TAG are a branch of the police force dude, you apply for the TAG after you have done a minimum of 2 years policing and score hell high on sum test, read it on the aussie police site

Best in the world at defence put simply. Can defeat SFs because usually SFs attack airfields as they are behind enemy lines. They use alot of heavy weapons and seek and destroy command posts to achieve this. Best job in the airforce(better than pilot) one downside is when you aren't doing anything you have to do firearms training for other people like teach them. But I saw one bloke first thing in the morning with a bottle of bundy in his hand so its a good job mate.

TAG E and TAG W are the same thing just operate in their repsective sides of Australia. Members of TAG are drawn from the veteran members of the SASR and Commando Special Forces as well. TAG SF operators are a company in the same battalion as 4RAR but seperatley fulfil the 'Black Role' of counter terrorism. This adreses security concerns for things APEC or Olympics IN Aus. The other companies fulfil the 'Green Role' of higher end war fighting lik the Spec Operations Task Group in Afghanistan.

I will disagree, Russia, UK and China have just as many if not more up there. The US will only be the super=-power for a few more years, China is taking over, and even they are slowing down too.

TAG E, TAG W and ASIO have all being involved in operations and raids in Australia that has stoped terrorist acts, (e.g. the planed bombing of the 2005 AFL Grand Final) so we're not really behind on intell gathering.

And the best CT really depends on their attack, be it bombing or hostage taking.

We have the best troops TAG, 4RAR, IRR, SPG, etc.

However the National security we have is nowhere near as good as USA or GB.

If you are a digger you should know just look at your base.

This is how I beleive a situation would pan out:

Terrorists plan to attack.

Terrorists succeed in their plan due to lack of security.

Up to 1 week later TAG, 4RAR or SPG capture or kill all terrorists without any casualties.

But prevention is better than cure.

Firstly some SF units are larger and involved in more dangerous situations so undoubtedly some will lose more men. Also if you judged by what they have done the British SAS would be judged the best, times change, unfortunately as of late they have been badly managed and they have lost some credibility.
