The theme?

This game is well known for its Gradius, R-type, Kirby like gameplay and it does have one of the best soundtrack I ever heard.

That meme just populrize the game's existence, so yeah, I think that the meme is a really good thing for the game; other wise there wouldn't be alot more fans than there were back than.

Yeah that's true, this stage music itself is just so awesome it's awesomeness can carry over to any version as I like hearing all three of them. (Including the PCE version). And if this was the version that started the internet meme we all know and love, ppl need hear this one first. =D
