  • I wish somebody post this show on youtube. I'll sit there and watch it one day.

  • I love how women TV stars were allowed to just be naturally beautiful back then. She was so pretty, in just her normal 80s clothes and normal weight.

  • it's a great theme tune, and i liked the show. the intros are like a tourist advertisement for the town of brotherly love. too bad they don't show rocky balboa. i think it's odd that philadelphia's baseball team is called the "phillies". the name sounds like a nickname for the town. i can't think of any other team that's name sounds like a nickname for the team's town. if i were a philadelphian, i would ask for a different name for the team. maybe the philadelphia "liberty bells" would be best.

  • IM SO HAPPY I FOUND THIS I WAS ON THIS SHOW IN 1979 I WAS ON THE EPISODE UNCLE CHEECH WHICH WAS DANNY DEVITO THE WHOLE CAST WAS GREAT I WAS ONLY 8 YRS OLD.I STILL HAVE MY EPISODE 30 YRS LATR ON A OLD VHS TAPE.I LIVE IN VEGAS NOW AS A SINGER/ACTOR BUT ONCE YOU STOP BEING A KID YOUR NOT WANTED AS MUCH ANYMORE BUT THIS WAS A GREAT SHOW THANKS FOR POSTING AND SHARING ALL STORIES. ROB

  • great titles!

  • Sung by Maureen McGovern (of Can You Read My Mind fame).

  • the intros for "angie"are much like a tourist ad for philadelphia. speaking of phila-, i think obama was secretly rooting for sestak against specter, though obama kept his promise by speaking in favor of specter publicly. "philadelphia" is the greek word for "brotherly love", and the town in pennsylvania was named for a town in what used to be the greek empire. when i watch this kind of intro, i get a bit jealous because i can't think of any tv show whose intro shows places where i have lived.

  • i barely remember this show but I sure wish they would bring it to dvd......and also I noticed in the season one opening compared to the season two opening, they had too many people in this first season...I wonder if it was because they cut the good characters out that it failed....but again i was very small when this show was on

  • I allways liked angies sister marie

  • Donna Pescow is one hot MILF. Hubba hubba. @_@

  • @LondonGuysVids i was 11 at the time this came out . early puberty.i got turned on by Donna and Debralee

  • does any body have these episodes i loved this show.

  • i remember when this show was on ABC in late 70's when i was about 12--i had such a crush on tammy lauren- the young girl on show.after all these years--tammy grew up to be a beautiful woman!!

  • this show needs a dvd release. there are many fans. i would buy it!!!

  • @rugged64 I would also buy "Angie" on a DVD release, my friend. This was such a warm show, and I agree wholeheartedly with Doris Roberts, this show should have been a hit.

  • @rugged64 that makes two of us

  • great intro song.......

  • I always loved this show....thsi brings back memories

  • Loved this show and hope it sees an eventual DVD release. it was a top 5 ratings hit the first season until ABC shuffled it around the 2nd season and killed it

  • Doris Roberts is a force majeur in any show she is in : )

  • I remember this show too and loved it! I think I was in elementary school, as well.

  • i still remember she worked at the liberty diner. i was in second or third grade when this show was on.

  • I loved this theme song when it aired and still do. I was 15 at the time and I recorded the theme on audiotape using a mono cassette recorder so I could listen to it over & over again.

  • That is what I used to do when I was 5! Ah the memories!

  • FYI, the theme song was released on CD several years ago (on one of the "TVs Greatest Hits" collections).

NOW, the show needs to be released on DVD!!!

  • love this show, love the theme, love donna - love it all!

  • and what happened to tammy lauren..she is now on the young and the restless as a cop(maggie)

  • I have wondered if they had tried to aim this theme at radio...since other tv themes were radio hits

  • sure did..maureen mcgovern had a top 20 hit from the summer of 1979

  • I wonder why this show didn't do very well. I know all of my friends used to watch the show.

  • Man I remember this like it was yesterday!!! I havent seen this since it was new. Thanks so much for posting it. I always liked that show and was upset it didnt last long.

  • I loved this show, and I love this theme song to this day. 1979? I was in third and fourth grade in '79. Never missed this show.

  • I just wish someone at Paramount would put this show on DVD, pronto!

Angie, I still love you, and all of your friends and family!

  • She was in Saturday Night Fever, wasn't she? I can't forget when that guy fell off the bridge...Angie was a lot more wholesome. This is about the beginning of the "renaissance" of the sitcom as we knew it in the 1980s. If you recall, all sitcoms had to have a jazzy upbeat theme after 1974 and they were big adult contemporary songs after The Love Boat. This style isn't dead, it's just BADLY DONE on the Disney Channel, where all ABC programming execs were exiled in the 1990s!

  • that makes two of us

  • Ahh yes...Angie was my first celebrity crush! Such memories! I even downloaded the theme song!

  • reminds me of grade school and the first girl I kissed in 1979, 5th grade. I'll never forget.

  • I was in Kindergarten in 1979 and I was 5 years old. Ahhhh the memories.

  • Absolutely incredible, brings back all the wonderful memories. Also, as I watched the panning of the camera during the credits, it was wonderful how it kept direct center on the Penn Statue, as it panned, slowly, as it looked first towards the Museum of Art; then Broad Street; and then it ended looking over towards the Delaware River.

  • Oh crap, this song is gonna be in my head all day!

  • that happens to me...It had such a disco like feel any way....it was almost good enough for radio

  • hahaha! me too!

  • What is the name of that song? I have looking for it for years...

  • It's called "Different Worlds (Theme from the TV Series Angie)" by Maureen McGovern.

  • Thanks, I found it.

  • Tammy still has the long hair. She's a good actress; I wonder why she was cut from Season 2.

  • They never gave a reason as I remember. I presume she went to school outside of Philadelphia; and nothing was spoken of.

  • Now Tammy Lauren plays on Y&R as Detective Maggie Sullivan, a far cry from Hilary Benson.

  • Yeah I couldn't believe it was her.

  • Donna was on the Sopranos finale! Go Donna.

    RIP Deberoh Lee.

  • This is one of the GREATEST sitcoms ever made!!!!!

This is one of the greatest shows EVER MADE!!!!!

  • On nick-at nite and tv land, LOL

  • A show the whole family could watch. Where are these kind of shows today.

  • OMG! That is soooo Love Boat.

  • I know, LOL

  • Obviously its a spinoff of the Love Boat.

  • No it wasn't a spin off of the Love Boat. Just shared some cutting edge graphics (back then)

  • In fact, it wasn't a spinoff of anything.

  • LOL! I remember this show...BARELY.

  • Thank you for posting!

Now, we just need to get these shows on DVD.

  • My pleasure! and I totally agree with you!

  • Just out of curiosity - where did you find the theme songs? I'd love to see if I can find some old shows, too.

  • The Season 1 theme I have on Tape as well as a the 2nd season theme. But the version of the 2nd season theme (the one that is posted on here) is from the net(somewhere)

  • Do you have the end theme as well.

  • I'll have to see if there is one without those annoying voice overs
