on the mainstream thing, i agree they're mainstram now. i would LOVE to see them make an album like tormented, dysfunction, or even break the cycle.
i love staind. theyre my favorite band ever. but it would be so cool if they made a non-mainstream album. raw like theyre dysfunction. Im finding myself listening to dysfunction more and more and stuff like the illusion of progress less and less. OLD STAIND FOREVER!!!
Staind is, hands down, my favorite band. I love their music; it's saved my life when I've been down and couldn't seem to get back up. I can relate to most of what they sing about, and because of their experiences I have a tremendous amount of respect for them. Staind rocks!
I've been listening to metal/rock/prog for 30 yrs now and Staind stand out as one of the best...have you guys ever stopped to wonder they may not wanna be mainstream...who they makes them what they are......
Sorry i love Staind to bits... But they sound mainstream, maybe not the early albums but ever since break the cycle got them fame it has got more and more mainstream sounding on every album... The lyrics are so good that it doesn't matter how mainstream they get if you ask me
Just my opinion, i don't want to start an argument :) We all love them so that's cool
@sstrunks8000 They didn't sell out. Aaron sings about his life in everyone of his songs, even Tormented-Break The Cycle. He isn't the same pissed off guy he used to be.
This is defenitly their best album.. and no more critique concerning this being to soft or main stream - absolutely amazing album! Peaked by this, Yesterday, How abot you and Reality!
Good shit, staind will always be in my book of favorites. I've never been let down on ANY album, you get the full effect of Arron Lewis' Emotion. Such talent. Cheers everyone.
I agree, this is one of the most underrated songs that Staind sings, but i think all their music is underrated. They don't receive the credit they deserve in the music industry

I love this song so much--his vocals at the bridge are SOOOOOOOOO amazing, they make me melt! :D
I kinda feel like this sometimes: I'm being difficult and someone just doesn't understand, but I'm just being me...
Aaron Lewis is a God; he writes amazingly deep lyrics that resonate with people. :)

there's a small mistake in the lyrics
it isn't "could it be that my haven is to find a place to hide?"
" it's could it be that my habit is to find a place to hide?"
just wanted to help out

song does everything it was intended too. idk how he does it, but his words combined weith his voice could pierce the thickest of souls i think.

I wonder how he writes his songs cause he is so good at it.
JLA12301985 3 years ago 2
if you look at the lyrics...most of the songs are about drug addiction..so maybe his inspiration is reflection on past exp or mistakes...theres a tip
