I totally agree with finding a person that actually lived the life experience of the role that it pertains to, and digging deep into their emotions. Whether it is of your emotions is a plus, but if you can understand your character then you should have not any problem playing it. Might I even add even if your one of the worst actors in the world, I believe if you have a good director, and a person with that life of experience, the possibilities are endless.
