Here is something all MK fans might not now. In the game MK you first need to do two things before you meet Shang Tsung. First endurance. To meet many opponents in a row (like in this scene). Then you must face yourself. But in the game you litterally have to face yourself. To fight a copy of yourself. And maybe that was the original idea. But I guess it was to tricky to make it look real. So they just skipped that and sad "You will die!". And that was facing yourself..... Now you now that. :)

I'll explain why Liu Kang got a flawless victory. It was a Test Your Luck Match. Blocking was disabled for Shang Tsung, and health power ups came from the ceiling. Liu Kang picked one up at 7:46, which is why he got a flawless victory. (People who have played MK9 will know what I'm talking about). :)
