Thanks. It's not particularly hard to play with a bit of practice. Like any bent instrument you have to get accustomed to the new controls and how they react witht he machine and each other but this one is fairly straightforward and takes a few minutes to get your head around. The delay synths i make take a bit of getting the hang of but once you know what you're doing with them they sound really cool.
The last two i made had the power socket obscured. i'm now making them with a port machined into one of the wooden ends to allow you to plug an adapter into them.
Cheers. I ran out of 87's so cracked open this 82 and having never worked on one before ended up going off on one and adding more stuff. All the 87's from here on out will be based on this. I'm trying to figure out a way to house all the mods i do on vl's into the vl casing while still including a 1/4 inch output. Not the easiest task in the world given the tiny size...
i bent one of these too, mine is less stable but looks really cool. it has cool blinking leds that add a vibrato
