She is not too big of a national celebrity, nowhere near the popularity of say Madonna. But she does have a vast fan base of mostly youth under the age of 24. Americans prefer to walk around distracted or completely not interested in Politics based on ideals. We would rather see style than read into substance. This is why Barack Obama is strong right now. This didn't quite catch on at all, I never heard it on the radio or tele, only here and from supporters (most supporters are hard core).
