Bike is beautiful. I love my 600RR but when I step up to a 1000cc I'm going straight for this. This makes all the other backs hit the backseat. I love my Honda's but damn, this is amazing. Took a test ride and I fell totally in love, gonna save for about another 3-4 months and I'm getting this thing without a doubt. Great job BMW first Super bike you ever built and you have all the fanboys hating on your beautiful machine. Way to go!
@cbr600rrturbo That's the biggest BS I've read yet on YT. Don't be such a sore loser. The RR changed the sport bike world forever. You are either ignorant, or just envious.
all the japs do is reverse engineer (fancy word for copy) technology from everybody else in the world. Anything you find in the japs bikes was originated somewhere else. They do, however, make it more efficiently (tehy didn't have to spend million$ in R&D), meaning less expensive and more reliable (well, most of the time...)
Im going to buy one hopefully in two days. Long Beach BMW ask for David. They believe in there bikes and are great. Totally awesome. Trust and honest, I am not advertising them. They are awesome 1-562-426-1200 say loren from Montana sent you. The S1000RR buyer. Thankyou David. Acid Green S1000RR 2010.
personaly i like jap bikes, but i admit that this bmw kicked jap bikes ass this year, so yeah, wait for the next season when the jap strike back and buy a bike ;)
I have never really liked BMW bikes but i saw this and was in awe. BMW have entered the 1000cc superbike market and blown the competition away. Faster, lighter, more advanced electronics, better suspension and brakes. I am taking a test ride and unless there is something unexpected that I don't like I will definately buy one.
@halla55 No they don't have any 600cc's bikes...they have the 450cc, 650cc, and the 800cc's that are apart of their Enduro line. You can check out their entire line-up of bikes
technic used on this bike is nothing new,i see many parts used from other companies... bmw maby makes motorblok end chasis but the rest is from other fabric..i dont say is bad,but when you say BMW then you imagine old fart's riding slow on there big plastic bikes..bmw newer ever had good design on there bikes.allways missed something to make it "street agressive"and here they miss it too...im not impressed and joung once will think the same...
i got my bike dyno today and the guy there said the new bmw is producing 193bhp standard that is nuts i want one but the missis.... you know how it is lol
BM is really gonna blow the Jap bikes away, the dyno testing shows a 10hp more powerfull engine than ANY other Jap bike. Pity they dont have a great rider in SBK to win a few races...
@jasonmachine100 you can bild bike with even more power, nut question is why you need more pk's?? bike is light and powerfull, and diferense in kawa, suzuki, jamaha, honda, and last bmw for 10pk wont be noticed as most dpends from driver skills and not from pk's.and i see on this bike litle from bmw self, and much from other fabric's...and if you want more pk's then just pick up more rpm's,and there you have them.
Who ever is responsibel for the asymetric headlights should get shot in the head...a beautiful bike (from the side) with alot of Power (more than Japanese ones). But the headlight-design is a love-killer. I would buy one if it had lights like the current R6...but this shit is crazy fucked up...
4 sure - but ugly ;) I wouldn`t buy something to set me apart if I find it ugly. Would you? ;) The technical facts are GREAT GREATER THE GREATEST...the look is weak weaker the weakest. A Suzuki Gladius is even more pretty *lol*
nnnnaaaaaa... whose gonna buy this shit!? Japanese sportbikes all the way baby! UGLY DESIGN! NOT RELIABLE! A LITTLE EXPENSIVE! Nnnnaaaaa!!!! I will go for the ZX10R 2010!
Not reliable? Its a BMW. How many miles can your engine take before you need to replace it? Can it last 150,000; 200,000? How about 100,000? The S1000 is only marginally more expensive than an R1, looks better (more unique at least) than your lame ZX10, and still puts out more power.
not reliable?!?!?! Dude where you live man...that`s a german bike...I drive an R6 myself but I would NEVER say a BMW is unreliable ;) Even if it`s ugly as hell...
I live in munich, Germany (Birthplace of BMW) ;) And I am as objective as I can be.You have to see the facts. Aprilia looses 5 motors at a press-presentation in Portugal of the RSV, that will never happen with a BMW. Mercedes? That`s for Grandpa - You want a sporty vehicle - U take a BMW (in my opinion) - S1000RR is not a beauty, again in my opinion, but you know a factory-bike with 200PS? Search in Japan u won`t find. Bavarian Monster-Power (and that with the first Sportbike) - MORE POWER - BMW
and another one - DTC with Tractioncontrol even in corners(!!!) - patented system - through Gyro-Sensors from Bosch, better Sport-ABS than Honda (cause it`s a lot lighter) - Quickshifter and so on. For 16000 Euro...A BURNER - if I had the money I would by one, change the headlights and the colour to black and *tatataaa* I would never have to change my bike forever ;))) Ok - enough now ;))) May the winter end soon - Cherioooo
yeah i got the only one in alaska so far untill mid july i payd $16,225 for it its goteveryting the GSA and Race ABS DTC i cant wait but the shops gotta hold it untill april 5th because of a motorcycle show but i cant ride it anyway so its all good
BMW is powerful...i like bmw ....just saying that they are not the most reliable company as with mercedes....when it comes to reliability ...nothing beats japan vehicles....by the way...lots of japanese own bmw...travel before you assume
Read before talking - I meant there are no Japanese bikes with 200PS...and I guess that was obvious...Travelmate...And maybe you should drive a BMW - I know several that run 400.000km - I guess that`s reliable enough...But you can stay with your opinion. I`m not with it.
any car can have high milege....but the maintance cost is the difference....alot of people trade in bmw at around 40k miles when the warranty is up...
You are right. But if you can afford a brand new BMW-Car or a Mercedes you don`t care that much ;-) You get a new car every 3 years anyway. And You are right again...I would rather buy two 600`s (one for the raceway, one for the street) than one expensive liter-bike. Ridin` is a damn cost-intensive hobby. And if you`re a risky guy it`s more expensive. Have a nice Life! ;o)
i just laughed as i saw the "my r1 is faster " comment about this bike . cause in reality there are just 40 years old men who are shitting pants in front of you at street , so top speed isn´t important , but the quality is germanlike - perfect !
sure looks alot like an R6, which is beautiful itself
