  • Thumbs up if you think that there should be The Iron Giant 2

  • Comment removed

  • can't believe you didn't include that final scene which keeps our heart from borken :p

  • @yajennifer Yeah I hate when my heart gets BORKEN!! :D, just messin with ya.

  • 2:36. EPIC

  • @shadowcatlynx No shit.

  • not the giant......no no no. :(

  • Anyone else notice that the director of Iron Man completely ripped off the scene starting at 1:10 and especially at 1:23?

  • of course the asshole of the movie is a ginger

  • 5:00 "Say hello to my little friend!"... Seriously, i want that cannon, i watch this movie over and over again but no part beats this...

  • Sequel?

    No.

    Live action rendition...?

    Maybe...

  • @ZenithRise By Micheal bay?

    HOPEFULLY NOT. :3

  • I think there are certain protocols for launching a nuke. Maybe the giant was on a 25 kill streak, I don't know.... but come on. John Conner would know what to do.

  • Damn..if the giant kept memory of his mission, the earth and humanity would be wiped out in a little less than a day with all of those weapons! The giant is unstoppable. It can take tank shells, missles and it even survived a nuclear warhead. That is a dangerous piece of machinary!

  • 7:13 screw our country, i wanna live! Lol I laughed at this part.

  • i actually made the iron giant in mode nation racers and its really good

  • note how the sky turned red when the giant transformed

  • I miss when swearing was allowed in cartoons.

  • Where is the ending?

  • 2:36 best

  • IRON GIANT, THE BEST

  • how about the iron giant 2

  • lol the iron giant stars pwning their asses

  • well the guy who said fire the missile is a ginger!!!!

  • They say that 'Absolute power corrupts Absolutely' how then can we reconcile Absolute Power with Absolute Goodness? With what has become "the Moment" that will be remembered forever in this movie

    'Superman'

  • A Shining Star at the End of the Path of Illumination....

  • 5:05 insanity insues.

  • The Part where he turns into a big battling machine is fucking awesome

  • Why the fuck does the government even have a bomb that can kill us all? I thought they wanna live? Hella dumb assess I swear.

  • @AyePoLLo123 so they can kill everyone else in everyone else's country.. lso because its cool to threaten people with it (cold war)

  • @loopofpoop hahahaha woow duude....

  • I think they should make another movie about the iron giant and make him go to his planet and destroy the evil iron giants and go back to hogarth when he a adault and like defeat crime and like find life on other planets and bring a alien to earth and some how destroy evil and meet super man and by the way how do you email warner bros to make another movie p.s coooooooooool desinegrater and lasers asoume movie iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii rrrrrrrrrrrulllllllllllleeeeeeeee and i ran out of letters

  • They should have made Iron Giant II !!!!!!!!!!

  • wow, never piss him off

  • this movie is so epic

  • lol random guy "You asshole, my family was in that house!!"

  • dude iron giants attack mode pwns!

  • du hast das HAPPY END ausgelassen ,dass danach noch kommt...=( aber sonst thx fürs reinstellen 5*

  • "Screw our country, I wanna LIVE!!!"

    xP ROTFLMFAO

i couldnt breathe thie first time i saw that part wen i was lyk 8

  • and still cannot type tsk tsk

  • its a comment not an essay

no one really gives a shyt

i type the way i text cuz its faster

not important if i get sumthin wrong its

not gonna kill me or ruin my lyf...

  • 4:49 damn hogar can run fast

  • Such Love keeps me standing in awe...unforgettable....

  • 1:10 is where I guess Ironman got that whole Fighter Jet scene.

  • Except the Iron Giant didn't cling to the underside of the jet. lol

  • 7:02 'we can duck and cover'. If u see the flash, duck and cover... LOL!

9:30 Isn't that nuclear explosion at very high altitude going to unleash an EMP over a large part of the Earth's surface?

  • i think he said:

"we can duck and cover! Theres a fallout shelter right by here-"

i always go like: GENIUS! when he says that bit

  • I know! That's what the safety videos were like during the cold war. I hate people who act like they're all patriotic and know what they're doing. But, when it's their doom, then they run away from it like Heinrich Himmler.

  • @Jonhny2 the nuke exploded in outer space, i dought the radiation would reach us

  • @omegashinobi

nuclear missles have been test exploded in space many times, the radiation reacts with the upper atmostpher and dissapates rapidly with nothing to interact with out there. there was an instance where they publicized it and encouraged people to watch the display which looked just like the animation coloring, the blues and the greens from the hydrogen being excited

  • taking a nuke to the face, now that's got to hurt

  • Man, those ten minutes are most I've ever seen of this movie, but still tears sprung up in my eyes.

  • True Superman....

  • few pieces of western animation are as moving as this, possibly none, not to dimish western animation but this is really a jem among this era, the way the music reaches a point as the missile stops rising and starts falling, genius.

  • the best movie ever

  • so sad

  • Well, actually the movie goes on for about 5 more minuites after this. Hogarth gets some friends, Dean and Hogarths mom get together. Dean finds a piece of the iron giant a couple days later. And that night you hear a tapping, and the piece dean gave him is rolling against the window trying to get out. Camera pans out and zooms in into iceland, and it show's the giants head, and his eye's are open and he smiles. While pieces roll towards his head.

A Very Happy ending in the end

  • Thanks Warners Bros for delivering another great movie that turned out to be a box office bomb

  • who would name their son hogarth?

  • Got this on DVD recently, and needless to say I'm happy.

To the guy who said it was "one of the most honest and moving animated movies for a long time"... I couldn't have said it better myself. Truely an underrated piece of animation.

  • Shit...I'm a dude and this part even makes me get misty. I love this movie.

  • @diesel7777777 me too bro!!

  • WOW!!! Irongiant is mad. RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!!! Man, he is so awsome!

  • "You are what you chose to be"

    "Superman .."

I could cry right now :(

  • most powerful moment in the whole movie... :(

  • just cool when he gose in to gun mode.

  • I cried so much when the giant told the boy "no following" :´(

  • dude, he can kill the whole world, and he probably wont even get a scratch haha

  • lol he will never die. trust me. haha he is like a god. check out his guns man!!!!! holy shit he can kill the whole world!

  • i orgasmed at 5:14

  • lol The people should have cheered WAY more than that!!!

  • at the end he is in antartica fixing up cuase after he blew up the genral the guy with the sun glasses found the jaw screw to the giant and at night the screw was alive like it was blinking a blue light =)

  • i cried when he said "superman"

anhhhh burst into tears.........i was nine.

Great film though, if they made a real actor film, they better not screw it up.

  • i hope they dont.

    that would ruin the franchise

  • i like his movments when he attacked the soldiers! xD

  • Thanks for sharing !

  • 0:08 F-86 Sabers

  • 00:13 remarcable view with the battleships

  • my little bro used to love this movie and he still likes it.

  • just amazing! great memories =)

  • u think they will ever make a sequel?

  • Nahh, and even if they do, what will they make it on?

  • hey what happened to the part when the little kid finds out the giants is alive and this screw thing starts moving and theirs also a statue if him?

  • HE is the man of steel

  • This has absolutely nothing to do with Marvel's "Iron Man" at all. It is based on "The Iron Man" by Ted Hughes Look it up, and, better still, read it.. Its themes have been cleverly transposed here to 50s America, and in doing so created one of the most honest and moving animated movies for a long time. This juvenile nonsense about whether the robot flies or not is irrelevant.

  • if i ever hear the siren. i dunno what id do.

  • this is beatiful movie

  • what kind of person thinks that iron man copied iron giant roflmao maybe its innocent, must be kids on youtube because iron man has been flying the way iron giant does for decades before iron giant came out, everybody needs to chillout, kids will learn ; ) and idiots wont...

  • 9:20 yeah its superman i love the movie

  • even if the iron giant is a super weapon designed by aliens, he still saved the lives of many humans, and not even a nuclear bomb killed him. nice job!

  • Both the 1999 film,"The Iron Giant",and the 2007 film,"Ratatouille",should have a Sequel.

  • I have no clue,maybe.

  • thats great, people just stand there hugging while the nuke is coming.

  • lol the military could use the metal from the giant to make some sort of supermachine. if a whole army with fighter jets and battleships cant defeat it than another country would find it very hard to destroy it.

  • Great robot

  • 3:21 lol

  • 7:13

  • Hey uh heres somethin.THE GIANT COULD OF SHOT THE MISSILE!

  • maaaan, that sort of ending would make the ending sooooo much more AMAZINGLY AWESOME. on another note, they (should have) made a iron giant 2.

  • Yea, and risk missing the one chance he had to prove once and forever to whole wide World that ...HE IS NOT A GUN?!

  • ITS WAR OF THE WORLDS!!!

i like his spine gun-thingys, they look like cobras on crack

  • Hurrah for widespread radioactive fallout.

  • I'm pretty sure that the nuke was a low-scale (tactical) Hydrogen bomb

i.e. low amounts of radioactive emission.

  • A hydrogen bomb still requires a fission "trigger". The fission stage has a minimum size (critical mass), so some fission byproduct is inevitable, contributing to radioactive fallout--which I assume is what you mean by "radioactive emission." ALL of a nuclear weapon's yield comes from radiation, mostly in the form of soft x-rays that superheat the surrounding atmosphere, creating the blast wave.

There is no such thing as a "tactical" H-bomb. Adding a fusion stage is meant to increase yield.

  • hmm...

Thanks for the heads up, I never knew that...

Now I have to check that

  • I love the bit at 5:56 where he he transforms, I LOVE HOW his hands swings back from being agun!

  • nice

  • the final part should include the funny re assemblying of the giant :-)

  • Comment removed

  • why cant he just shoot it down? with his big guns

  • Because that wouldn't be nearly as dramatic and emotional. :)

  • Because the boy just told him guns are bad!

  • he didn't want to be a gun, he want to be like superman.

  • Because it was the one chance he had to give his greatest gift to a friend...that he has resolved forever not to be a gun, even at the cost of his life.

  • well he nver died :)

  • I disagree, as long as he dismembered he is is to be pronounced dead....

  • His parts were rejoining. He is only dead as long as nobody knows he is alive. Remember, he is a robot that can easily repair himself from being blown to parts. as long as he is functional, no mater how many pieces hes in, he's alive. Honestly, Im sad we never got a sequel.

  • this is the best film that has ever been done!!! I grew up with this film and i love this film and i hope i will die with one CD of this film in my hand!!

  • they sure seem calm for the fact that they're about to die.

  • Actually you'd be surprised. I used to work with a man who worked in local government in the Cold War era. Their nuclear warning alarm went off by mistake one day and he said that he looked out the window and everyone was just standing their looking forlorn until four minutes passed. When there's nowhere to run and fate seems certain... what do you do?

  • god, i can't imagine what a relief that must have been for them when it turned out to be a false alarm!!

  • I seriously have no clue what I'd do. This movie is really powerful

  • you can fly?????.... you can fly¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ that is amazing

  • this scene is my favorite. I like when the giant uses his weapons to fight the army.

  • same here i loveed it and i thought it was so cool that i wanted a toy that could shot like that xD (sorry bad english)

  • 2:38-5:16 like the hulk in robot formed. They got the giant pissed!

  • Bullshit!

  • LOL @ 7:14.

  • i wish someone would include the rest of the ending :/

  • It looks like hl2 technology

  • superman.

  • I will always love this movie. It's a memento of my childhood.

  • Random interesting fact: Vin Diesel is the voice of the Giant. You can kind of tell, despite how little he actually talks. I just thought that was kinda cool.

  • When he says "no atomo" you can hear its diesel, otherwise, i barely notice

  • a very sad movie and very epic :D i was so happy at the last scene when we see he still alive

  • iron giant is awesome, this is my favorite part too

  • I remember seeing it in dutch. Great movie when I was a kid

  • Because he's a killer robot from a war-torn alien race. The bump on his head must have erased his orders and most memories, his orders being to wipe out the earth.

  • I think the point is being able to choose what you want to be.

If he's programmed to only attack when fired upon, I don't think his purpose is automatically to destroy the Earth. It's probably a condition: if Earthlings are just war-loving savages, then get rid of them. If not, help them out.

Seems like an OK idea, I guess. Only show your strengths when someone else tries to mess with you. It's a good thing this is a kid's movie, or he might've decided to stay a gun.

  • 2:25-2:31 ;___;

  • Aaaw, "Superman" :')

I've watched the full movie, and after I found out that the giant is still alive I nearly died of happiness. :D

But it still kinda watered my eyes <__<

  • The expression on that guy's face at 3:36 says it all. LOL!

  • Never piss off a giant! Brilliant film, my favourite film of all time.

  • Iron Giant is awesome when he transforms to a "destroyerbot" AWESOME! but this whole movie is AMAZING! I've watched this many times when I was kid ;) 5 STARS!

  • It must be a Iron giant 2 I love this movie I watch like every week =D

  • iron man movie copied the flying part of iron giant..=.=

  • OMG i can't take it anymore. People who don't know the facts continue to post online and give wrong information.

Please people, from cartoons to politics, if u don't know the facts, don't talk.

Iron Man was created in 1963 the Iron Giant came out in 1999.

    Who copied who...

    Sigh...

  • omg the iron man movie 2008 fucker.

    sigh.=.=

  • My point exactly. Iron Man has been flying since 1966. If there is anyone who copied "the flying part" - it's the animation director of 1999's The Iron Giant.

And don't be acting all tough calling me a "fucker" behind the safety of your monitor, or i'll come over there and bitch slap you, you cocky little 18 year old prick.

Are you even legal in your country?

Maybe you should watch your mouth and show some respect to those who are older than you and obviously know more.

  • 0.0 are u threatning me?????........fag

  • I think you should fuck yourself you racist bastard. You should grow up with this retarded comments. We just wanna watch this and without some arrogrant retarded making bad comments.

  • Thats a lot of tough talk coming from a 14 year old, hiding behind the safety of his monitor...

And i'm not racist you little boy.

Watch your mouth and enjoy the cartoon.

  • aqctually the 2008 MOVIE copied the part when he is fliying at 1:23

  • That makes more sense. I can agree with you now that i look at it. You mean the copied the scene setup and areal choreography.

    Totally yeah : )

  • ohh so u gonna hack my monitor??? ok well see about that >=]

  • this movie is so sad but good!

  • look at 4:50...

"Holy ****, hogarth can run fast, and after a bad injury too."

  • wow... listen @ 8:09-8:11 while Giant is staring @ the weapon. is it me, or does it sound like he said "fuck this"? lol

  • Actually... no. Not at all. Not unless you aren't a fluent English speaker. O_o Clearly sounds like "I fix" to me. As it should. XD

  • I wish you'd put the end on here, but anyways, thanks!

  • This was a great movie, one of my favorite movie i saw since i was a kid.

It's hard believing for myself. that the stupid people from the review rate it

    1/2 out of 5.

    :(

  • aww they forgot the radiation that destroys biomass at a cellualar stadium

  • One of the greatest films of all time, IMO.

  • One of my favorite movies. I still have this on VCR. My mom doesnt like watching this because of the end but she likes overall.

  • giant would make a great transformer

  • i made a lego iron giant

  • Comment removed

  • You guys think the Giant was glaring at Mansly like that because he could sense how slimy he was deep down? It gave me heart-ache to see the Giant leave when I first saw this. "Hogarth you stay, I go. No following." Obviously means he plans to go in the town's stead as well as Hogarths. And he wanted Hogarth to keep on living for the Giant, no matter what. Pretty touching way to put it simply. And it was a masterpiece of an ending to end it with hope that the Giant would come back.

  • 9:25, cue big girly tears

    I love this movie

  • I cry every time.

  • Me too. It boils down to choice, you choose to help and be selfless.

  • He's awesome when he transforms and when he sacrifices himself at the end.

  • "Screw our country! I wanna live."

    Bastard.

  • thats what happens when you fuck witha kind giant to long...

  • this just proves how people are too quick to judge. i want to b his friend! as long as he doesnt blow me up!

  • this
