If I'm not mistaken, didn't the Cubs shortstop Gonzalez (I think his first name was Alex--correct me if I'm wrong on this) boot a ground ball for a VERY COSTLY ERROR later in that same inning? If at least one out was recorded on that grounder, the Cubs would have been out of that top of the 8th inning with a 3-2 lead on the Marlins instead of being down 8-3.
