This pretty much sounds exactly like a regular organ with a weird drum beat added to it. What did you do to it and whats different about it from a regular 80's organ.
@bentaotao It sounds far more like a vintage computer or game system than a home organ. Old home organs usually combine analog sine waves like pipe organ stops. He gutted all of that and replaced it all with digital innards that make square/pulse waves and digitized triangle waves. lftkryo posted another video where he explains his Chipophone in detail. It's pretty neat stuff, so you may want to give it a watch.
wouldn't it be cool in this song to have a mode on the synthesiser that lets each note fade in (crescendo) when the note is pressed (for the part that is played on the upper manual in the beginning)...
I am though not saying that there is any lack of awesomeness in this video :)
Could you play something from Sonic 1 for sega master system ? Like jungle zone, scrap brain or anything else ? That would be awesome ! Love your work !
@PlancksTime Sadly, I don't think that's possible (at least in their original form) with the Chipophone. Monkey Island's music is whopping 32 bits, while Chipophone is 8-bit synthesizer.
This is AMAZING. I heard some of those songs on Demo disks on the ST.. Listening to you play them *LIVE* was.. frankly, amazing. I can't wait to hear any more cool old themes you put on here... I take my hat off to you.. This is astonishing.
The game is called "Spellbound." It was released for the ZX Spectrum & computer way back when. to think that such music like this is still popular. TBQH - I prefer music like this to much of the crap they put in games now..
This is no joke. Go on to any youtube video with the NEW video player format and you can play a game of snake. Just pause the video and hold down the left arrow button. A game of snake will appear which you can play while watching the video.
lft is probably the most talented guy in the demoscene when it comes to hardware and sound-hacking. plus he's a damn talented player too. high 5 till sverige!
I have watched both videos and at first I thought it was dumb but then I realized that this guy is really talented and has potential to become very famous by doing this. If he were to be picked up by a producer he could be involved in some of the new music coming out and add a unique touch to it that would most definitely grab an audience.
