I disagree that your liberties are being trodden on, and that government will "be in" the marketplace (although I realize there are instances where their "presence" isn't helping) because look at history. In 1980 Chrylser was "bailed-out" but reaped profits of over 1.7 trillion..leaving the government with a hefty profit. Not such a bad thing.

I think the reality is people are simply tired of picking up the governments bill, when they themselves get nothing in return.

Americans with money should take their money and leave for Australia or some Pacific Island.
