  • ur too cool

  • I watched the video from start to end! Do I win a prize? D:

    Just kidding. :P

Psh, you probably couldn't think of many stereotypes because, as you said, you haven't had much of a problem with homophobes. Personally, I get reminded on a daily basis of how much of an "abomination" I am. Hurray abominations! o_o

  • been looking across your videos and you just got yourself a new subscriber.

  • i love gay people

    there awesome =]

  • too cute to have haters....

  • Did you ever tell your friend that you were in love with him?

I'm just wondering because I'm going through a similar problem, but I'm not sure if my friend is straight or not (she gives off way too many mixed messages for me to be sure).

  • Haha.. I too have a straight best friend.. sigh.. And I'm still in love with him :'(

  • That's cool that you had such an easy time coming out. I did too for the most part (I came out around 17 years old). The difficult part was my childhood. You're cool, I like your videos. You just won a subscriber. Australians rock.

  • It makes life a lot more easier i think once you first come out. It's just the foundation of.. oh my god, snore snore, sorry i'm probably boring u! haha. Thanks tho and i'm glad u like my vids, it's always nice to hear great feedback!!! :) ur most appreciated!

  • HA! so my gaydar DID work after all. How Filipino of you :D great work.

  • haha...that auntie bit...lol...too filipino...

  • oh. there's more of that when it comes to her and being too filipino!

  • lol

  • wow you know i never really knew that you were gay till like a week ago and i have been watching your vids for a while now hmmm so yah thats all

  • Serious?! HAHAHAHA. that's funny. sorry for the late reply, but now you know!

  • Aw Johnee, you're too much of a good guy to get any haters.

Gay or not, you're still one of the coolest I know :)...or at least virtually know...yeah!

  • Hi Johnee! congratulations for coming out! Kelan kaya ako? hehehe... Anyway, you're so fantastic and adorable. I love watching your videos. Can we be friends? I want to talk a lot of things to you? tell me how we can talk. Thank you!

  • You're adorable.

  • Great vid - I found it very interesting. Well to be honest, any video with you in it would be interesting (and hot). New subscriber and 5/5.

  • haha! thanks DoubleDare! I'm glad you found it somewhat.. well you say "very" lol, interesting :D I tend to babble alot!

  • YOUR GAY!?!?!

    you don't seem gay,

    well that aside,

    YOUR FREAKEN RAD.

  • haha! So missed this awesome comment! But thanks, for the compliment! There are a quite a few little gay sides of me that you might see in some of my vids haha.

  • this was cute.

  • Haha... "Gay+Johnee."

I know what you mean by loving your best "straight" friend... :( heartbreaking

    That "Half Pinoy" Kid,

    infused08

  • AhH! So didn't see this comment! But yeah, loving someone you know you can't ever be with sucks! Especially if it goes on for like maybe 2 years.. ha. sucky!

  • Hahaha I thought this video was very interesting :D It was really interesting learning about your ... um... gay-related life. haha.

    Wow! 3+ years. That's amazing. :)

  • It's fantastic! the 3+ years! And i'm glad u found the vid informing and interesting! :D I figured i wanted to do a vid like this. so yeah.

  • I hate you for having no haters *grrrr*

ok... I didn't do that well at hating...

actually I like your personality and way of being so open! *hugs* 5/5 Stars!

  • grrr! i like the grrr. That wasn't too bad at hating. maybe. but yes anyway, thanks for that and the stars! woot! :D I probably do have haters, they might just hate me enough to not even bother posting! lol

  • Wait really???? Like seriously I thought Your? Noooooo uhmmm really? I still think your straight :o like I have nothing wrong with gay people but all the gay people I know/seen are very flamboyant (Steryotype) yeah :S idk
  • lol. not all gay people are flamboyant :D as you said, stereotype.. but yeah, lol. I totally am! you can tell in some of my vids i think haha! :D

  • Well most of the gay people I have met are really flamboyant so its like weird to see a gay person who isn't :S

But I still like you anyways

  • Lol!

I watched it from start to finish, it was interesting..

I think that it's cool your so open =]

    I totally subscribed..once I seen the goofy 5 facts about you :]

    <3

  • Thanks for watching again! haha. I'm glad you found it not so boring haha. :D ah my 5 facts.. lol, the first was embarrasing!!

  • Dude, I could never hate you ^^ And yes I did watch the whole video (which was far from boring) and your other videos too; and I subscribed :P You're just really fun to watch.

That's cool about your current relationship as well. Hope it keeps going strong *cue dorky thumbs up*. Yesh, I'll go now XD

  • ooo *subscribes*

  • [sarcastically] u were joking. right.

lol JK! [randomly] potter puppet pals.

  • You're cool. I wish I was your boyfriend. Oh well! Have a good day.

  • hahahahaha u still see ally? who was the person was it shells ex bf?

  • It's really great that you're very open about it and that you are being true to yourself. and it wasn't boring I watched the whole way through!

  • I enjoy you.

Thanks for making this video and for being who you are.

    Peace.

  • Thanks for the comment it was sweet!!! :)

    hehehe.

  • dude i had no idea either good for you tho im glad its going well.

  • lol. it's going greatly! :) :) lol

  • just like justwatchin07 i had no idea. haha.

    its all good tho.

  • you're cute. love your accent ;)

  • You´re so cute aiii :D

  • cool video,it wasnt boring :D

    love the intro btw :D

  • to be honest, johnee, i didn't know you were gay :) good to know you aren't really super flamboyant, because some gay guys who are get obnoxious.

it makes me glad you are so honest about it and genuine about it.

oh, and another stereotypical "gay" sport = figure skating. My stepdad's a coach, and it makes me laugh when people equate being gay and figure skating, because straight guys do it too!

  • that pen was soo random. it like flipped outta nowhere.

  • Fantastic video! Stereotypes are so stupid, it's great that more and more people can just live as they want to, and make their own choices. It's no different than voting intention or favourite colour; it's a simple and acceptable choice.

  • I think yerocs5's comment below is pretty typical of people's thinking. Obviously all gay guys lisp when they speak, and mince when they walk, and of course love shopping and fasssssssshion. Nah, scrap that. They only thing all gay guys have in common is that they like guys. Ps. You have no accent :-0

  • hahaha! i totally agree. and YES i know i don't have an accent!! hehehe. it's just funny when ppl tell me.

  • Hehe, well ... I meant that because I'm Australian too. I heard it straight away, because you come to expect a US American accent, so I heard your lack of a different accent. In other words, you just talk normal ... they talk strange.

  • You random in the most fantastic and adorable way. You've got an awful lot more courage than me, kudos to you!!

  • are u really gay i couldn't tell

  • sure am! :) haha, there isn't a normal way to be able to tell if someone is gay.. i mean, like i was saying in the vid, stereotypes are so... general but you can't really always judge and rely on them to be able to tell if someone is gay or not :)

  • wow good 4 you mate.

wow its kinda weird saying that. damb me living it freakn canada and not being cool.

well i too have really let the ball go i told everyone at me new job i was all like shhhh before and now im like yah im gay deal with it. and its been wonderful i just wish i would have done it before. wow im watching like all your videos. i have know life right now. well not until my boyfreind comes home thens is partying from then on. lol

  • haha, Thanks! i'm glad they've kept you company til your bf gets home! That's so awesome about coming out at your new job! I still haven't at my new job, but only just cos it's so random bringing it up.. if they ever asked, I wouldn't lie. But yeah. :) have fun partayin' with ur bf!!!

  • you know what?

you look EXACTLY like my friend

who's gay, but he hasn't really realized it yet.

wow, its so freaky how much you look like him.

yeahh well, im straight, but like every gay guy i've met i've ended up becoming like best friends with them.

oh and by the way, i LOVE your accent

are you austrailian? cause im gonna be a foreign exchange student there next year.

  • Really? Hahaha, that's so cool that i have a lookalike! or maybe i'm the lookalike? lol. YaY! i find it amusing how you mention he's gay but doesn't realise it yet... have you tried hinting to him that you're ok about it if he ever said? lol. or is he just like really stereotypical?

YaY for gay best friends! hahahah.

i am australian, and thanks! It's so weird everytime someone says i have an accent lol. What are u studying?

  • well, he's just the kinda guy that you can't imagine with a girl ya know?

im not really sure how to describe it, i just get this weird vibe from him.

    must be gaydar i guess.

im not necessarily gonna study anything, im just staying with a family and attending a local high school for 4 months.

im excitedd, im just confused about what im gonna wear! i mean, do they wear the same stuff we wear in the states?

  • Ah... well, we do wear shirts and jeans... and last time i checked we also do wear shoes. haha, jokes buddy, i mean.. most high schools have a uniform.. but i'm sure it won't mater if you're an exchange student that wears casual. unless the school is private. but yeah, check it out with the fam!

  • comment. && i can think of more stereotypes. like that they're all cute. i say this constantly, but it's not true. not all gay guys are cute. anyways though...

yay for you for coming out! especially so young. you're lucky to have realized it so young. prob. helps you know who you are. i feel bad for all the people who don't realize it until there's like 29.

  • haha... that's so true (not all gay guys are cute)...

it's hard to realise it at around that age i think.. because there's just so many years that when you're younger, to just have more fun and to be yourself... but at least they'd have finally realised it at some point. Better that than living your whole life and not saying a thing.!

  • i really have no idea how hard it would be, but i can guess it'd be pretty hard. putting yourself in the position to be rejected. you have to be really sure of yourself && who you are, and know that you aren't going to let other people get to.

i also think that's part of the reason people don't come out often in high school. a lot of people in high school are really judgmental. && i'm sure it's hard to put yourself in a situation where you're going to be judged.

  • I loved you video:) Its nice to see how energetic you are=D and the things you talk about also make sense. I really liked it you are really cute and funny:)

  • aww thanks! i think i had a soft drink before i made the vid! lol. And thanks for the compliments.. really sweet of ya!!! :)

  • I liked it.

  • :) thanks mate

  • It totally wasn't boring lol!

I really enjoyed the video and it's awesome that you are open enough to talk about it on Youtube. I came out quite some time ago but, because I'm trying to study abroad in countries that aren't really "gay-friendly", I have to go back in... tis a weird feeling lol... anyway, keep up the good work.

  • Wow! What countries have you tried studying in? I must check out your vids, cos you've most likely answered it in one of them! I am currently "in" at my new job, it's hard.. probably one of the hardest places to come out since i first came out. I swear, i dunno how i'll do it, but yeah. :) Thanks for your comments.

  • Haha! It wasn't boring =p. You seem like a genuine person, not really trying to be one thing or another. You seem like you're just being yourself which is refreshing to see. ^_^ Kudos Johnee!

  • thanks bignickm27! I honestly don't know how to be anything other than myself, cos heck, i'm sometimes really serious and sometimes in super weird and strange moods. Everyone gets like that i guess. But thanks for your comment :)

  • Fine video.. Not boring..

  • how did you get over being love with your (straight) best friend?? did it just go away/did you tell him? good video btw! ;)

  • it was difficult. he actually ended up going out with my other close friend (who was a girl) and yeah, that's actually what helped me get over him. :) i think i may post a vid on it sometime soon! :) i love ur singing

  • okie doke so i am doing as you requested and posyinga comment cause i watched it from start to finish, and to be honest

it wasnt that boring, it actually made me smile, because you sort of ramble and i do that a lot too

    so yeah... not that bad

    you get my thumbs up

  • :) Thanks danielinsanity! I wanna see you ramble too but you have no vids!!!

  • by the way, hun congrats on coming out..i have not really yet...i havent had many relationships

  • Thanks speedy! I know it will sound really cliche, but you'll come out when you are ready & that is absolutely fine. This you may also probably have heard this many-a-time, but when you do come out.. it really does take a lot of weight of your shoulders. It does become much easier and you do find out who your friends and fam you can count on. Of course, people do take time as well to get used to it, espesh those uneducated about homosexuality. But you'll know when the time is right! :)

  • Congratulations on your recent 3 year anniversary! I think you bring up a great point about being unable to define the stereotype of an LGBT person considering that it's such a big, diverse community, larger than people realize, and there is no way that you can accurately describe all of them let alone describe the stereotypes in existence for all of them. You can't describe what every gay is like anymore than you can describe what every heterosexual is like. Just a thought.

  • Hey widsithgrey! Thanks for your reply! Awesome thought and well summarised with how I think I ended up feeling at the end of that vid... because it's also an issue slightly getting better (tho obviously much better than 10 years ago!), people are just becoming more accepting, more LGBT ppl coming out, heterosexual males also being percieved as metros.. stereotypes have become so broad and can only really be applied slightly if anything. :)

  • i did not mean to mark as spam...i meant to put a +1 on you wid

  • Hi! I watched the whole video. :)

YouTube comments are generally lacking in maturity, thoughtfulness, and intelligence, so I'm not sure why you want more of them! My guess is that people who may be 'haters' are unlikely to come across a video hosted by HRC/Bravo and therefore unlikely to also find yours (the way I did).

  • This was great, I watched the whole thing. You're definitely one of the more intelligent and interesting people on youtube; people are probably too scared to hate on you, haha.

  • Thanks for watching and for the sweet sweet comment! Intelligent. :) lol. i barely structure my sentences correctly, but i'll thanks for the compliment nonetheless!

  • Awesome! You are sincere and funny, a great combination :)
