The singer in this case is one of the greatest sopranos ever. At least the one I personally love most, and the one I NEED TO HEAR when I listen to a piece of Bach or Mozart. She is Edith Mathis, the unforgettable and beautiful Pamina. Trumpet is played by P. Thibaud. Münchener Bach Orchester conducted by Karl Richter. Unfortunely this wonderful source may at times lack the minimum informations desirable, but on the other hand it's a great tool to let others get to know these masterpieces.

PS: and in this case it is the singers ability that decides the tempo... Richter was clever enaugh to understand that he looks much better if his singers sing well( as, actualy all great conductors do and did... The rest of them get to be forgotten soon After they die).
I find it allways very anerving when people skipp the singers name in a piece that is sung...
Without conducter it can be performed( as a metter of Fact at Bach s time noone coductet), but without an great soprano it cannot be performed; and then no name of the singer! Funny!
This is the version I've gotten use to listen to. Wonderful, love it.

Edith Mathis klingt hier schön jung wie ein Knabensopran!
Toll gesungen.
Die Fröhlichkeit des Textes kann man im Vergleich zu den meisten anderen Aufnahmen tatsächlich hören!

I think she is E. Mathis with C. Richter, best Bach cantatas esecutions. No doubt.

couple things i like about this recording:
trumpeter does not limit himself to baroque style, bassoon is giving plenty of bass, it's nice and loud (though somewhat distorted from recording)
Thanks for posting it!
