  • Fuck you fred I'll hit the skip button if I feel like it

    I do what I want

  • @McBigMac19 Yes sir fuck that dude

  • if anyone would like to check out my videos thank you so much

  • Nobody told me there'd be days like these.

  • Black Panthers, John Lennon, Ku Klux Klan. Viet Nam Give Peace a Chance. A Brit trying to change America? IMAGINE.

  • @MrDSmooth56 the brits invented america they can do what the fuck they want!

  • nobody told me there'd not be music like this, strange days nowadays indeed...

  • 2:21 hey JL, it's 2012 and :UFO:s still fly over NY.

  • Everybody's smoking and no one's getting high

  • @stregadisalem thats the stupidest fact ive heard

  • @somany5 It's not a fact, it's a line in the song.

  • @stregadisalem so its a ledure in the song sorry if im indian english i cant understand all words right so. and we speak diffrent.

  • Comment removed

  • @stregadisalem That is not me, Strange days indeed !

  • when you take up a rented flat these days you really do find nazis

    just beneath the stairs.

  • if you can write songs inthis level ..let me know..........

  • every line holds true, forever.

  • Every I find myself thinking, "Man, we couyld really use John Lennon right now." It doesn't stop with him though. Change for good is in all (most?) of us. It begins and ends with you, not someone else.

  • strange days indeed...

  • I just love John lennons defiance to Americas War culture, it's moving.

  • John was a weirdo, but my favorite Beatle

  • Sadly I remember when john was killed, this song was cutting edge! I note in my mind when musicians die, especially those who brought me joy!

  • @borntrippin Me too. I was only 10 years old but my brothers and sisters (even my mother) explained me about that and who was John Lennon. That was very sad.

  • So America hates Lennon?!?!?!

    Oh yeah, Mark Chapman.

  • STRANGE DAYS INDEED!!!!!!

  • strange on so many levels

  • MY FAVORIT.. :D

  • about the only talent lennon didn't have was knowing how to humble himself before the Lord. God rest his soul.

  • @trentholt John Lennon was a lot more concerned with reality than he was with primitive and supersticious fantasies...

  • make love no war!!!

  • GOD BLESS THE GREAT TALENT AND HUMAN BEING THAT WAS JOHN LENNON :)

  • I always thought John is the most sincere writer in song writing history. But,Now I think he may be the best.

  • I always thought the line was "knat-shit" instead of nazis.

  • i wonder what john would say about these days

  • @317anastar

if he were here 9/11 wouldnt have happened, nor the wars, and i guess the economy would be better

  • @xtremanater321 thats stupid yes there would and 9/11 wasn't that big of a deal in the compared to everything else that is happening in the world

  • @xtremanater321 nope

  • John Lennon Forever !!

  • and the u.s won

  • @PizzaHutBrover US won my ass! John made it into the states no matter all their efforts to keep him out, both with ostility, and actual and factual attempts, by seeking his past, and all possible reasons to keep him out. He made it in, he sang his soul out for us, and we heard him! he died? no he will always live in the hearts of who listen to his music! his ideas, his thoughts and his genius is never forgotten as long as we remember it, i for one will pass it to my son and so on

  • @PizzaHutBrover Learn the facts before you make wrongful and untrue comments. John won actually despite the best efforts of Nixon to deport him. In 1976 Lennon was granted his green card allowing him to remain permanently in the United States. And when he was murdered by that cockroach Chapman, most of the U.S cried and mourned him. I would call that a John Lennon victory....

  • There's Ufo's over New York and I ain't too surprised ;)

  • What the heck is this military add? Join Up ya GOOD Deal. Meet a girl make love,,,,,boys

  • There are conscious song writers, anything that is reflects/controversial what goes on is Underground. Mainstream music are all Club Beats, that's what it's all about these days are nice cars, money and women. Those things are nice, but unlike John Lennon, they don't speak out about it, and talk about it in their songs. I'm not saying everyone underground is conscious, you gotta find the ones who are, cuz no doubt some of em go to sign on to Big Record Labels.

  • *******"Mainstream music are all Club Beats, that's what it's all about these days are nice cars, money and women. Those things are nice, but unlike John Lennon, they don't speak out about what goes on and talk about it in their songs"**********

  • Out of all of the artists that died too young, John Lennon was the one that really struck home for me...I wish he was still here, but then again, who doesn't? Music could be so much better today

  • People always say 'nobody writes songs like they did in the 60's/Beatles /Stones etc - modern music sucks' - why? because artists reflect their environment as something else /music/sculpure whatever - and the 60's was the most positive vibrant time in history. Otherwise 60's bands would still be writing iconic fantastic tunes today - but they're not. Not the beatles, the stones - nobody.

  • I am a conservative republican....I LOVE THIS SONG...because it speaks to me in my own way. Which is the way John Lennon wanted it to. It doesnt matter who you are. He wasn't talking to me or YOU!.....If you interpret the song in a positive way for yourself then great.......I love John Lennon's music.

  • @kaymartinable my sentiments exactly - (regarding his songs - being able to identify with at least one of them (that mirrors your feelings at that time)

  • I love John Lennons songs, if you listen carefully, they are all so true! Love him!

  • A True Prophet .... in my ♥ forever !

  • STRANGE DAYS INDEED ARE NOW JOHN! THINGS ARE GETTING STRANGER TOO!

  • RIP John Lennon hope that Mark David Chapman suffers for doing what he did to you :(

    ((o-o))

  • He really was a genius :) I still remember December 8th, 1980, hearing the sad news on the radio :( Nobody told John there would be days like that, strange days indeed :(

  • Apparently no one told John that he was going to be shot in the back two times today 31 years ago....

  • We miss you John !!

  • John Lennon 1940 - 1980

  • "Not a fuck was given about how old you are or who brought you here"---John Lennon.

  • Lennon Won

  • I dont care about opinions this song is just brings me back. I would listen to this song at the age of 11 and 12 and look out at the beatiful farm that I lived on. My childhood was so happy untill i moved to the most uninspirational house in the suburbs. I went to visit my beatiful farm house that i had to leave and instead of seeing the corn blowing in the wing with the cows and chickens grazing I witnessed a never ending townhouse neighborhood. this song brings me back to the days I was happy.

  • It Sounds Like John Lennon Is Saying "Nobody You Be Blackie" In A Raciest Term Or It's Sound Like He's Saying "Nobody Told You Need Blankie" Like If You Were Someone That Need A Blankie.

  • Famous songs are made by unfamous songs

  • It's weird how this was released in 1984 but Lennon died in 1980.

  • @IdentifiableUser It was posthumously released as a tribute album, even though he died before its release, just because he died before its release doesnt mean it wasnt made by him, it consisted of compliations of his music meant to be released on the album but he died before its actual release.

  • Strange days indeed most peculiar, Mama. Roll!

Only Lennon could write stuff like this.

  • My favorite by him.

  • This song is basically "Instant Karma" recycled.

  • As a child I always thought he was saying, "Nobody told me there'd be lightening" funny how we mishear things. :) I am not sure which way I liked it better.

  • I fuckin love you man. Even in death you still bring peace.. :'(

  • I used to think he said,"Nobody told me that Peepees lack knees"

    ...

  • the lyrics are "There's M*A*T*C*H*E*S in the bathroom just below the stairs" - YOU IDIOT!! NOT "Nazis" !! How the hell do you hear "Nazis" over "Matches" ???!! Dumbass.....

  • @hazor777 Instead of hurling insults, do some research, and you'll find it is indeed "Nazis." Search any lyrics website for confirmation.

This is what is wrong with the net today; ppl. insult, curse, belittle for no damn good reason, and in this case, over allegedly misheard music lyrics? Gimme a break.

  • @lancasterII : Searching lyrics on websites doesn't confirm anything, pal. All one has to do is listen...besides if Im wrong, who really gives 2 shits but you, huh?

  • @hazor777 The fact that several websites stated the lyrics as "Nazis" definitely confirms something "pal," but if you want to hear it as "matches," that's your right to do so.

Funny you'd blow off the possibility of yourself being wrong, because you berated someone as a "dumbass" and "idiot" for allegedly being "wrong," when it was you who is incorrect. As I said, you can think he sings whatever you want, I just don't think there's a need to be abusive in "correcting" someone. Good day!

  • @lancasterII : Those are terms of endearment, like "My nigga" - maybe you should lighten up, "Francis". Exactly who was it that felt compelled to argue my point in the first place?? Yea, I thought so. Later My Nigga!

  • @lancasterII definetly Nazis, there were German people in dakota, John was playing with that theme.Original Sleeve I have is Nazis

  • @plasticgazzaband Are you saying all Germans are Nazis LOL

  • Not a proper beatles fan, not lennon. But loved this film when I was studying it in media 2 years ago. I remember coming into the class feeling like fucking shite with everything going on around me at home and life in general and then this song played, definately a memory burnt into my brain and felt instantly better!

  • 'everybody's smoking and no ones getting high' then, whats the point?

  • @sm374820rocks everyone plays the game but nobody wins, same thing, its a metaphor, or they're just smoking fags

  • Lennon for President :) = No Iraq no more hurting

  • UFOS! ;)

  • Love so much John Lennon songs. He's a music genius... ,he's a music legend

  • reALOY11? it sopunfsz good!

  • love this song

  • Some might say the Bee Gees were the follow version of the Beatles.

  • im 15 and i pretty much hate modern day music, i love the beatles, i wish i could of meet them all,

  • @puckdogpilot I admit, I'm 10, and seriously, Modern day music is rubbish! I guess Kasabian and thenewno2 are amazing (And other rock bands), but why on earth did Chapman shoot? I would of took that bullet from Lennon :l

  • Is it just me, or is this song damn prophetic?!?!? All of the Beatles were/are on a whole other level...everyone keeps on trying to compare other artists to them, but there will never be others like them...they occupy that weird place where they were both meant for a specific place and time, and yet remain eternally relevant...everyone is trying to find the next Beatles, but there won't ever be!!! They were unique, that's what made them special.

  • @pwharris1500 thats what happens when u sell your souls to the devil

  • @pwharris1500 Excellent point on them remaining 'eternally relevant'.

  • @pwharris1500 There's no comparison in the current stars and the beatles, they are just in different universes....

  • @pwharris1500 "Everybody's making love and no one really cares"( most people these days are just interested in the physical part of love and not the part where one cares sincerely for the other )

Always something happening and nothing going on (something is always happening behind closed doors ie; Iraq war,911 fake presidents yet everyone just walking as if nothing is happening )

"They're starving back in China so finish what you got" (its a known fact that US and UK are wasting precious food)

  • @TheGamekid93 Not only US and UK.

  • @PearlJamL0ver nah sorry us is the biggest contributor to the domestic food problems i should know damn nation runs through my vains

  • @TheGamekid93 Damn, well we must do something about it then! Isn't Obama doing anything or what?

  • @PearlJamL0ver loool Obama doesn't care for me anymore than the infamous Satan, All are run by liars and nothing they say should be believed...

  • @TheGamekid93 do you remember if at that time there was a food-issue/famine in China? or it was just a mere reference? ~thanks~

  • @cuperepiki yh today parts of china still lacks a means of basic life...back in the mid 70's it was much much worse

  • @TheGamekid93 thanks. I thought that something in "particular" happened.

  • @cuperepiki It was a totalitarian "communist" country, like in most other such countries, people starved.

  • @tomtomwolfwolf Thanks. I thought something in particular happened - like an event at that time. But it is just a more "general" statement about their situation. will be visiting there soon - so I will get a better picture of the "real deal"

  • @cuperepiki Now it's something completely different, it's more capitalist than anything else. Back when china called itself "communist" it's resources were poorly managed, and many people starved. When you'll get there, in Shanghai for example, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference from Japan or Taiwan. You could say China's dark days are over.

  • @tomtomwolfwolf i suppose you see capitalism as the solution... strange days in indeed

  • @TheGamekid93 Haha, no I don't, I see socialism as the solution.

China, the USSR, North Korea, Cuba, those were not really communist, they were a mix of capitalist and totalitarian.

For example: there was no real distribution of wealth, an small elite minority lived in luxury while the workers starved. They called themselves socialist to keep the masses working and hopeful, and the west called them socialist to cause fear and make people hate the very idea of socialism.

  • @TheGamekid93 Actually people in the victorian era were more sexually active than this current period.

  • @24rusguy yh am gonna just pretend you didn't say that...also did you know that 90 percent of boys will have watched porn by their 13th birthday? and don't even get me started on prostitution and the media's use of sexuality on just about every form of entertainment

  • @TheGamekid93 Pretend what you like mate but a fact is a fact. The Victorians had a higher rate of sexism, adultery, teen sex, and prostitution.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheGamekid93 you forgot the best part! "There's Ufo's over New York and I ain't too surprised."

  • @ heGamekid93 YOU SAID ITT MATE SO TRUE

  • @TheGamekid93 You ar enothing but a dumb conspiracy theorist

  • @TheGamekid93 I don't think anyone is just walking around as if nothing happened on 911. Everyone from my generation and the one before it knows something happened and doesn't act as if it didn't.

  • @1nfamoustruth i know full well that things havnt been the same since the attacks i should know i am a Muslim living in a western world, what i meant is that people are over looking facts such as; bush being friends with the bindladen's, how the binladen family were giving the rights to leave the country when no one was allowed to strange don't you think?...did you know that a survey conducted back in 05 said that over 60% of american'a thought that the Iraq invasion was because of 911 not WMD's

  • @TheGamekid93 well urbanpocalypse;? the strandaz events were not as sophisticated yet narandized as they were compare to the lefties.

  • @somany5 sorry you lost me there am not much familiar with these terms i could do google research and let you know about but that defeats the purpose

  • Comment removed

  • @TheGamekid93 Lennon himself slept around.

  • @mrgarymakin hahaha that's funny , you would talk about something you don't know nothing/anything about. He didn't stick w his wife the first time...how ever..Yoko Ono...he never cheated on...he got sober for her after she left him

  • in my honest opinion... this is lennon's best song post-beatles.

  • The Beatles sang emotion...they sang about their emotions and we relate to it because they came from our class. Money is just numbers, but emotion, values that's what they and we understand.

  • ONE OF THE BEST WE WILL EVER HAVE

  • The funny thing is, That my art teacher always puts this song on when art class starts...

  • @napeu098 i think your teacher is hinting at the innuendo of what our world is facing right now, the current changes of false democracy when your classrooms are designed to remove creative thinking and inspire the acceptance of slavery in your subconscious mind, we're told that fact is stranger then fiction but when presented with the truth it must be false because the truth has cant be that unlogical... sounds like your art teacher is one of the few still trying to inspire open thought

  • Investigate and indict

  • Can someone tell me the goal of occupying wall street.

  • dit is muziek beter dan die shitzooi van vandaag

  • Comment removed

  • @Abarthcar33 john lennonn was a legend and this is one of my favourite songs such a unique voice

  • Occupy wall street is the most hippy thing that's happened in NewYork for a while. I saw people singing and dancing, and playing Pink Floyd songs, and when I saw this in school this song came to mind.

It also made me think of the Beatles "There's a place".

  • happy late birthday john :'( :')

  • happu birtday the legend!

  • Happy Birthday John. Wherever you are. Eternal peace.

  • Happy Birthday, we will never forget you.

  • Happy birthday John <3

  • I think John Lennon would like people in NY to support the Occupy Wall Street movement, and if you're not in NY do one in your city.

  • Happy Birthday John no one like you ever!

  • Happy Birthday John

    I fucking love you !

  • 11 people just went... WAIT!!!! I didn't mean to thumb down this song!!! Fuck, now I'm going to hell.

  • @Ducksoup67 If you hit like, it'll change your dislike to a like :) You can switch between them, I think

  • @xxxxxxxxKatexxxxxxxx - Oh I didn't realize that. Thanks. Then these people are just out of touch, man.

  • Don't even bring up Justin Bieber on a video like this. Bieber is viewed by a bunch of dumb little girls, The Beatles/Lennon are viewed by people who know real music and appreciate the older things instead of modern day garbage. The fact that people still watch this in 2011 shows Lennon is far more amazing and will always be far more amazing than Bieber ever will be. No matter how many views.

  • @dairien2012 Hate to tell you bro but the Beatles were the Bieber of their day. Sorry to break the news to you but its true. That whole Beatlemania nonsense was teenage girls fawning over a boy band. However once the Beatles started doing drugs thats when they became good.

  • Comment removed

  • @Abarthcar33 Sorry about my stupidity, I guess I am just too intelligent for you to comprehend. Bummer.

  • @thebobster14

Yes and no. The Beatles wanted to do something new and improve. Bands used to include good songs in singles and regular songs in albums. They changed good and regular songs in albums. that

I want to hold your hand was the 1st song recorded in a 4 track recording machine.

They used 12 string guitars since 1964.

I feel fine was one of the first songs that include feedback.

  • @dairien2012 Couldn't have said it better myself :)

  • @dairien2012

    so true

  • @dairien2012 you're one of the only people to bring him up :( when will people realize a post telling people not to talk about justin beiber IS A POST TALKING ABOUT JUSTIN BEIBER

  • Comment removed

  • @dairien2012 Man... in the 60s, the Beatles were mostly popular among a bunch of dumb little girls, and the old people did not consider it 'real music', and ranted about 'modern day garbage'. Who's to say that in 2058 the dumb little girls of 2011 won't be ranting about how much more amazing Justin Bieber was?

  • @BernardIsReal that might be true, but people will still hate justin bieber when hes older and plus he'll never be as wise as john lennon... and thats coming from a 12 year old

  • @BernardIsReal i m 14 and i prefer this to "modern music, to be honest no one has ever matched the him or the Beatles, all their songs had a message now its all about giten' drunk, beatin' on girls and fake relation ships. god damn pathetic if you ask me, how no one aknowleges the songs that are relevant to today's issues.

  • @dairien2012 Haha "Don't bring up Bieber". You're entire post was about Bieber you attention seeking faggot. I love losers like you who come on youtube searching for thumbs up and shit. Gtfo douchebag.

  • @redbuffalo15 LOL. Attention seeking faggot? For one, that was just stupid to even say and makes you looks extremely immature and ignorant. For two, if I'm such an attention seeker, you didn't help the cause by writing me this comment. If I was such an attention seeker, I would have written something guaranteeing me more thumbs up. But thanks anyway, 3 weeks later after I commented. :)

  • @dairien2012 the first comment on this video and its you who has brought him up, smart move.

  • @dairien2012 im just a 12 year old and i love this music and new music sucks
