  • Oh how I love Men at Work! One of the best bands of the 80's! So many totally awesome songs came from this band during that time! One of my best memories was laying in my hammock looking up at the blue sky on a summer day with this cassette playing staring at the clouds and just feeling like life was everything it should be at that moment. Pure perfection! Youth has that pull on you! You feel like life can never get any better than that moment and when you think about it, it is true! Miss it so!

  • A couple of notes on WWII history. 1 - the U.S. did NOT warn Japan about the atomic bomb. Even after the atomic bombing, the U.S. did not tell Japan what kind of bomb had been used. 2 - although several Japanese diplomats discussed surrender, they did NOT have authorization from The Emperor or the Prime Minister to do so. They therefore did not have any authority to offer surrender of any kind.

  • @kirinrex you should probally google search your first point, as you are completely wrong

why should we warn them? did they warn us of pearl harbour? now i obv. see the difference between the two situations but come on now, just another teen behind his moms computer acting like he has been in the presidents seat during a war when you have the ability to use a nuclear attack.

  • @goodapplesdope Sorry, 500 ch limit. On the warning, I think I understand what you mean. YES, we warned them that cities would be destroyed, but NO, we didn't tell them about the atomic bomb. All they knew (afterward) was that some new kind of bomb was used. Most people assumed the leaflets were warning of a conventional bombing like Tokyo or Osaka. Sorry, I think I misunderstood the other person's meaning.

  • Lol ipod sucks. Wat i meant to say: @wozzup1223 there was no peace agreement tht was in the making before the bomb. back they didnt care about hirohito te emporer they wanted tojo out. They knew te emporer was harmless. If there were peace talks dont u think the first atom bomb wouldve made them accept? anyone who would say "anyone who disagrees is an idiot and their argument is invalid" is narrow minded blinded by their own self satisfaction & clearly in te wrong

  • Basketball isnt wat it used to be. Remember jordan and bird? Johnson and abdul jabar? Now we got cry baby lebron and spoiled little bryant who carries the ball 2 steps then dribbles and no one cares. And to make it worse idiots follow the NBA like its great when really its a terrible organization with spoiled premadonnas on the hard wood. one of the many reasons i dont play. And fuck all the people who r gonna give me shit ur argument is invalid

  • @thefacelessactivist idiot. Agent orange affects people in the US We warned japan about the bomb if we didnt drop them it was estimated between 2 and 6 MILLION wuld die in a takeover of japan. u cant tell ANYONE after seeing a soldier beheaded slowly that nonlethal torture is unjust Thts the problem with far lefts u hate america even if ur from it when if u went to afghanistan ud be shot 4 not being muslim no matter how much u tell them u hate america

  • @Stcs94 Or, the USA could have accepted the terms of Japanese surrender, which were proposed BEFORE they were dropped. These terms were only rejected for two reasons. One, and not really a reason (just used by politicians at the time), was that the japanese refused unconditional surrender. They wanted the condition that they kept their emperor. Intrestingly, after the war, Japan was allowed to keep the emperor.

The second was that USA wanted to show off its big new toy to Russia.

  • @Wozzup1223 Any attempt to claim that the actions of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were justified is either misinformed, ignorant, or plain trolling.

Tell me, old chap, which one are you?

  • @Wozzup1223non of the above it was very justified ignorant misssssssssslead idiot

  • @jramcruz actually mexico wasnt a country at the time. Texas was trying to become independant like we were in the 1700's they asked us for help so we fought of the spanish. We didnt even take over the spanish were like "here have this land as long as u dont go into central america we'll surrender" it was after that mexico got its independence. U sir are the one who needs to open a history book thank u very much

  • I miss my plastic army men lol. And to those who wanna say america is bad this video isnt about america being terrible its about unjust war in general. The vietnam war imperialistic war(germany in ww2) the US hasnt been in a war where it actually gained land since the spanish american war and we were fighting to free cuba the philipines etc. We set them both free and now look at cuba. So shut up with all the scapegoating for ur countries short comings america kicks the shit out of everyone

  • Muito boom!

  • Who would accuse President Eisenhower speech on the dangers of the Military-Industrial Complex

And SD Butler's book "War is a Racket"

    - As negative opinions?

Those who helped create the US, believed in the freedom of expression including dissent.

The US has a history that civil rights and civil liberties did not apply to minorities and women, especially native Americans.

The US Constitutional amendments did not apply to the states.

  • @airforcemax So because he made a speech, that doesn't make it the gospel,,Perhaps after two world wars, there may have thought there was other things to do as a nation. As far as rights every nation has had slaves,in one form or another, growings pains if you will.I never said the US was perfect, but we are not Ignorant,Well I take that back, look who we have in the White House.

  • Who would accuse President Eisenhower speech on the dangers of the Military-Industrial Complex And SD Butler's book "" War is a Racket - As negative opinion?

The US was created since the colonist opposed the laws that favored British rulers.

Those who helped create the US, believed in the freedom of expression including dissent.

The US has a history that civil rights and civil liberties did not apply to minorities and women. The US Constitutional amendments did not apply to the states.

  • why i cant see this video on my favorites, it show me an SME problem :( men remove that please i love this band

  • Faltou coisa ai...

  • It is a mistake that American forget that President Dwight David Eisenhower was a combat veteran and General of the Army that dared to express his fears on the dangers of the Military-Industrial Complex.

Unfortunately many Americans wish to remain uniformed and ignorant rather than to do what is right. These Americans are part of the problem.

President Eisenhower swore to defend with his US Army career and believed in the military, but not one that will bankrupt the United States.

  • @airforcemax Our country was built defending freedom ALL over the world, just go to Washington D.C. it's one giant memorial,That is why we are different from the rest of the world, over weight yes but cowardly,Hell no. Hopefully you will never need us again to defend your right to write your negative opinion of the US.

  • @jeffrewillis,

Would you accuse President Eisenhower speech on the dangers of the Military-Industrial Complex - As negative opinion?

The colonies complained on how the laws favored British rulers, thus the US was created. Some who help create the US believed in the freedom of speech that includes dissent.

The US has a history that civil rights and civil liberties did not apply to minorities and women. The US Constitutional amendments did not apply to the states.

  • @jeffrewillis TRUE THAT BROTHER!

  • @airforcemax its a mistake that you posted this on a music video and are over-analyzing shit.

  • @airforcemax

Who gives a damn about the United States? It's the other countries that are being swiss-cheesed! Bankrupt? Bankrupt?! People are being butchered in countless of war crimes and genocides committed by that very army. Operation Paperclip, Agent Orange, My Lai, Hiroshima, Nagasaki... And not to mention their protocols to bypass the Geneva convention. Bankruptcy would be great since it would finally put an end to the slaughter.

  • @airforcemax Defend? USA only ofend other countries.

  • @airforcemax You ungrateful little cocksucker! It's because of those ignorant uniformed warriors that you have the freedoms you are pissing on right now! Show some God damned respect! If it weren't for the brave American soldiers you would be speaking either German or Japanese right now. This makes me think the draft is a good idea, get fat, ignorant turds like you to pay for the cushy life you take for granted. Fuck you!

  • @OldSchoolPatriot2012

Your reply proves that you are a shill as comedian Bill Hicks and George Carlin who was a US military veteran.

What would you tell Smedley Darlington Butler who authored the book "War is a Racket", President Dwight David Eisenhower who warned Americans on the dangers of the Military-Industrial Complex along and Omar Nelson Bradley a fellow General of the Army that all three hated war?

Eisenhower ended the Korean Conflict as he promised.

    - As negative opinions?

  • What an absolute classic this is. Amazing.

  • Garden Flower meant an atomic mushroom cloud from a nuclear blast.

  • @centerM87

I am pretty sure he is saying "we'll send the card and flower"

  • @jimthefin Yes it does say Card and Flower. But growing up in the '80's we all lived under a threat of nuclear attack from the Soviet Union and believed the world was going to end soon back then. So people or at least the ones I knew would sing it as sending the 'Garden Flower' which was army talk for the mushroom cloud. Wow 30 years ago!!

  • @centerM87 Just a goofy play on words

  • @centerM87 yeah, agreed. i was born in 1978 and as a kid nuclear war always scared me. play wargames 1983. it's fun, but could have been real!

  • How many years later, and I remember not only every word, but also the sound of every not in the guitar solo. That my friends is the very definition of a classic.

  • We need more grandmas kicking our asses.

  • I dont know who the bigger idiot is. Lady Gagme (gaga) or the idiots that think she is a talented singer. That song of hers is the most ridiculous thing ive ever heard, eclipsing who let the dogs out. I mean, Oh ga ga ga or whatever the hell she says. I am not sure if she is talking to a baby or making some sort of tribal war chant! Saying she sucks would be far to kind!!!!

  • @Gamered125 There's 48 dislike btw. That is unacceptatble

  • @Gamered125

I agree. What an interesting world if we all liked the same things. A bit like if we all repeated the same things we read. It would be a great and very diverse world with nothing dull or boring in it.

  • 48 people are making a mistake.

  • america needs to go back to the 80's when times were good!

  • @kenmandoo2 I don't know if the 80s were 100% gravy. I think we look back on it with fondness because of how messed up today is. I guess the best thing we can do is live as positively as we can in the present. Peace!

  • God bring back those shorts. Fckin shmecksy.

  • This song is sooooooo 80's ,simple, easy, fantastic. quite simply brilliant. I love and miss the 80's.

  • War is a mistake, but not to republicans

  • @sammys70

The left right thing is a big mind fuck. Dont fall for it. Its an illusion.

  • @Gamered125 Amen,this video rocks too.

  • @Gamered125 You're right, it's sad, it's a mistake ! ;)

  • One of my 2 favorite Men at Work songs - the other is Overkill. I wish they'd play something other than Who Could it be Now and Down Under on the radio!

  • those dislikes are a mistake

  • OMG! I love this song! Long live the 80s! That's when music was music!

  • this song is so awesome, and timeless, it still echoes true today

  • @joshll I agree 1000%!

  • wish i was alive in the 80s, mainstream music actually had a good beat back then

  • @C157OM Tbh I agree with u but tayler swift is actually good.

  • 47 dweebs had no life in the 80's...and/or HAVE NO LIFE NOW!! =)

  • ESTA MUSICA ES MUY VACANA !!! ESTOS SON UNOS LOCOS.

  • This is one of those songs you have to see the video of to fully appreciate. I'm 16 and hate most 80s music, but i think this band has class.

  • you say lady gaga, i say Led Zeppelin

you say hannah montana, i say AC\DC

you say owl city, i say Deep Purple

you say jonas brothers, i say The Rolling Stones

you say justin bieber, i say The Beatles

you say taylor swift, i say guns & roses.

95% of teens these days listen to the same crappy pop songs over and over. if your one of the 5% left who still listen to real music, thunb this up, then copy and paste it to t least 5 video's. DONT LET THE SPIRIT OF ROCK AND ROLL DIE!

  • @C1570M

Not this shit again. What the problem with being eccletic? We just want to enjoy music in peace, so stop spamming this bad written piece of crap.

  • @C1570M the spirit NEVER WILL DIE...i promise you

    Thanks from Brazil

  • It seems that 47 people live in this parallel universe, as they have no idea what GREAT music is ((or maybe it's those eerie voices they often hear echoing through their head, guiding them to actions that defy all common logic, rationality & popular taste!))! God, how I miss the 80's!

  • @Gamered125 LOL my good man, LOL indeed!!! I'm having a bit of a spasm attack myself right now! Brilliant!!!

  • fucking class band simple as that

  • great song

  • MTV used to be good in the early 80's. All they did was show videos.

  • @spjfrat MTV officially aired in Aug. 1st 1981. I was there good and alive at the age of 11. True, all music videos until '85 or '86 was it with their first ever game show and can't remember the show's name. It was about naming the songs along with video. Then in the early 90's, Real World. Unknowingly it was a gimmick at the time when I was 22 but realized by season 3, 4 that it wasn't real life at all. I was working three jobs by to make ends meet. All show now no MTV.

  • @spjfrat yes that was good stuff! now every things a big karoake contest i.e. Idol crap... what ever happened to raw talent? = )

  • @spjfrat o sea que fue un error!

  • @spjfrat

They did that in the 90's too, problem was it was the kind of videos nobody was interested in besides really, really boring people... They didn't have any meaning or messages like videos such as this.

  • Comment removed

  • In 1 sense I agree; however, videos must be viewed with an open mind. The label, not the artist, sets aside money to produce a music video, which transversely is shaped by the public & popularity of the band.

Post 2004,, there's been a downturn of releasing videos, due primarily to new technologies, faster bandwidth, & sites like this one, allowing a plethora of recorded medium to be viewed 24-7-365..
