I lost my best friend in a car accident caused by a drunk driver back in 2008. I am so sorry for your loss. The people who do this are so selfish. I hate it. :(
Some times we can't control the death of a loved one due to illness or an innocent accident. This is 100% preventable. The very first DUI whether an accident was involved or not should come with more harsh penalties. How many of our loved ones have to be killed due to some one's poor decision? When they sober up are they crying for themselves or the guilt they feel? Just sickens me.

When I was about 21 years old, a friend telephoned me to say that a very close friend of mine was dead. No warning, no notice, no clue; one day he was here and the next day he was gone. He was thrown about 20 feet up into the air because one guy decided that it was his right to drive drunk. One guy thought he knew what he was doing when he got behind the wheel. About three blocks from his own home, while walking home, this friend was murdered by some fool who was driving --drunk.
If you drive and you are drunk, or if you drive and have even only one drink, (or smoke pot while driving or before driving), you are a criminal waiting to happen. You have no right to get behind the wheel of any vehicle if you are drunk or if you have been drinking. You have NO right. No excuses, no reasons. There are no excuses for driving drunk --NONE. Do not do it, and if you decide that you need to do it, know this, that one day you will be behind bars and you will never be free.

@mw2cod4blackops .....They do make a cars with breathelizers in them and they won't start if you've been drinking. I know that because my brother plans on getting one because hes a recovering alcoholic and he doesn't want to get behind the wheel if hes been drinking. I think these should be standard equipment in all vehicles. Me and my husband were almost killed 2 yrs ago when we were rear ended by a drunk driver..sad thing the cops let him go. Stacy would not get away with that in the state of Arizona. They have the strictist laws in all 50 states when it comes to DUI. Very sad ....RIP Summer
So sorry for your loss. The driver should have never been given her license back. It sickens me that after all the pain she caused by her selfish actions, that she would ever drink again, let alone drive under the influence.

I am very sorry for your loss. At the risk of sounding insensitive (which I can assure you I am not) I actually admit that I feel badly for the girl who is responsible for the crash. She made an absolutely terrible and heartless decision, and she will have to live with the guilt for the rest of her life. TO SUMMER'S Parents and family; I saw this at 3:30 am this morning and woke up both of my sons, age 26 and 28, and hugged them and told them I loved them. They both thought I'd lost my mind untill I told them why; then they hugged me back and we cried for your little angel. Why was the girl not charged with SOMETHING? Maybe drinking should be outlawed..it IS a drug. It ruins everything! The girl who killed Summer looked completely destroyed as well. Families are destroyed. But still everyone wants to drink the one last drug that's pushed. I never touch it. I lost both my daughters. Alcohol just a big lie.

My friend lost her sister when we were both 3, 13 yrs ago. Her sister was 8 also & was run over by some lady that was on her cellphone not paying attention. My friend is an only child now & her mom sadly seems forever depressed. I just wonder what life could've been like if her sister wouldn't have been killed. A misdemenor? In Texas, that would have been involuntary manslaughter and without alot of money and the best defense lawyer, this 21 y/o drunk slug would have done a minimum of 10 years! The penalties must be made harder. If not intense prison time, then NO LICENSE or driving priveledges...EVER! And she should be made to work in a morgue and only deal with children killed by drunk drivers! I am sorry for your loss. Nothing can prepare even the strongest person for this sort of tragedy!

@mw2cod4blackops they have such a thing for ppl who get busted for that..its a device they install so that the person has to breath into the tube, if they are clean, the car will start, if not, it wont..and there's nothing stopping them from having someone else blow in the tube. they are supposed to be coming out with a device that only THAT person can breath into.. based on dna

@mw2cod4blackops .....They do make a cars with breathelizers in them and they won't start if you've been drinking. I know that because my brother plans on getting one because hes a recovering alcoholic and he doesn't want to get behind the wheel if hes been drinking. I think these should be standard equipment in all vehicles. Me and my husband were almost killed 2 yrs ago when we were rear ended by a drunk driver..sad thing the cops let him go. so sorry for your loss ! we lost our son to a hear defect 19 years ago! I have been an E.M.T. for over twenty years and so wish there was a way to stop the drinking and driving and makes me sick to pick up the same drunks driving over and over in accidents ! don't know the answer but maybe the should show your beautiful but so very heart wrenching video to teens in driving school !over the limit means nothing don't drink anything at all and drive reflexes go before the limit!Summer matters RIP!

I am very sorry for your loss. At the risk of sounding insensitive (which I can assure you I am not) I actually admit that I feel badly for the girl who is responsible for the crash. She made an absolutely terrible and heartless decision, and she will have to live with the guilt for the rest of her life. I always tell my friends not to drive drunk, because they could easily find themselves in this girls situation. They couldn't live with themselves.. RIP sweet Summer <3

TO SUMMER'S Parents and family; I saw this at 3:30 am this morning and woke up both of my sons, age 26 and 28, and hugged them and told them I loved them. They both thought I'd lost my mind untill I told them why; then they hugged me back and we cried for your little angel. Why was the girl not charged with SOMETHING? My friend lost her sister when we were both 3, 13 yrs ago. Her sister was 8 also & was run over by some lady that was on her cellphone not paying attention. My friend is an only child now & her mom sadly seems forever depressed. I just wonder what life could've been like if her sister wouldn't have been killed. Her name was Lauren, which I used as my confirmation name. How could people be so careless driving? For you to go on like you do takes so much strength. I am praying for you. God Bless.

A misdemenor? In Texas, that would have been involuntary manslaughter and without alot of money and the best defense lawyer, this 21 y/o drunk slug would have done a minimum of 10 years! The penalties must be made harder. If not intense prison time, then NO LICENSE or driving priveledges...EVER! And she should be made to work in a morgue and only deal with children killed by drunk drivers! I am sorry for your loss. Nothing can prepare even the strongest person for this sort of tragedy!

im so sorry for your lost this brought me back memories from when i was in third grade a kid in my class went to go after a hurt bird, the driver wasnt looking and ran him over. Sadly the funeral had a closed casket and i never was able to forget the day my teacher brought us the news. its makes me so cautious when driving and even walking because people can hit you not just from dui's but texting n driving to. r.i.p lil angel
