Disgustingly pathetic. Water is at a premium and these morons are spraying it on the outside at flames that escape the structure. GET INSIDE AND GET THE WET STUFF ON THE RED STUFF!
I was about 11 the time this happened and save my mom and now im 16 and we rebuilt a new bigger log home right on the old foundation and we have sprinklers in our house so we dont have to deal with the firefighters if another fire happens.
A response to NSResponder is we did have three ponds and a above ground swimming pool behind our house and the reasond the firemen wouldn't use that water before it got out of hand was they said it would dirty their hoses. So all they did most of there time there was have a snack wagon come and give them gatorade and donuts. If you google maps the address you could see the ponds and in the plastic green house is our swimming pool.
You cant draft from ponds if there it to much crap in the water (it will clog the pumps) and you have to be able to park a fire truck within 20 feet of the waterline. You cant suck water from just any source.
you can draft from ponds rivers streams all you have to have is a floating strainer on the end of your hard suction we do it all the time on our fires....

Great video. Shows what happens when structure is too involved and water supply is a problem. That is a potential problem in many areas of my district too. Add to that the home is made out of logs, and there is little that can be done except to protect exposures. Thanks for the video.
