  • @MrRuebn We have to show an id to make sure you are 16. But our pubs and such nearly never ask about an id card.

  • @DrMedWurst1 Not in Belgium. One can drink and get drunk at any age. Because we don't care.

  • @Zgiadz legally you can only buy "strong" alcohol like wodka etc... from 18 and breezers from age 16, but ye nobody gives a shit

  • @DrMedWurst1 It's from 16, not 18... GET YOUR FACTS TOGETHER!

Well, in the Netherlands it is 16. :D

  • @BloodDrinker1231 I don't think there's an age limit on blood drinking though :P

  • LET THE BEER FLOW! LEVE HEIDEVOLK!

  • i love this song

  • texten a.u.b :D

  • don't why but this band and some other bands like korpiklaani, blind guardian gives me a comfy feeling and want to hang with friends in a forrest drinking beer and enjoying because you live only once and you must the best of it !

HAIL ODIN, WODAN, DONAR, FRYA ALL OF THEM !

  • @igornero666

you know that Odin and Wodan is the same person right.

he is called Odin in Norse mythology and Wodan in Germanic mythology

  • @13TheKinslayer666 I know ^^ just bored to chance it ^^

  • @13TheKinslayer666 Norse mythology is Germanic mythology. The more correct thing to say would be that the West Germanic languages called him Wodan and that the North Germanic (Norse) languages called him Odin.

  • @mogh07 well we don't know much directly from mainland Germanic sources. Most of our information regarding the pre-Christian faiths of the Germanic tribes comes from flawed sources. The most accurate information we have is regarding the Norse peoples, we now assume it was largely the same in mainland Germania, that makes sense with the similar cultures and syumbols and the few direct traces we do have. But we do not know for sure how the Germanic viewed what Gods.

  • love you dutch guys! epic bands, epic people, only met nice guys from there. hail to our neigbors and heidevolk from germany!

  • @Talbuk thx to think we're epic, you're one of the few ones ;)

  • @EEEGotomtom hear hear !!!

  • This song is amazing! It just makes me want to get on a longboat and raid an English coastline or something. I love it!

  • @LoganRidenour You leave those English monks and maidens alone!!

  • i drink beer for wotan and donar hail to the gods of the north!!!!!

  • Right that song does it -I'm getting my axe!

  • hail to the gods! hail to thor! may i one day drink with him as he did when he drank so much that he lowered the ocean.

  • Let the beer flow! :)

  • what is this song about?

  • @Zantozzzz its about beer, serious

  • @Zantozzzz

Its about a longboat full of warriors returning from a raid, they are talking about all the beer they will drink, food they will eat and women they will fuck when they get back home. Its mainly a song about them missing their home.

  • @AK49Gunner interesting (y)

  • @AK49Gunner More songs should be about that sort of thing.

Oh wait, I listen to heidevolk almost every day ;)

Seriously though, there NEEDS to be more folk metal songs about getting royally wasted on all kinds of alcoholic drinks.

So far we have songs about beer (just about everyone), vodka (korpiklaani), tequilla (korpiklaani), rum (alestorm) cider (alestorm, on the new album!)...I'm still waiting for one about (scotch) whisky, one of my favourite drinks :D Maybe I should write one!

  • @MagnusBruce Ooh, nearly forgot songs with references to mead and wine.

I think the new alstorm album has a song called something like "buckfast powerslam" which I can only assume will have something to do with the buckfast abbey tonic wine thing (I have an unopened bottle of it from last year when I visited)

  • @MagnusBruce

For drinking songs,I highly recommend Korpiklaani. They have a larg number of songs about drinking.eg. Beer Beer,Vodka,Happy Little Boozer,Woden Pints and Tequila.

  • @Thudism I know and love all of those songs already ;)

  • @MagnusBruce share it dude :D

  • @Zgiadz It's a bit hard to share alcohol over the intoernet, bro XD

  • Comment removed

  • of course the netherlands are germanic !!! almost all of us here in europe are ! i´m so glad that heidevolk brought us some awesome folk , without some senseless screaming.....

  • It's funny to act like being in that beer-frenzy but I don't get it^o) What's the point in drinking beer? Looking manly?Or maybe it's just a matter of tastes..

  • @Zgiadz have you ever done this??

  • @Tryndamare Yes, I've already drunk beer x) I'm not the guy to mock something without knowing anything about it. The fact is that I don't like beer AT ALL. That's it.

  • @Zgiadz drinking beer with friends is one of the best things of the world, i think... ; D

so i think, its a matter of tastes..

  • european history:

the "Migration Period" and the ending (western) roman empire would be a good start. also to understand the languages.. even german and english were the "same" in the beginning. but they evolved differently als dutch did, which has the same Germanic roots.

in the end a lot of languages are related as they've for example Romanic (spanish/french/italian) or Germanic (german/englisch/dutch) roots, distributed by the colonization to the rest of the world.

  • The Netherlands are 100% germanic. Germanic tribes like the Bataver and Friesen settled there. Even in their national anthem : "We are of Germanic blood!"

  • @shortandtickling not true, a big part of our population are immigrants from other parts of europe where they didn't have freedom of religion. and these days we've got a lot of foreign guest workers as well.

  • @chantilovesmusic

No not germany Germanic as in "Germanen " the people that lived in the netherlands germany etc.

  • we were all humans no mather from who we came america russia or china we must unite for ODIN!!!!!

  • im a native turkish born, But i follow the heathen path to heart. I am A proud asatru, and i shall die a proud one. I found the viking path at the age of 14, and i've never been happier. hail to the gods! (i don't live in turkey anymore, as i have spent the majority of my life in america, and still continue but my path shall never go astray)

  • You may not believe it, but even the British share some germanic blood. You couldn't expect todays borders to be the same ones they 2000 years ago. And by the way, just half of nowadays Germany was originally settled by saxons, so I probably share more things in common with every Dutch than with some Bavarians. (Not kidding, my home-accent the "Platt" is very similar to the Dutch language)

  • Heidevolk is from the Netherlands, in Gelderland, were many germanic tribes settled during the Roman reign over europe...

  • in Valhalla we shall drink

  • @chantilovesmusic Germanic as in Germany? Because this song is Dutch. o.O

  • @holyboddy in this moment i ask myself why this comment is on this song. i dont posted it on this song i think. this comment was not for this song. I know that what you say and i think so myself. and so i say sorry for this unnormally comment. :D

  • @The6brothers lol im from america and even i think we suck

  • AMERICA SUCKS DICK .... america suck for real ..... EUROPE IS THE PLACE TO B

  • @The6brothers Although I do agree with you in that respect, theres really no need to say it out loud, especially like that. Cause there be people as would take offence at that and raise holy hell for lesser comments. Please, dont be trollin'.

  • ^____________^

  • I love BEER and to get drunk for ODIN^^

  • @Stormraider1000 the dutch and Germans call him not Odin..We call him Wotan !! ^^

  • @Stormraider1000 Odin is the Scandinavian version of Wodan, but here we call him (ofcourse) Wodan :P

  • @FierceGriffon thx for information brother^^

  • @Stormraider1000

dude in dutch and germany we call him not odin but wodan ;D

  • @harkr5 but here in austria we call him odin cause this name is more famous than wodan here^^

  • You guys talk this fucking "Blame American's, America sucks" thing to death. Good god find another topic to save yourself from look stupid! !

  • i like for drinking!!!!!

  • @ jispma Yes, I was kidding. It was a joke, since it sounds least like American music. Music sucks in the USA.

  • @bzagar1 not all american music sucks, but i must say that a large portion of shitty pop and country and rap is our fault, but the rest f the world has just as much shitty music.

  • @Neverdweller

Yeah, Blues, Rock n roll and metal are also our fault, so if American music sucks then this "folkmetal thing must be tainted. lol

  • @AK49Gunner Are you fucking retarded, I said not all american music sucks.

give me a break before you act like you are correcting me.

  • @Neverdweller

Hey fuckwit, I WAS AGREEING WITH YOU. Take a basic 3rd grade reading comrehension class before you lash out and insult people.

  • @AK49Gunner the beer flowed too rich for him XD

  • Comment removed

  • This definitely sounds American.

  • @bzagar1 it's dutch. I hope you were sarcstic, if not, you're an idiot=D

  • what is the ethnic origin of this song? it seems both saxon, viking, or maybe even celtic as the sword in the ground seems like a scottish claymore

  • @rsboy5 Heidevolk focuses primarily on the Saxons, so that'd be my guess.

  • @rsboy5

Well, this tune is definitely not of celtic origin...

  • @Hollandia777

    it's viking

  • @rsboy5

Yes, Dutch Saxon. All Germanic ppls are related in culture, myths, legends, all speak a Germanic language and are closely related genetically. The celts are also related to their European Germanic cousins, though the language is less similar but still related as an indo-european language, and in fact there are some simialrities to be found between Germanic and celtic languages. But also as ppls of Europe we are all close relatives genetically. While still having enough difference-->

  • @rsboy5

    to be interesting

  • Ik bun vulgaris magistralis!!

  • now im actually proud that im born in gelderland :P

  • People say you can't talk about religion should just move to Iran, China, or North Korea. Where freedom of speech isn't aloud. If you're a communist you should move to a place that is totalitarian. If not, don't tell anyone they can't say certain things. Of course, you expect everyone to respect your desire to tell people they can't say certain things. Self-defeating.

  • @bzagar1

  • @VeniVidiDamn

    u are french ?

  • @druisteen2

    Dutch.

  • Stop bitching! BEEEEEEER BEER YAH! BEEEER

  • On this religious air that is blowing through, I will say one thing.

Muslims will come to England and expect their religion to be accepted.

If you took christianity to the middle east, you risk *death*.

Using England as one example does not cover the world, but I strongly doubt the attitude would be different, were you from England, France, Holland, Australia or anywhere else.

Religion should never come into question around music.

  • Het bier zal weer vloeien

    Het bier zal weer vloeien

    Het bier zal weer vloeien

    In ons Gelderland

    Op winst in de strijd

    Op vlees en jolijt

    Kom laat ons nu drinken

Op ons Gelderland I love it when they sing it its like a good celebration.

  • so i'm christian too, and who disturbs?! we all like this beautiful song of an amazing band. i hate this damned bullshit of "fuck you christians" and "fuck you heathen".. i believe in celtic religion same as in christianity.. so shut up and listen to this impressive song!

tribute to all my brothers who share my opinion..

    hail to heidevolk

  • nederland natuurlijk not german

  • When i listen to this i am proud to be dutch

  • FREIBIER!

  • heres an idea less talking more drinking????

yes we get we arians are great at messing sh*t up big deal, its what we do.

you don't blame a fish for swimming do you?

  • This song isn't even about religion. It's about returning to Gelderland for beer. And does it even matter? Let the trolls die out on their own. They're just trying to get an uprise out of everyone.

  • Just because I'm Christian doesn't mean this song does not appeal to me, nor does it mean that I'm a haughty bible-thumper. Honestly, I don't know why so many people are talking about religion on this board ...

  • 3 people suck

  • why the fuck is everybody talking bout religions?

    no one does care,

i´m a christian because my family is,

but i don´t care about religions and i listen to that kind of music because i like it.

but i think you´ll have to rate this down because i don´t believe in odin or things like that :D

  • @L0STINH0LLYW00D wtf are you talking about ? There where exactly THREE people who downvoted this song.

  • @L0STINH0LLYW00D this about the songs not about odin, write odin on a paper and put that down your ass.

  • @mrtommie999 i´m not talking about the song,

i´m talking about the people who argue bout religions dumbass

  • i love this song. its strangely relaxing =/

  • @rsboy5 if you grab a beer is it even more relaxing xD

  • u ppl need to stfu about religion. im a devout christian and i dont find a whole lot wrong about this. as long as we dont use this in a bad context we are fine so please stop guys

  • wuhuu saufgelage

  • i want to be buried with this song playing when i die :D

    English translation:

oh with beer in your hands this song is awsome^^

  • @soanoen mist; 'real' niet?

  • @soanoen

Preferably Grolsch :P? Or real Heineken, not the "imitation" stuff in other countries :).

  • @SupremeCommanderSil Yeah, I actually don't liek Heineken but when I had one in Holland, I thought it wasn't Heineken. I prefere Amstel though, even if the difference is very small.
