As a viewer, I personally don't give a flying f*** if it's a recording! What's the damm difference! At least we would get to hear the man's voice!
@CHANNELMICHAEL, I didn't say I wanted him doing the news! I just want that voiceover for the intro! Besides, Morgan Freeman ain't exactly a spring chicken either. Freeman has no relationship with CBS. Cronkite was the CBS Evening News! And while they're at it, get rid of that bimbo Katie Couric, have her host the Early Show and replace her with Bob Schieffer. ABC should also put Diane Sawyer back on GMA and replace her with George Stephanopoulos.
I think its time for CBS News to launch its own 24 hour cable news network to compete with Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC.

It was just a recording of his voice though. So they could've kept the recording and continued using it.
