I too am partial to the WABC bumpers, having grown up in the area and having it decorated on my channel page, but the West Coast's Channel 7 sure has a might fine late movie bumper too!
Vintage... I love & miss these old bumbers... You know since we now have a billion channels of crap on TV, good family TV is gone. Remember when we would all mark are spots on Sunday nights and watch the ABC Sunday Night!!! Oh those were the real days!!!
Come to think of it, this sort of looks like the bumper for the WLS 3:30 Movie in Chicago ca. 1975. I may only have been 5 at that time, but I recall the letter/number characters as that of the NFL on NBC(1985-88), and the shadowing behind them as a mix of purple and green, with the music in these notes C-F-E-C-a long C til the cutoff.
If you know any connections with KABC/KGO/WLS for their 3:30 Movie to put opening/closing/bumpers and music here, I say thanks.
Also, WABC-TV in New York showed "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner" on its own "Saturday Night Movie" at 11:30 PM on Sept. 12, 1981. Doubtless one of that station's announcers, the late Wally Parker, would've done the bumpers indicating the return of the film. (Apparently, ABC O&O's had the same flicks in their libraries.) What Saturday in 1981 was this from?
According to the continuity, this particular broadcast was during the second or third week of March from that mid-season. In contrast, Oddly enough, KABC's Saturday movies started at 11:45 PM, with ABC's World News Weekend Report as the lead-in.

@DavidYakima My pleasure, David. But classic TV is indeed coming back thanks to digital channels Antenna TV, Me-TV and Retro TV.

@jivepatrolmusic - Since you've apprised us of the composer, may you by any chance know the title of this instrumental and from where it originated?

@jivepatrolmusic Wow! Thanks for the info. Patrick did a great job composing this piece!

For those interested... the FuzzyMemories site from Chicago has the "3:30 Movie" intro and music, plus the 5-second pre-ad bumper.

Respectfully, nothing holds a candle to WABC's cameraman/music intro and bumpers.

Being from Los Angeles, CA, I must agree with you as I have seen the WABC movie bupmers here and love the music and the graphics!

Sounds like Ernie Anderson to me slightly.
But once again Terry, thanks for coming thru with one I've been searching for forever. I used to love hearing that music late at night.

Interesting . . . by the 1980's this was also the case on WABC, having the "Weekend Report" at 11:30 and the movies at 11:45.

The announcer sounds like the legendary Len Beardsley . . .
