It is amazing and heartening to find that there are legions of people who love this movie as much as i do. The casting, the acting, the cinematography, the sountrack make this my all time favorite movie. if someone put together a festival along the lines of a Star trek convention, only with the LOTM theme, and do it somewhere like the Blue Ridge mountains, or the Shenandoahs, or Upstate New York, you would have a big hit. Have Wes Studi or Eric Shwieg show up, that would be epic !
this recording sounds different to the soundtrack in the movie....PLEASE RE WATCH THE SCENE >_< you'll understand why...it's on a different key and has a different arrangement.....
@wootwoot937 To the best of my knowledge, this is the theatrical version of the film. The sound mix is different on the DVD (each version of the film on video is different). I prefer the theatrical version myself. They kind of take away the power of the scene when they go back and re-edit the music to include deleted bits in special editions.
@wootwoot937 of course, I could be wrong -- a bunch of pieces in the soundtrack are not the same as what you hear in the film, including the climactic scene. So that's yet another version. No idea why they re-orchestrated movie music for the soundtrack.
@wootwoot937 Ah, yes, I see on another thread you're talking about the theatrical, and how this is slightly different (there's a link to the theatrical clip here). Yeah, it always bugs me when movie music is re-orchestrated. This is a good version, though. It's got a nice musical buildup that you don't hear in the film. But of course the music goes best with the images on film.
@medievalmaid for some reasons (I dont know exactly why:) this is my favourite piece of this soundrack. reminds me how I picturise Unkas (the leading archetype character amongs sooo many others in this movie). not sad. not melodramatical but exactly like this-energy and purity!
Absolutely stunning peice, I love the violin, as it appears twice in here, and at the beginning the intro..I can just picture Canoes rowing through the sea
@jeffhardy0963 I always picture canoes or a small group of natives running through the woods or riding through the plains. It's like the perfect piece for either scenario. Gives you that feeling of natural beauty.
I imagine canoeing down a wooded river.

WOW. I remember this part, when that Hawkeye and his brother snipe those French and Huron. Damn I guess they call him Hawkeye for a reason.
