The video never said the child would become homeless, per se. The child said his parents would have to sell the house. Paying a reasonable priced hospital bill would be a responsible thing to do but most of us should know by now that medical bills are excessive. The overinflated prices are so the insurance companies can negotiate them down by 40-60%.

First, kids are covered by S-CHIP. Secondly, although there is no progress without change, not all change is progress. The Dean of Harvard Medical school said the bills will increase cost, do nothing to improve quality, and have a major negative impact on our ability to innovate and develop new therapies. The Dean also said that the bill will make it harder to solve the health care problems.
The only way my kids will be screwed is if the democrats bankrupt the country with this bill.

I've come to the conclusion Socialist Liberalism is a mental disorder, it affects the brains ability to rationalize, deal with facts, or carry on civilized debates. Apprently we have no cure for Socialist Liberalism.
However, most of the American population doesn't have this disorder. A recent CNN poll found 61 percent are opposed to the health care bills, and the NBC/Wall Street Journal poll found that only 32 percent think the health care bills are a "good idea."

Great propaganda piece. It paints the opposition as child killers. Really argues the points. "Cause this isn't about statistics and numbers, this is about human lives" -Obama. Of course, statistics rarely help politicians do what they want, so it's gotta be about something else. I loved Obama once. But he is just a tyrant constrained by the constitution. Economic growth is the key to universal health care. But it's not as flashy and Obama will have a hard time getting credit for long term plans.

insurance companies are taking the money. i rather have most of it go to the government and it becomes a you got back and i got yours type health care system. we spend way to much money saving dying people or keeping them alive for a few weeks if we address their health problem at the start it wouldn't cost the system as much but people do wait till its too late because they don't have healthcare

I am awake. Have been awake. Are you one of those "sleeping giants"? Hospitals want their money at the time of service. If you do not have any health insurance or enough money to pay at time of service, you either go bankrupt or start selling the assets, period.

I want to sue Eric Hurt for presenting the fictional scenario that a broken leg caused the first child to go homeless. Talk about a credibility issue!! I want to hear how the heck that is going to happen! What fool sells their home to pay a medical bill?!?! EVEN IF IT WAS 10 million dollars, that wouldn't happen in a sane world.

The video never said the child would become homeless, per se. The child said his parents would have to sell the house. Paying a reasonable priced hospital bill would be a responsible thing to do but most of us should know by now that medical bills are excessive. The overinflated prices are so the insurance companies can negotiate them down by 40-60%.

It is an ad. It didn't say anything but implies everything. When the average watcher hears "My Dad had to sell our house..." that sounds like 'homeless and poor'.
What is never mentioned is figures. Why don't they use real situations and real figures. If the truth is that prices are over-inflated, then it should be obvious from the numbers. Then lets see what people actually pay.
Reality can be a real stinker sometimes.

Our government already has a losing track record with the current government ran healthcare(Medicare and veterans healthcare) what makes us think socializing the whole healthcare system would be any different. When you compare us to Western Europe dont look at the life expectancy of those countries; look at survivability rates for cancer and other terminal illnesses we beat them in all categories. Do not mistake health coverage for healthcare.

Medicare, Medicaid, Veterans healthcare, and other taxpayer subsidized HC (govt., teachers, police etc) has saved many lives. How many Seniors do you know that could pay for the healthcare they receive? I know most cannot. How many Seniors can afford the nursing home they are in? Where would they be if it was not for a taxpayer subsidized healthcare program paying? In the street or dead? Again, taxpayer subsidized HC programs (& scientific research) has saved many lives.

Amen. People just want the fed to pad every wall in our society. If they want that, we should all be in straight jackets. The funny thing is that, in a backhanded way, that law is an admission by feminists that women lack the capacity to make their own decisions or exercise adult responsibility. Did you know in some states, if the woman attempts to drop the charges (say, if she falsified them), she can be arrested, held in jail, and forced to testify. This is "the victim", we're talking about.

Women are supposedly so weak, the man may be exerting control on them while in prison. It's also a subtle admission that it would be much easier to prosecute men if we could remove those pesky civil rights that entitle them to a presumption of innocence and a fair trial. You can almost hear Joe Biden saying "We could protect women, but one thing stands in the way: it's that damned 'beyond a reasonable doubt' thing". Innocent men are just collateral damage in the war on domestic violence to him.

Ever noticed when some one gets sick or injuried in your community. Notice the donation jars, from Americans needing help with the cost of treatment. I know of such so called vital documents. Funny how those founding fathers stated that all men are created equil. Yet they owned slaves. Tens of thousands of American Citizens die every year because they are not insured and the medical industry is not obligated to treat them - Period!! If people do not get behind this legislation - you will get what you deserve - screwed for the rest of your life and your kids life. The bill has flaws; no bill is perfect. In time will it get better - most do.

First, kids are covered by S-CHIP. Secondly, although there is no progress without change, not all change is progress. The Dean of Harvard Medical school said the bills will increase cost, do nothing to improve quality, and have a major negative impact on our ability to innovate and develop new therapies. The Dean also said that the bill will make it harder to solve the health care problems.
The only way my kids will be screwed is if the democrats bankrupt the country with this bill.
