I've owned both and will take both but I've honestly had better experience with a Ford, every Chevy I've owned has been nothing but problems and honest to god, I've never owned a Chevy that made it to the state line. But Other people may have had the exact opposite experience. It really just depends on the truck. The 3 Fords I've owned might have been flukes while the 9+ Chevies I've owned may have just been bad luck.

Yeah i had my f250 for 2 years now has never gotten me stuck in snow while plowing. Never gave me a problem with 4000 pounds of brick. MY 2500 gmc.... garbage always in the shop for problems with 4x4

For those of you too lazy to do research, Ford needed help with their diesel from International. Once they finally went out on their own they built the wonderful 6.0 with all it's head gasket problem glory. GM did build the Duramax with the help of Isuzu originally. It is now built and updated exclusively by GM. Oh and it's made in AMERICA. Ford's Powerjokes are made in Mexico........ So much for that whole Ford is American and GM isn't thing

As for the trucks, I've seen 1/2 tons pull out 3/4 tons. GM, Ford, and Dodge each pulling out the other brands. When it comes to getting stuck and pulling someone out, it has as much, if not more, to do with the driver as it does the brand of vehicle. Oh, and the type of tire on the vehicle also makes a big difference
@rewind48 My friend has a 1500 and we drive through soft sand like that all the time. He usually uses 2wd and he's only had to use his 4wd low on very rare occasions. They're strong trucks and I can feel the torque kick in every time it switches into 4x4. But I prefer Fords myself. My Explorer had the same tranny oil for 5 years and still shifts smooth after I changed it a few months ago. Every car has it's limits and that Chevy reached its limit.

from what ive seemed to have learned from all the truck my friends have owned and that ive seen on youtube is that powerstrokes are mostly the strongest but slowest, duramax's are usually the weakest but fastest, while dodge falls in the middle of each catagory. im sure someone will bitch me out for this but hey dont blame me, blame the stats. if u ask me all 3 types of trucks are amazing in there own ways and no single truck is king of all the others.

@tony312d569l Look, i own a 2004 Ford f-250 6.0L Diesel, had to get it chipped out cuz it was so weak when towing, Especially up a slight hill it would just shit itself. The Duramax and cummins engine are WAY more powerful than ford. It's mind boggling that ford seems to have the most trucks on the road. Dont get me wrong though, in the oil fields all you see pretty much is FORD because chevy and dodge's suspension cant handle rough terrain. But that's all that ford has on GMC and dodge.

I've spoken with 5 people who used to be die hard ford diesel fans and they all agreed that even the older fords were gutless compared to the duramax and cummins. My truck has 3.73 gearing and it really has to work to haul my bobcat around on a 14' goose neck dump trailer.

Ford has rated above Toyota in quality which gives them the highest rank over the other brands too. It really makes Toyota look bad when they are having all of the recalls and Kia/Hyundai are currently outselling them w/out any recalls. I don't like Korean or Jap brands, I prefer to support my domestics esp Ford.

its a 94 with a 7.5L 460, I need to replace the fuel pump but its been a pretty good little truck and I've grown up with fords and never really had a problem. It doesn't matter what kind of truck you have, it depends on how you maintain it and drive it. And how can you tell I never went to school?

from what ive seemed to have learned from all the truck my friends have owned and that ive seen on youtube is that powerstrokes are mostly the strongest but slowest, duramax's are usually the weakest but fastest, while dodge falls in the middle of each catagory. im sure someone will bitch me out for this but hey dont blame me, blame the stats. if u ask me all 3 types of trucks are amazing in there own ways and no single truck is king of all the others.

Looks here. This whole back and forth shit is a waste of time. I drive a silverado and I am getting an f-150 fort next truck. It's ford and chevy versus the japs not ford vs chevy. I'm not getting into brand loyalty. If you design and build in America, FINE BY ME. My thing is that the F-150 TODAY is a far better built truck than anything I've seen delivered to a dealership by any other auto manufacturer. If in a few years chevy offers a better product, I'm interested....and vice versa....p

@tony312d569l Look, i own a 2004 Ford f-250 6.0L Diesel, had to get it chipped out cuz it was so weak when towing, Especially up a slight hill it would just shit itself. The Duramax and cummins engine are WAY more powerful than ford. It's mind boggling that ford seems to have the most trucks on the road. Dont get me wrong though, in the oil fields all you see pretty much is FORD because chevy and dodge's suspension cant handle rough terrain. But that's all that ford has on GMC and dodge.

@huntman303 I find that hard to believe considering every one i know that owns a ford is switching over to GMC or Dodge. Including myself, My next truck certainly wont be a ford. I've spoken with 5 people who used to be die hard ford diesel fans and they all agreed that even the older fords were gutless compared to the duramax and cummins. My truck has 3.73 gearing and it really has to work to haul my bobcat around on a 14' goose neck dump trailer.

I meant that in a bad way. I don't like them. I think Ford and Chevy are currently putting forth the most effort to improve their lineups and it shows, Mostly in Ford. Ford has rated above Toyota in quality which gives them the highest rank over the other brands too. It really makes Toyota look bad when they are having all of the recalls and Kia/Hyundai are currently outselling them w/out any recalls. I don't like Korean or Jap brands, I prefer to support my domestics esp Ford.

its a 94 with a 7.5L 460, I need to replace the fuel pump but its been a pretty good little truck and I've grown up with fords and never really had a problem. It doesn't matter what kind of truck you have, it depends on how you maintain it and drive it. And how can you tell I never went to school?
