  • Ever thought that bending could be a defect on YOUR system? You sir are an idiot.

  • nice vid man =)

  • Now why would you buy a Mac to just run windows.........

  • @amiadr Games

  • why would you have the mac running windows 7 we all know osx boots up faster

  • @SauceOfSoy because of compatibility issues. such as when someone is in school, college or work, the majority of people will use PCs running Windows, so it's better to be on the safe side and run Windows, either with Parallels or VMWare Fusion or even on a partition, along side mac OS X.

  • Macbook pro 2011 FTW

  • This is unfair comparison of boot time, the MacBook Pro is made for OSX + u are using SSD which is double the speed of the HDD , the real comparison should be a real life comparison between both machines , with the MBP of HDD and Snow Leopard and the HP Envy with and HDD and Windows 7.

In a Comparison you should Boost each machine to its best possible performance.

    with the same Hardware Specifications

  • @MinaK2009 I mentioned in the video several times that the boot time comparison was not very useful because of the SSD, differing specs, and b/c win7 was in boot camp mode for the macbook. There's almost no way to get exact same specs/ssd etc. for these two laptops. Nevermind that win7 and OSX offer different features, so a coldboot comparison is pointless. If you're concerned about which OS boots faster, I'm sure there are other benchmarks.

  • @PartyHatCookieCat Ok you are right in several points concerning the boot time, and it is hard to make the same specs of both machines , anyway Thanks for the Comparison, i've Liked the Video and Subscribed, i really wish to see a comparison between both machines with the same Specs but each one with its own OS.

  • @PartyHatCookieCat the multi touch tp on mb pro is giant button, but i wanna ask can u double tapp (lik in windows laptop) to click an item? n damn ur right abt delete key in mb pro, this wud hav been an issue if i had that apple laptop n i use many software that use those keys n switching back n forth between fn key+ del n del key wud hav been a real pain

  • the reason the envy booted faster is cuz the mac is ment for osx

  • the new mac has an sd card slot

  • @xXCr4zyL3mon5Xx new macs and new envy's have a lot of different features. These two models were contemporaries.

  • comparison review would have been much more useful if the lighting was better. it would bring out the visual differences much more clearly. the crap lighting here make them look almost identical.

  • my new macbook pro 13in has the sd card slot

  • can you put up a video of these two laptops booting into their native os's? I mean its not really fair cause the mac wasnt built for windows7 i would love to see the envy booting windows and the mac booting leopard

  • Another thing that you did not mention is that the Headphone port and line in port are on the same port. That is one of the most anoying things in the world. Also, every new MPB comes with an SD card reader. To be fair, if you are reviewing a brand new Envy, it should be compaired to a brand new MBP or at least mention the differences between your MBP and a brand new one. Any Firewire on that Envy for people who use video cameras? How about the Higher resolution of the MBP screen?

  • @andwedonotknowhim This is not a brand new envy. While I got my macbook before I got my envy, these two models were available at the same time (about a year ago), so I think the comparison is fair. There are both newer envys as well as macbooks now. The macbook 13 does not have any higher res screen options AFAIK. The new macbook 15 has a 1680x1050 high-res screen option which is very attractive, but the envy 15 has a 1920x1080.

  • @andwedonotknowhim calm down fanboy

  • Also I noticed that when you compared boot times you do not use the native operating system on the mac. That is quite obviously not fair. OSX is a key feature of the apple. My MBP booted much faster than your did. That is mostly because OSX is just built better. Also, booting only to the login screen does not take into account the full boot time. The full boot time includes the loading of all the start up applications. That is where OSX truly shines . . .

  • @andwedonotknowhim I'm aware that OSX is the native OS for the macbook, but I can't exactly put OSX on the envy easily, so windows 7 is the only OS I can compare side by side. I don't think it's meaningful to compare OSX boot times to windows 7 boot times, as I'm sure there are plenty of better articles comparing the boot times and features of the two OS's.

  • Great review. I had a couple things to mention at this point. I own an HP Netbook and a Macbook and one of the biggest things I hate about my netbook is that it doesn't have an optical drive. Many many people who buy laptops now days use them for creative purposes as I do and You need an optical drive regularly. Also, how are you going to load your CD collection to your mp3 player with out an optical drive? Optical drive is key and makes the biggest difference between the two . . .

  • @andwedonotknowhim the new envy has a built in optical drive now.
