I'll bet that flying a gas blimp of this size is interesting- the longer the flight, the more bouyant it is! Does it offer much longer flights than electric?
Whoa! You got a 512 area code on the side! That's in my vicinity! I'm in Waco, is this blimp housed in the Austin or central Texas area? I'd love to see it, and buy one, too. Is there anyone you know of working on, flying, or considering a rigid, zeppelin-type r/c model? Or any you know that have ever been done? I'm considering this venture to scratch my lifelong enthusiast zeppelin itch.
Is this a one-off or homemade blimp, or is it commercially available, or just plain buyable anywhere at any price? I am a beginner r/c plane fanatic, also a commercial/instrument rated fixed wing & free balloon pilot with a long-time fascination for dirigibles. I am considering a handmade zeppelin, r/c of course, not full-size. If I had hundreds of millions at my disposal, I'd start thinking about a Graf Zeppelin. I'd pilot it, of course.
The fans / propellers on each side of the cabin can point in any direction. then can make the "neutrally buoyant" blimp go in any direction. note the rudders on the back for side to side motion as well as up and down.
@SteveHMcIntosh there was been a one case of a rc blimp causing a buzz around the salt lake city, I believe it could be a battery powered w/ electric hungry motor mounted on the rear causing it to malfunction, many people thought it was ufo but eventually found out to be helium filled toy which went down into a office building
It is a Carolina Airship. They run about 5k plus depending on the extras you are looking for. I do not sell them but a google search of "rc airships" will get you 220,000 results.
RC blimps need approval from an air marshall. Who knew?

Thank you! one last question... Is it hard lo guide it with strong winds? or high altitude?
jorgeley 2 years ago
yes, it is impossible in high wind. if it gets too far away from you its gone...lol
SteveHMcIntosh 2 years ago
lol!.... The thing is that I was offered a job flying a blimp similar to yours (11 mts.) and I don´t know much about it.
I do know how to fligh rc helicopters and I have one t-rex 500 ESP and one t-rex 250.
Can you please tell me approximately the safe altitude that it is supposed to fly? and how far should it get from me?
Thanks a lot man!

How they balance the weight? If the atmosphere pressure change the balance between the weight and the balloon push will change.
jerryaltman 2 years ago
they cost about 2000 bucks empty!

I would love to get a long-range rc blimp, and fly it low over our neighboring rival high school. On the side it would say in large letters "SCHS."
TaffyAlpha 3 years ago
Cool - how much extra weight will one of that size carry ?
ElvenDane 3 years ago
If you can fit in to the cab it will take you for a ride!
SteveHMcIntosh 3 years ago
Aha, that much weight ? *LOL*
Amazing. 200 lbs in my case ;-)
Or I could hang in a strap under it, I suppose ?
ElvenDane 3 years ago
Really though, could it support any weight? Or could it only give my hamster a ride?
