Please try it - It's the lastr one

I will name it now 'Michel'

His father Tony lives 10 minutes from my place here :)

  • Absolute the most amazing after Brazilian Like

    MANY THUMBS UP

I'm going to try this what he does - not the brilliant RH but the fantastic Chaos :):):)

Please THUMB UP my OBAMA BLUES on my opening page

  • I wish I could hear more of the shaker! The guys seems to be havin' a ball playing there :)

  • Questo è dio!!

  • Glad to see Jack DeJohnette and Cecil McBee (from the classic Charles Lloyd quartet of 1966) stoking the fires underneath Michel.

  • almost properly cut ;)

  • This solo is so intensely beautiful that is has brought tears to my eyes.

  • This clip is just wonderful. It seems to have a message. Michel's solo is truly amazing. I really will have to dig out my old VHS tape of 'One Night with Blue Note' and convert it to DVD. I do agree with 'mctelord' that the whole performance is even better but in the meantime, thanks so much for posting this clip.

  • nice ! ですね.

  • Michel Petrucciani! There'll never be another like him! So much spirit in the tiny body! Such powerful hands. Such beautiful playing! How I wish you were still here...

  • Never has something so religiously beautiful come from such a wracked and fragile body as the music of Petrucciani. A triumph of the human spirit.

  • that's jazz....

  • @hugeinjapanmusic Yeah, I wanted to say the same and then I saw your comment... :D

  • @AnryK2690 yep!! and It's harder and harder to hear bands like this nowadays

  • @hugeinjapanmusic Oh, sadly, you are right. Today's jazz and many others went nowhere but to noise.

  • Petrucciani. Un de mes pianistes de jazz favori. Que Dieu vous bénisse ...

  • hahaha 2:22

    love charles lloyd

  • Anyone know what year this was recorded?

  • It was recorded in February 1985 - it's part of the incredible 'One night with Blue Note' concert for the relaunch of the label.

Michel's solo is unbelievable but it loses something here, being taken out of the context of the performance as a whole

  • @mctelord Charles lloyd droped out of the music business to meditate michel petruciani found him in the woods and talked him into recording again

  • you could repeat this clip a thousand times, it'll never get old =)

  • yeah man!
