some aspects from megaman 8,cause,if you use some of the robot masters weakspot(likejewelman,magmaman­,galaxyman),you cause them to suffer a seconday effect,for example:when you use tornado blow agaist magmaman,his projectiles blows up,and his power atack decrease

I think Magma Bazooka works better against Wily 3, it deals the same damage I think, but you can actually hit him when he's mid-air.

I finished MM9 in two sittings over 2 days that is about the same as when I finished MM3 in 1993. To everyone complaining about the difficulty of MM9:

1. Difficulty is (somewhat) offset by the amount of items available in the store. This also adds an element of strategy to the game.

2. Weapons like the gem shield and galaxy bomb are ridiculously strong when used properly.

3. MM9 is for hardcore fans of the series. Hence the difficulty level.

well i only had to defeat wily's 3rd and final form left but unfortunately due to running out of health items and it was hard for me to dodge his attacks, i couldn't do it : (. makes me wish the game would have access to the shop one last time b4 facing wily's 3 forms or maybe save after completing each stage lol. i guess capcom doesn't want to give some sort of fairness at all to the gamers out there : /. i know its good for some games to have some sort of challenge but jeez capcom went to far

He is conserving the weapon's energy to use it in the fight against Wily Form 2. After all, this is one of the hardest Wily battles in the entire series.

(The worst part is, though...that Wily Form 3's weakness is the f'n PLUG BALL...a weapon that's almost entirely ground-based...unless you're directly in the opponent's face.)

Personally, I use uncharged Magma Bazooka shots against a few of the 8 bosses when I'm out of energy for their weakness weapon, or when I want to conserve energy for it.
