  • can you do a video on the bernzomatic "fat boy" propane canister?

  • @boi560

Hi, you can use it the same way, but it is usually too bulky for most people and really does not save much money. I would just buy the smaller tanks.

  • How about using some kinda ball jointed adjustable holder?

  • @cygnetomega

Hi, nothing is not needed. I taught 7th grade girls to use this torch and they never complained once. Remember that a torch should not be in your hand for more that a minute or so at a time. I always say that if the solder does not start flowing in 30 seconds or so, you need to do something different. Eigher turn up the torch or get it closer to your solder joint. Be sure to heat the whole piece, especially the farthest point away from you solder joint, then go to solder joint.

  • Thanks for this. The 45 degree angle stuff is pretty confusing though. Relative to what? "45 degree angle, pointing straight down"--but it's not pointing straight down. You're moving the torch around in different positions while saying you want to do this, you don't want to do that. I think I get the idea, but it's not real clear.

Hi, the 45 degree is the flame to your work angle. Not pointing it straight down, which will actually cool your flame, taking longer for each solder joint. Of course you have to move the flame around your piece with Silver. It conducts heat faster than any other metal, there for you should heat the whole piece, and then go to your solder joint. I am only posting one 3 minute lesson of each of the 75 hour long classes that I have. Please go to my web site for more information.

  • r u on crack ?

  • @Mrhypercam

The only problem with youtube is that people can post dumb posts without telling us who they are. Please sign your posts, and try to say something smart about my videos. Thanks, Don Norrsi

I am only posting one three minute lesson of each of the 75 hour long classes that I have made so far. I could not get much information put on a one 10 minute video either. Please go to my web site for more information. I may put one whole a hour long class on YouTube in 10 lessons.

  • Hi There Don!

Look forward to watching & learning! Bring 'em on! Thanks! Juli ;)

  • I just bought a torch like this yesterday because my soldering iron stopped working. I was wondering how to hold it properly!! Thanks!

  • Brazing with one of those... you're my hero! haha Myself, I'm a mini torch kinda fella. Fun videos guy. ;0)

  • @civitasdei

I have mini torches, but this less than $15.00 torch will do larger projects. However, I do like smaller, more profitable projects. Vist my web site, learnsilver.cm to see projects made by my Beginning Students with this torch. Every project was made using it. Most could not have been made with most mini torches, or at least take longer to make. Thanks for posting, Don Norris
