If you ever revisit the Windom, think about a high pass filter. The antenna is very good, but sometimes too good and a simple Chebychev filter would attenuate the AM and some of the garbage signals. Kindest regards, Thomas KB7L.

Not off the top of my head. I favor straight wire antennas for simplicity, but googling AB4GX cobweb antenna, I ran across a wedsite that I can't post the link but the name is andymuza and call G7VOT. This is a complete plan but only up to 20 meters. G3TPW sells one, but I almost had a heart attack when I saw the price (£279!) Now I see why we build! I have an ARRL Antenna book from 2011 that I can look at, and scan anything I find but I'm thinking you can find just as good online.

Good job! I guess you plan on sticking below 40 meters then? And that looks like about 20 gauge wire, so about 50 watts. I read that up to 80 meters, with 10, 15, 20, 30 you can use an antenna tuner if you wanted to get the max out of this antenna. If you're interested, look at Jerry Sevick's balun book. It's awesome and has so many plans and is easy to follow. But it looks like your well on your way- now you just have to build the line isolator! 73 and dit dit.

@mts0628 Hey thanks for input and yes im on a 50w licence :-) Ive done that antenna and moved on to a cobweb which performed better here "less noise". Dont get me wrong, Windom is a good antenna but i prefer the cobweb. I am now looking to make a 20m minibeam from scrap ali tubing I found in a skip a year ago. Do u know of any good designs? Best i found so far is AB4GX design. 73s
