What a great WC! I wish there were more like this. So many good players, playing at the their top level. This was one of most balanced Cup ever.. almost any team could have won it. The later WCs seem to be kinda predictable and the players just don't give that much importance anymore... and btw Hagi was great but Romario basically won the Cup for Brazil, he was the best.

I agree with Pelé and say that Hagi's goal against Colombia should be nr 1 of the entire tournament... such a long-distance shot but he buried it. Your no1 is great too but it's not in my opinion quite as amazing as scoring from - what, 30m? Brolin was one-on-one with the goalkeeper there, whereas Hagi had maybe ten players, Romanian and Colombian, between him and the net.

This was a beautiful, beautiful World Cup. I was 11 at that time, and watched every game that Brazil played.

There were many great goals, no doubt!

However, Branco's goal against Holland was a piece of art. I remember when Holland tied the game 2-2, my family and I were really nervous. When Branco kicked that rocket tho....I exploded! we were yelling so loud we didn't know how to contain ourselves.
