In reference to nthelght comment-I love Lynch and have a tremendous respect for him, but comparing him to Yngwie is just silly! Yngwie is the greatest Metal guitarist of all time and not likely will anyone will ever do more for the Metal genre guitar world than he has. If you don't agree or believe me just ask George Lynch himself!
they guy is a good man. He doesn't have to do this..STFU. listen.relax..try to play along or GTFO!..All these posts about someone else or his looks belong somewere else.
Compared to the stuff he was doing with Dokken, I thought this was pretty damn impressive...especially for a guy not classically trained. GL was the bomb in the 80s (even bought a few Dokken cassettes), but I grew out of his then sloppy, muddy, high gain playing (opting for the precision of the uber-trained jazz fusion greats). But, damn, GL has gotten a lot better! Just shows what pure talent can do (even without music school), if you don't get wasted every day for decades (EVH, etc)
This is just fucking fantastic. Man, the guy has such great style and chops. Really mixing all kinds of technique into this free-styling solo. Flavor.
Think about it for a minute ... Yngwie, Eddie, Satch...how many can say they've progressed like this guy?! Listen to each of them today, they sound the same as 20 years ago. Lynch? Gone from great to the greatest. Simply put...he's a monster!
@nthelght I think they sound the same because they want to, they could change up their style if they wanted to. They may be in fear that their fans and profits would go down if they did, so they want to keep alive what they did 20 years ago. Ygnwie is known for arpeggio sweeping and speed picking, van halen is known for his technique. But I do agree with you that George is very innovative and progressed.
@nthelght Progressed?..ehhhh...Lynch sounded better and was WAY more musical with his playing in the Lynch Mob days imo. I agree that Yngwie and Satch sound pretty much the way they always have. Eddie's soloing progressed a ton during his time with Sammy...when he stopped hammering and tapping every solo. Lynch is very innovative but sometimes, especially when he is ripping it up by himself, it just doesn't sound very musical like it did back in the day. Of course he is almost 60 yrs old now.
@KitRamsey1 this sounds nothing like EVH and this guy has been around since the 1980. Its not like he is some new guy... listen to his song Mr. Scary. He is not garbage my any means.
@nthelght HE IS THE GREATEST BUT I DO NOT BELIEVE HE EVOLVE,TO ME NOW IT IS PURE NOISE. but no doubt HE is the best.I wish he can do more classic metal and rock not so many experimenting.
@nthelght This guy doesn't really do it for me. Listen to Guthrie Govan if you guys want to here an incredible shredder. BLows this guy out of the water. and Govan is a GREAT teacher as well.
@nthelght I've gotten the chance to meet and jam with George twice. He has to be one of the most open-minded, innovative and HUMBLE people I've ever met. My personal opinion is that the main reason he has stayed around is he tries new things and looks for new bands and new sounds. George said, he has had albums end of being commercially unsuccessful, but ended up being musically innovative and fantastic looking back because he was wiling to take risks and not care about popular opinion.
@nthelght I learned the most important lesson ever from George: humility. In all the years I have played, I have met some real arrogant characters with the guitar. I like on George's original REH video how he openly spoke about his "guitar teacher" Mark Thompson. Having ego issues is nothing more than a road block to being creative and developing skills. I like how George shows is so open about needing to work on skills and brings up players that are have more developed techniques than him.
@DopeDethrone lol, 'princess.' Was just saying that why listen to someone 'shred' metal, when you don't like it? Then leave a comment that it's painful to listen to? I hate country music, but I wouldn't go to a country vid and leave a message saying that 'it's painful to listen to.' Even though I think it is, it's just dumb going to a vid of a style of music you don't like and leaving a negative comment. There is no point...cheers
@owlsrfun47 It was Prbably Custom Made for George, Because I have looked for it for a Year and I know the One in his Old Lynch MobOverdubbing Vidios,They Have the same Color But Built Different. The one in all the Mob Overdubs was a GIFT TO LYNCH,from ESP Guitars,They are always giving him Good Stuff!

I've never heard about George when I lived in Poland. In '91 I came to Canada, Toronto Ontario. Not long after that I became a regular customer at Long & McQuade music store One day when I was there I heard this guitar tornado these incredible licks coming from the speakers My jaw dropped to the floor and I stood there frozen for quite a while It was Wicked Sensation album by Lynch Mob they also had his instructional VCR tape running I couldn't take my eyes off it I had to have it man Happy New.
Lmao I hear some slander this dude and I know it sux that some stuff he has done has left me baffled and wanting to throw my guitar at the wall!...Lmao it seems he inspires some to be better or makes those who cannot grasp it hate him!....He Friggen Rocks!
