  • smthg I don't understand is, you can go to wikipedia and stuff, therefore you need a wireless connection or what ? How does it connect to the web ? - thx

  • 4:37 Anyone else thinks he looks like Securitiy Cheif Zack Allan in that angle?

  • "In an amazing 16 shades of Grey"?!?! Ever heard of freaking 1080p full HD? I have. Then again, it IS 2010.

  • @thatsfornoobs 1080p and HD has nothing to do with color density or shade depth. Clearly you don't know that. Then again, it IS 2010 (99.9% of the population has some sort learning disability).

Anyways, keep up with your burger flipping you knuckle dragging plebeian.

  • I'm sorry, but this machine looks like a Spectrum-ZX. Where's the up to date technology. 16 shades of grey? BWAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • Kindle doesn't support an open e-book format such as epub. Also amazon have previously accessed peoples kindle without asking and deleted books!! Search new york times for "Amazon Erases Orwell Books From Kindle" for proof.

I would encourage everyone to consider buying an ereader that supports open formats such as the nook, sony's and many others.

  • I agree with you.

  • Am I hearing this right at 5:23 I would have to send all my PDF files in to Amazon and then they would resend them back to my Kindle? Why can't I simply to transfer PDF files directly from my computer to the Kindle?

  • If you want them in Kindle format you would do that. If you just want to transfer and read the PDF as is...then you can just transfer it via a simple USB Cable. Its really easy.

  • @ temdatli That is actually possible. Search for MobiPocket Creator. It takes the pdf a converts it so that the kindle can read it. Pretty cool :D

  • LOL AT 16 SHADES OF GRAY !!

  • @easynoteguy1 Why lol?

  • @heavypeki Lol i just thought it was funny xD

  • I am investing in a Kindle.

  • A library in your hands, this is making the top of my Christmas list.

  • can you take the book you downloaded onto kindle and transfer it to your regular computer?

  • Yes,you can

  • i want this!!!!

  • I'd rather use this then buy books..

I like being able to hold as less as possible.

  • dude it wil hence the decent sales of this new product a stupid netbook has about 5 hours battery on the go the kindle has weeks of battery and holds heaps of books and you dont look like a tightass holding a netbooks 6 inch screen to your face a netbook sucks ass all it does is browse pages on the net it cant game and barely run some applications the smart move is the kindle instead of a stupid netbook that has mesley battery life the kindle is easier to use purchase and read at the same time.

  • For fiddy bucks I'd agree, but 2 hundred? Nah!

  • It pays for it's self because the books are really cheap, and you can even download free once.

  • Or just go to the library...........

    other than spending 300 bucks

  • meh i prefer a book atleast i know no one will steal it D;

  • @0unconscious0 Except those book sluts. :( LMFAO (I saw a book blog online called "Blog of a Bookslut"). I prefer books, but now that I got my nook, it's really fun to read ebooks. I have a site with a CRAPLOAD of free ebooks (actual novels too that were bought from the store! : D)

  • Or! or.... just read a book, like actually...

  • super sharp 16 shades of gray. wow! fuck off lololol.

  • I think it's overkill but I guess it is better for the environment. Less paper use.

  • this kindle product is the beginning of fahrenheit 451... lol

  • doubt there gona burn books tho :]

  • This voice is computerized, and horrible. Nightmares are given freely.

  • rofl. That voice really is terrible. I'm so glad I'm not blind.

  • Digitized speech, oh the wonders of the far off future of 1985.

  • @Ralastar OMG, I WAS JUST THINKING ABOUT HOW BAD THE DAMN VOICE WAS! I'd be like "If I listen any longer I'll shoot myself or try to kill myself with this damn kindle."

  • @TheOn3LeftBehind Even Steven Hawking sounds less horrific.

  • oh and the kindle looks like a huge iphone

  • 1:08 thats one creepy voice

  • so what if you want a book autographed by the author?

  • Buy the physical version before you go get the autograph. Or just buy the physical version in the first place.

  • Way too expensive for something not that great. When would you ever need 250 books while you're out? honestly... i think I'll stick to good old paperbacks...

  • It makes sense for someone who has to travel a lot, and students if they're lucky enough to have their textbooks available.

  • nice gadget

  • Lame. Personally, I like the feeling of a musty old paperback between my fingers.

  • exept the paper cuts a usege of trees

  • i just saw that on tv and the guy pushing it said it goes for 350$ plus like 10$ a book

but those tiny laptops are about 300$ and you can download any books you want somewhere online (usually for free)

and those are not much bigger

this seems too high a price for such a limited device

  • yea and if it gets wet...well to bad for you and a book gets wet...usually let it dry and go on reading

  • I will buy the next version (3.0) when it comes in "color".

  • just like ipods haha

  • wtf...you to u angry pig
