You can't do this on Xbox because on Xbox you can't put hdmi cables and av cables at the same time

Question! In the video, you used the HDMI cable for video output on the and the AV cables for sound output on your PS3. Is it possible to set it that way on the X360?

@eddieremember the controller only outputs voice from other players. in order to get game sound you must connect headphones either to your tv or to the red and white cords just as is shown in this video

@TheGkbrk1 Yes. You plug the yellow cable (video) into ur tv and the red and white (audio) into your headphones. I would highly suggest getting HDMI if you hav an HD TV, the quality is just so much better.

you can always check to see if your tv has a 3.5mm audio output jack and simply purchase a headphone jack extender cable. Then i use my Kinect for voice chat because no audio is coming through the tv to interfere with the mic. :)

excuse me but, it worked for me when i used the av, however when i switched to hdmi and bought an audio adapter i followed the same steps but for some reason the volume is considerably lower than when i used av. i put the game and volume all the way. i dont know if you have a solution? thanks

you need to take you red and whit av cable that has a female plug in on plug it in to your audio out on the back of your tv then take a dual coupler that has 1 femail headphone jack and 2 male and connect one male tou your av/female head phone jack(the one thats connected to your audio out) and buy a connecter port that has a 3.5 female and a 2.5 male jack and plug into your controller it should work!!!

My TV has a headphone jack but the sound that comes out of it doesn't seem like it's really good. And I actually have the same headphones as the ones shown on this video.

If I plugged the headphones to the PS3 directly using this method would the sound improve? Or would I have to get something like an AV receiver if I wanted to get some proper sound quality?

@HelpfulTutorials1 after using it for a while I'm starting to think it's a weird combination of the phones and maybe the game I'm playing (Fallout New Vegas). One thing I noticed when I got the beats is that they have this very wide soundscape. Sounds great for music (even the in game music) but for other things like regular game sounds it's kinda weird and I think it takes a while to get used to. I also realized I had to get the volume much higher than usual on the TV.
