They also referred to "GNN" (CNN) as trashy... It's not like they didn't refer to Fox News' major competitor as trashy as well. Oh but I suppose it's fine if CNN is Grouch News Network all Trash and Stinky things all the time?
'how dare these cartoons speak down to the mighty right wing party, these liberals are trying to undermine my authority and brainwash my child into thinking that they have FREE REIGN over their opinion and choose the left wing party, or worse, they might VOTE FOR A DEMOCRAT! i cant let this happen' thought process of angry bloggers
Ironic that Fox News gets mad at that weak satire but don't seem to mind when The Simpsons has quotes like "I'm Rupert Murdoch, the Billionaire Tyrant!" That specific quote was even said by Rupert Murdoch himself in the episode Sunny, Cruddy Sunday. And what about when Family Guy compared the McCain/Palin ticket to the Nazi party? Yes, it did get some attention from Fox but not a full-on rant.
well sesame street always had jokes like that, so parents can enjoy it too. i think it's clever :) they should be happy, being mentioned on sesame street is an honor !!!!
Why put politics in children's shows? Because millions of parents are "forced" to watch this with their kids because it is the best show on TV for kids 5 and under, and has been for 40 years. It is something to entertain the parents as well as the kids. What if they had TNN... Trash News Network? Would that be funny then? It is a joke... and the same joke. It's not like they said anything that people's complaints would lead one to believe. They said Pox news is a trashy news channel. Relax!
I'm republican, so I spot media bias all the time. This is NOT A BIG DEAL compared to other things I have seen. I don't know why conservatives are getting all excited about this clip. Every time I watch Fox, I see they aren't afraid of poking a little fun at themselves. Watch The Simpsons for example. They are always poking fun at Fox, and I think it's hilarious. As soon as someone else does it however, everyone goes into a temper tantrum about liberals. Chill.
I would love to have Fox News interview 10,000 children under 5 and see if they can find one that isn't a relative that has actually HEARD of Fox News.
I wouldn't watch it though. That channel is way too trashy.
Ever wonder why there is such a big market for right wing extremist ? Seems like it's very easy to excite the violent and hate filled masses with simple rhetoric. And yet, so many are willing to listen. hum? Does anybody remember hate filled fanaticism? Nazi's perhaps?the similiarities between Limbaugh + Hitler are scary! both are:racist; right wing extremist ; willing to glorify power and both seduce the masses with hate filled rhetoric (try looking the word up) idiot conservatives
I have NO IDEA how you keep this tough guy attitude. You people aren't rugged individualist roping cattle and working construction, you're biatchy little children who complain about farking SESAME STREET!!
Ever since Newt Gingrich shut down the senate because Clinton made him sit at the back of the bus, the GOP has been run by 5 year old girls.
I am truly glad to see we are on the same level. I consider myself a conservative Democrat. Agree with many fiscal policies of both parties, and quality of life issues of both parties as well. Maybe it is because I agree and disagree with POV from both parties that I can spot bias when I see it. Many many news channels are biased, but ONLY the "talk shows" like Oreilly and Larry King. Honestly, I wish there were a true third party, "Independence Party" which blend the ideals of both I mentioned.
Hahaha go Sesame Street but it figures that Fox News would get so damn steamed so okay to Conservatives not only does the bible, the media, and the American people ahvea liberal bias but now Sesame Street? Come on! No kid is going to watch that and say "I want to be a liberal now" get real O'Reilly, Beck, and Hannity the Three Horsemen, although when you think about it, aren't they already children that refuse to grow up?
I'd rather them have a liberal bias than have Sesame Street teach children that immigrants are bad, if a country looks at us funny, then we are obligated to attack them.
Sheeit, for my two cents this doesn't go far enough, especially when you consider the percentage of Americans who decry evolution, think Sarah Palin was the saving grace of the nation, and still can't wrap their minds around the fact that a "negro" was elected President of the United States. Kudos to you, Sesame Street. And many happy returns!
PBS will always have a liberal bias. Conservatives view expression as something that belongs to the private citizen and shouldn't be federally funded while liberals want to tax in order to forward policies. It's in PBS' best interests to promote liberal candidates/ideals who will in turn fund them through the second source of funds-your tax dollars.
The same capitalism that makes insurers want a profit is the capitalism that makes crackheads want free healthcare. It's called "profit motive".
YAY! Of course Sesame Street has a liberal bias - it's home-grown in NYC and deals with real people and teaches kids to care about their world and everyone in it. Liberal!
Actually, some would argue that wanting future generations to think for themselves rather than being brainwashed by the television is quite self-less. Sure, I wouldn't mind having all people believe exactly as I do, but freedom is more important to me than stability through mindless obedience.
I see nothing wrong with watching a variety of news channels, including Fox, and then making up my own mind-- and I will continue to do this. Not watching Fox leaves you open to being brainwashed on the other side, considering the liberal slant of the other news organizations. Also, Fox tends to have many stories that other organizations miss or ignore-- hence why many other news organizations and the White House have now appointed people to specifically watch Fox and see what they're saying.
of course the white house should have someone watching fox news --every president should know its enemy. You are right fox news does a great job with storys no one else will carry like obama birth certifacate and if obama is really a muslim ... thankfully most americans find fox news trashy news and so does sesame street
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
As crazy as it may sound to you, I've never heard of any time that Fox has lied. If you could fill me in on a couple of those, I'd greatly appreciate it.
And actually, the only time that I remember hearing about the possibility that Obama is a Muslim from a main media source was when he was interviewed by George Stephanopoulos on ABC. Does that mean that you would consider ABC "trashy"?
jcolby you seem crazy just like most fox news reporters fox news lies are too plentfull to list but the most recent untruth they are perpetuating is that obama was the reason for the fort hood shooting ---i get it if you like propganda that is your buisness --fox news is for racist ignorant people
I think you're mis-understanding the difference between a lie and a position contrary to yours. In situations of blame or any other opinion-based topic, as long as someone doesn't use a "fact" that he knows to be untrue, he is not lying. Just because someone disagrees with you does not mean that they are lying.
So typical, the lies are "too plentiful to list." Got it. The burden of proof is still on you.
And not surprisingly, you failed to answer my question about ABC-- does their questioning of Obama's faith mean that they are also for "racist ignorant people"?
If the government thinks that ANY news channel is their enemy then we all have a problem. That just brings us one step closer to a dictatorship if the government starts censoring the news.
"like obama birth certifacate and if obama is really a muslim"
I have never heard them claim that those things were true. Can you give a source?
Give me a freaking break! It's SESAME STREET! Adults shouldn't be watching it and harshly judging anyway! They are making a mountain out of a mole hill! This is just ridiculous. I love Sesame Street and they have made parodies of EVERYTHING else! Why is this one different?!?!?!
its because of programming and reports like this the rest of the world views americans as retards
