  • Frankie sang with my ex husbands group The Gleams before he cut this record. He lived in Wantagh near the high school off Wantagh Ave. His manager was a very unlikable man named Steve Morroco.

  • @MadelineBunnie Many thanks for the information!!!

  • Wonderful song.

  • @PerToms Glad you like it!

  • I got his 45 from a girl I dated from Wantagh he had a great voice and I remember she sang with a local girl group. Her name was Linda her brother was Frankie Love (not real name) he was a great talent sorry he never made it still love "First Star"

  • skyliz1: Was he really your brother?

  • this was my brother, sadly he passed i hadnt heard his music for years amazed this is on you tube, well frankie would be chuffed to know he had so many fans, wish i could have met his son kyle. alot of water has gone under this bridge. best wishes kyle your aunt sky

  • One of Frankie's sons is Kyle Jason, a singer/ actor from Roosevelt, NY. I have directed a bunch of music videos for him and we just finished a feature film. We use MOON OF LOVE during the end credits, but the only copy we have was one that Frankie made himself to a tape. If anyone has this record please let me know. I'm trying to get a better recording of it.

  • After hearing this 45 I was interested in what happened to Frankie Love? He had a good voice, did he just stop and give up or what, tell Kyle that people are still interested in his fathers music. I wish him continued success.

  • i do ...kyle knows it.. though i am glad this is out there . i have concerns as someone stole masters. now i am finding his copywrited work on the net and being sold on cds. its one thing for kyle to use. but no one else but kyle should profit from this work.

  • Sadly, if Frankie didn't have a royalities contract, he his heirs are out of luck. Very sad to hear that he is gone, he had a good voice. I have a copy of first star. Moon of Love is harder to find.

  • Never heard of Frankie Love, but this song is good, I can't seem to find anything on him currently. Is he still singing? I heard that his songs were big hits in Philly......was he a local singer? Either way, he's good.......

  • Frankie Love's real name was Frank Montanero I knew him about 30 years ago. He lived in Woodstock, New York and Sea Isle City, New Jersey. He also recorded 'First Star', 'Save Her Love For Me', and 'Stranger At The Dance'

  • this is his sister - who is this?

  • A new one for me Sandra, I liked it! Thanks... FrAnKiE

  • Nothing is known about Frankie Love. The song is from 1962.

  • Now this is doo-wop music at it's finest. I've never heard of Frankie Love nor this song until today when ricknelson69 the maker of this video introduced me to this song from his fabulous collection of oldies music. What became of Frankie and when did this song make it's appearance to the world???

  • Mooning away ....... :)
