  • вот кто спер у Коляна трек с мобильника !!!!!!! ))))))

  • SMILES FROM THE SUN!

  • This is Genesis at the peak of their power! Beauty and power Combined to create a

masterpiece. Still resonates down through the years-----Fantastic.

  • wow genesis was a whole different band back then...right? i would be really interested, whether the friends of "old genesis" like the "new" stuff they did then ?

  • wow genesis was a whole different band back then...right?

  • This is tremendous, but does this restoration not include some audio overdubs? I mean it sounds incredible, but some parts are almost too identical to the record (not showing Steve during most of his solo seems like a giveaway). It could easily be evidence of how great the band was that their live sound was the same as the record, and the band seems in sync with the audio, but is it really 100% live? If so, double wow.

  • @simonpeter6 Gabriel-era Genesis NEVER improvised anything. They played the song EXACTLY as it was written and recorded, every time. So yes, they got very, very good at it.

  • Imo, this, and The Lamb, constitute the highest level that the rock art form has ever seen. I'd love it if something new topped it, but realising that earlier Genesis were a product of their time, I'm content with this confluence of five rare talents retaining the title for at least a while...

  • Awesome Perfomance..thank you thank you♥

  • WiLD. find.... 5* straight to faves :))x

  • Congartulations Genesis on being inducted into the Hall of Fame. Should have been inducted on this song alone!

  • That's music.

  • Best thing that I have ever heard from the UK.

    pure masterpiece.

sorry Pink Floyd / gentle giant / Deep Purple etc.....

this is as progressive as it gets.

and it is even better if you got something to smoke....(-:

  • Steve's mustache is unexpected

  • My favourite "old" Genesis song! pure genius period

  • tapping and sweep picking thats a master of innovation called steve hackett

  • GENIUS

  • 1:48

  • I don't always like Peter's costumes...some of them freak me out a bit, but I respect him and his voice and the music they created so much that I've long since overlooked that initial dislike.

  • Wow...I am having a figurative flashback now from the first acid I dropped in '74 at the Agora in Columbus, Ohio, and watching Genesis perform this and Watcher of the Skies, etc.,

a religious experience of sorts for the non-religious. They don't write music like that anymore... sadly.

  • gabriel rocks

  • Peter Gabriel=wha a mind!!! This man is a pure genius, the songs are so brilliant and the others play excellently!

This is one of my fav Geness song. When I hear it,I never get boring...I can listen to it 20 times a day ... magic,no?

  • The middle one is probably my favorite guitar solo EVER.

And I don't usually say things like "best ever".

  • Peter's flute at the end of the song at 6:40 min.

I love this part, play it again and again...

  • I love how the mellotron was used.

  • Lol, Phil Collins. He's such a nobody compared to Gabriel.

  • GABRIEL ROCKS

    *Sry ROCKED

  • He still does.

  • With that song I became addicted to Genesis.

  • Thanks extreme from an old Genesis freak! Beautiful archival recording, made me feel young again to see and hear it. You are as young as your spirit tells you you are!!!! Love early Genesis...

  • I think it's incredible there's footage of this stuff and we get to watch it right here.

I searched high and low for this kind of material 20 years ago.

what's collins got in his mouth at 8:40?

  • I just read on the web site today (7th January 2009) that Peter Gabriel has not ruled out the reunion of the original Genesis line-up!

  • Thats his sport: not ruling out while taking AGES for evrything else besides what he´s not ruling out.

  • This is sheer genius, and so relevant (to the world situation), with its biting attack on the "lies" of fulfillment through mindless materialism and consumerism.

  • The personification of Britain. It's actually a woman, but yeah.

  • Britannia is a symbol of Britain. It is normally a woman dipicted wearing a sort of ancient Greek type helmet, a tridant and a sheild with the British flag on it.

  • gariel let hackett use his head as a golf tee

his hair style was created with a sand wedge

  • i listen genesis since i was 15th. i love this music so i love peter. his voice is so especial.i love so many wonderful bands until today and always but genesis reminds me the best of my life!! GENIAL PEDRO SOS LO MAS GRANDE . TU VOZ TU INTERPRETACION ME TRANSPORTA A LA EPOCA MAS DULCE DE MI VIDA.GRACIAS SIEMPRE!!!!

  • My dog loves this song!

  • In fact, all of their 1969-1974 songs are very sad...

    "Foxtrot" is a sad masterpiece.

  • Ah Genesis in those days!

    So Theatrical,so Pantomine,So storybook,So ouy-there and So brilliant!

  • Excellet video!

    Thanks!!!

  • This is one of my favorite of Peter's astoundling costume array, the character 'Brittannia'.

  • Steve Hackett is the true guitar innovater, he's doing tapping wayyy before Eddie Van Halen "invented it" and Sweep Picking before Yngwie started doing it to death; both these techniques done in one of his most incredible solos. No the most incredible solo of rock history

  • Time to come clean Eddie......Hackett did it first!!!

  • iv been saying that for so long lmao!

  • To be fair, Emmet Chapman was doing it even before that...and I'm fairly sure there were a few jazz guitarists at it, too.

  • @Winonasalibi so did Page. Van Halen's just a tab overrated ...

  • He looked pretty good as well. This is probably the only song from Genesis where the studio version sounds as good as the live version. Every other song I've heard from them, the live version sounds better. It's just me probably. Another costume that worked well for him.

  • brilliant! peter gabriel rules

  • OK.... But when Phil took over, i hate to say it but he was better. he stayed with the band 4 times as long as Peter.. SORRY to bust ur luck.

  • @browner2252 You are wrong, Peter Gabriel was MUCH better that the commercial Phil Collins's Genesis, even if he stayed with the band so many years. Sorry. Peter was the best of genesis. he is a genius, Phil is not.

  • @SophixxTH When Gabriel split, he took the magic with him.

  • @SophixxTH

I am also a heavy admirer of Gabriel-time Genesis, but please hear what Phil does on the drums!

I think he is near a genius at the drums of early Genesis...

  • GREAT!!!!!

  • Excellent - i'm gettin' Homesick !

    Brilliant -THX for showing.

  • i always wonder how peter changes costumes so quickly

  • what is he saying in the beginning?

  • "I am in the English Channel, it is cold, exceedingly wet. I am the voice of Britain before the "Daily Express" (right-wing mass newspaper). My name is "Britannia"; this is my song called "Dancing with the Moonlit Knight".

  • Excellent film quality!!!!!

    Thank you!!

  • I've never had the opportunity to see this phase of Genesis, and I kick myself for it.

  • Well, you're seeing it now, enjoy, don't kick yourself! This is sheer genius.

  • Awesome video. This is the real Genesis.

  • "You are what you eat, eat well". I just ate a 3 course dinner and feel like I could take on the world, Peter Gabriel included. He better watch out. I still haven't watched this video to the end though - another forkful of curry and I should have the energy resonating from within. I'm scared it will, like the song, "burst my belt", but it'll be worth it to see this vid in full.

    PAPER LACE!

  • Why can't Arctic Monkeys do songs as genius as this? These are truly times bereft of bonafide song crafting talent. Also, "You are what you eat, eat well", it's so true. I just had a 3 course meal and I feel like I could take on the world. Peter Gabriel included. He better watch out, quite frankly. I still haven't managed to watch this video to the end though. Another forkful of curry should enable me with the courage.

  • absolutely brilliant

  • Peter Gabriel's style and stage presence as a singer/story teller is amazing.

  • which is amazing because he actually had a bit of stage fright, but he wore costumes to help him cope. Hes a genius

  • my favorite Genesis song

    thank you

  • FREAKIN AWESOME! thank you!!!

  • What a pleasure it is to actually see them play my favorite song!

  • Enorme.

  • I saw this and melted. My best friends brother picked up Selling England lp in Germany on a stint with this mans army. Brought it home and turned me on...to the record, too.

  • what in the world is that in phil collins mouth at the end?

  • This made my day.

  • wow great video damn good sound love this song and THANK YOU!
