  • HEY! New documentary on the desert scene has a new trailer on youtube. Won't let me do a link, but search " Lo Sound Desert (Trailer 2012) " Features Homme, Alfredo, Brant, Nick, Eddie Glass and even some shots of my old and current bands (Solarfeast and HORNSS). Spread the word, as they're looking for some funding to finish the thing.

  • Fu manchu and kyuss? jeez badass.

  • John getting down with the demons @2:10

    "666 MILES PER HOURRR"

  • THE MESSIAH HAS RETURNED, and is playing bass in kyuss.

  • Meanwhile Kthulhu is being drawn back in the Great Abyss but he holds on firmly to his bass to finish the song.

  • Ive watched this video for over a year now and it only gets better.

  • Reed moves like his bass sounds evil/dark love it.

  • Hell yeah! Kyuss at its best: rocking across intergalactic space then bringing it all home.

  • thx for sharing !

  • what bass is he using?

  • @knergh It's a lefty Rickenbacker 4001.

  • a hand full of strong sedetive, and hasish... a sunny day, and some old kyuss footage. just enough to make me feel normal

  • was that at the dragonfly?

  • Possibly the funkiest solo of all time...

  • KYUSS! DAMN!

  • Scott Reeder has an insane plucking hand fingerstyle. Does anyone have an idea what it's called or how he does it?

  • @lavinus I noticed Geezer was doing something similar in the Black Sabbath live in Paris video from 1970

  • @thejacksaints - spot on. One of the best examples is when Sabbath played Live Aid - keep your eyes on Geezers fingers during Paranoid.

  • @lavinus It's an advanced technique called "beating the hell out of the strings."

  • @lavinus It's pretty bloody hard to copy, in my opinion. Start off by playing on the neck (obviously) and pulling your fingers way back before every hit with your wrist... then when you hit it it's somewhere between a tap and a pluck. Then start doing it really hard. I still can't hit the bottom two strings as hard as he does.

  • @lavinus, it;s called reedering

  • PLEASE UPLOAD MORE

  • I like the fact that this video hasn't got a single dislike :)

  • o wow holy shit nvm, he looks really young

  • no Josh?

  • unfortunately no Brant Bjork on the drums...

  • Klasse Video, Respekt !

  • This is my BOOMSTICK!Scott Reeder, what a fucking legend.

  • i like this a lot!!!!!!!

  • The lineup that night was Kuyss, Fu Manchu and Sugartooth. I was there. Weird venue that alternated as a rock club on some nights and also some kind of strip/S&M club on others. There were little rooms in back where I guess people got their private dances when the place was a strip club. In between bands they were showing weird videos of people getting their genitalia pierced on TV. It was trippy. Excellent, memorable show.

  • One of my favorite bands right here.. Homme & Reeder are fucking stupendous

  • nice quality! ur a lucky man btw

  • from 1.31 to 1.36 you can see nick oliveri to joshes right, dude had long hair for a while:P

  • This really is some of the best footage of kyuss live i have found. really love it :D

thanks alot for uploading this awesome magic.

kyuss are one of our main influences!

  • LEGENDARY

  • i envy that you got to see these bands back in the day!

  • I wanna know what conditioner those guys were using. @iannnc the song is Gardenia

  • I'm uploading another song from this show tonight or tomorrow. only had time to dump one more tune, sorry!

  • what song is this? i like it

  • @iannnc The song is called Magic unicorn

  • I saw them at a tiny bar in Grand Rapids later this summer, and Garcia was so toasted they had to carry him on the stage, then they carried him off durring the jam portion of 50 Million Trip, and Josh sang most of the remaining songs. But Garcia was the same way, rolling around on stage. The bass shook the crap right out of my colon.

  • did nick replace scott or the other way around???

  • scott replaced nick..

  • Nick make guest vocals in some fews Kyuss gigs but he dont replace scott

  • @34canadianman I think the other way around

  • im all for creating your own guitarsound and going your own way, but I would drown a kitten for the one josh has there. specially the one during the solo:O

  • LOL I like how you put that. I've heard that Josh will purposely lie about or just not answer questions regarding his pedals and equipment he uses and I can understand that. It's important to have a unique sound.

  • The sound comes from his fingers

  • Comment removed

  • that was kick ass

  • is that nick oliveri next to josh on 1:31?

  • sure looks like it

  • yes it is

  • Que alfredo se la aprenda, al principio no sabe cuando entrar xDD

de ahí se confunde cuando entra la voz xD

    GRANDE KYUSS MIERDA !!!!

    QUE VUELVAN !!!!!

    ES MOCIÓN POPULAR !!!

  • if only john candy was alive to see this

  • Woah, perfect vid. Hey, Josh's hair is normal.

  • Define normal.

  • saw them on this tour - this brings the memories back big time! KYUSS!!!

  • josh home you are the best guitarest period.

  • this is fucking awesome, super quality like being there live!

  • I think I saw that white rickenbacker behind scott. in a video from the raji's gig, nick was playing it, from 1990

  • That can't be true. Nick was right handed and Scott left, and the rickenbacker behind Scott is left-handed.

  • oh wow, thanks, it just looks so much like nick's.

  • Best quality video i've seen of kyuss

  • Best band ever. Apologies to Los Natas and Colour Haze. Honourable mention to Thumblock and Bud Prana.

  • los natas - ciudad de brahman

    FTW

  • Yep. Check out Thumblock dude, they are amazing.

  • it's an Ovation Ultra GP

  • what kind of guitar is that

  • here it comes................. it's an electric guitar. BOOM BAM BOOM, hoooooo.

no, it's an Ovation GP, bout $2,000 on e-Bay.

  • thanks

  • fucking great quality right here.. just on youtube xD

  • this lineup is fucking awesome

  • This is the third best lineup. This lineup with Brant instead of Alfredo was better. Then the second lineup(Nick,Josh,John, Brant) was second. This lineup was third...then the lineup with Chris is last.

  • I like this lineup better than the one with Nick. Other than that I agree.

  • Does anyone know why Nick left Kyuss in the first place?

  • epic perform here, with amazing guitar of josh.

  • Great Scott Reeder!!;).

  • One blow till I'll take ya' down, I'll take ya down

One smoke and your head spins around and around .....hell yeah kyuss as its best

  • Looks like Nick is watching from the side of the stage.

  • @URD1nl yea, he was probably in the dwarves or blag dahlia at the time.

  • Blag Dahlia, cuz the Dwarves stop playing for a long time after the Sugarfix tour (That was in 1993, Nick Oliveri was playing Rhythm guitar back then, not bass)

  • GARDEEENIAAAAAAA !! fucking love this song. Maybe this is best song from Kyuss. anyway I love the way how reeder headbangs on this one

  • Thank u for this great video thejacksaints!

  • WOW! I got the same video of this whole gig but

it's not even half of this quality.

This must be original raw version.

Could you please put this some where so we can download it and rip it to dvd.

  • Niiiiiiice.

Do you have any old Fu manchu clips?

    1996 and earlier..

  • yeah, I'll upload some in a month or so

  • Somewhere I have Fu Manchu playing in Palm Springs 1993

  • Nice, I really wanna know how Eddie was in Fu.

+ I like the old CD's. IN search of is awesome.

Thanks again for this clip, high quality as well ;D

  • @thejacksaints Two guys named Scott Reeder XD

  • @mangomariel I saw my first Fu Manchu in 1989. Back when my buddy was the second guitar player. As a matter of fact I bought his amp after a show at the Doll Hut.

It was a Lab Series. Another friend of mine has a bunch of old Fu Manchu shows on tape( warehouse parties, clubs, etc...) Those were the good old days!!!!!

  • Thank you for this. NEVER have I seen or heard this performance.
