grateful for everything, grateful for st. etienne, imagine all the people that do not know of this band . what kind of life do they live ? their sad world is far from this.
Sarah Cracknell is the yummiest, and most divine lookin' lil' thing, I have ever seen walk Planet Earth. Seriously. Look at her. God was apparently paying attention the day he made her. Ouch...it almost hurts to look at her. Saint Etienne rocks!
Too bad the melody is entirely based on the folk song "Silver dagger"... "Boy scouts of America" on the same album is also a melody called "La dame de coeur" in a French song by Nana Mouskouri. On 'Tiger Bay' only Stanley/Wiggs are credited as "composers" of these tracks. Not much of a Saint Etienne album to be honest. By the way, where is Bob in this performance?
I love Saint Etienne, I wish I could see them just once in America. They are the true meaning of alternate music with a 69's TWIST! Just awesome, they have so much good material not just their main albums but all the collections with songs not released on their studio albums!
Fantastic LIVE Like a Motorway, amazing song and great talent. I still can`t understand why they were`nt bigger. But thats how it is with quality music...
Thanks for posting this, I was standing screen left by the stage (it started to bloody rain!) Had seen these guys a few weeks before at Southampton Uni as well, what a great year...
This is fantastic!!!!!!!

The ultimate show for me would be St. Étienne and Portishead. A Mexican-American can only dream...

Remember seeing this on the telly and spending most of my time transfixed on her nipples.

@dirkbogarde44 Notice how Sarah checks to make sure they are looking perky enough at 0.55 to 0.56... the consummate entertainer!

Sarah Cracknell saw me through my teenage years. Just rediscovered her - she may well see me through my old age too!

Where was Bob that day?
BTW, thanks for sharing the video. :)

nice, but the 50m of 'security' between the band and crowd ruins it.
