  • You got the name of the song WRONG.

William Tell Overture and Bonanza TV theme song are two different songs and NOT the same. The last part of William Tell Overture, known as Charge of the Swiss Soldiers, was used as theme song in the Lone Ranger, but not in Bonanza. Don't get confused.

In the video, the musician is playing Long Range (William Tell finale) in the first part but half way through he switches to the Bonanza theme song.

  • @barrhavener Howdy. The description under the video clearly says "Rossini's William Tell Overture AND Jay Livingstone's Bonanza Theme." It's a medley of two musical works.

  • @P47ROCKS

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I apologize.

  • Howdy. This medley is very easy to play. It's mostly rolling Scruggs style. One or two little melodic style runs. IT'S JUST FAST :) Send me your email for a copy of the tabs.

  • Theme song of my childhood hero !

  • Hello,

When I hear that, I want trust that Rossini was a banjo player ! lol

    Dams.

  • Hello wideyess,

Yes it is. It was composed by Rossini. The TV show Bonanza which ran in the 1960's had an original theme that I've always felt was "inspired" by the William Tell Overture. Cheers, Bill

  • Isn't this the lone ranger theme tune?

  • This is absolutely brilliant. I have never heard this classic played on the banjo. You play it with great clarity and confidence.

  • Bill -- you never cease to amaze me.

    Great.

  • How he do that? Great

  • That was awsome.

  • I loved that Bill. That ought to be part of your and Kathy's performances. Lee

  • Tastefully performed. Very nice arrangement. Thanks for sharing.
