  • This rhyme is most likely about the wool industry that was critical to the country's economy in the Middle Ages (rhymes.org.uk). I've only done a quick search but I can't find any research to back up a connection with the slave trade or racial connotations. That's a much more recent idea. Not everything that's black is a reference to black people, just as not everything that's long and thin is phallic. I still disliked the video though. It's is really annoying.
