video cameras are deadly weapons to the old guard republican party....people NEED to see this bullshit! just how many states did this happen in? all of them? I watched similar tactics in MN and have seen all kinds of dirty tricks from several other states
I've heard one reason to vote for McCain. "He's going to keep us in the war" For those of you who love McCain for this reason, when do you think a pertinent time to exit Iraq would be? Are there any other reasons for anyone to back McCain? I haven't heard of one other reason, perhaps you guys can enlighten me?
I have already answered your question. as Kirby said "how thick are you?" I support McCain primarily because he understands the threat before us and will do a far better job as compared the isolationist and pasivist policies of Ron Paul. McCain will not pull the troops out with an arbitrary time line that is steeped in pasivism not success.
Um...no, actually this is the first time you have answered the question. I love online forums, they are so much superior to simple conversation. I thought I may have made a mistake, so I checked back, and sure enough, this is the first time you've answered why you back McCain. I was mistaken to have thought I might have been mistaken.
Actually quite some time back I said the following: "McCain was not my first choice, but I did spend the summer in the Middle East on a State Dept delegation program and found that while political leaders in the region may disagree with why we are in Iraq, they all agree that we need to stay until the job is done. Ron Paul doesn't understand this. even the Dems in the delegation had their eyes opened by our trip. pulling troops out would be a massive mistake " = I support McCain
@getrightWA this thread is three years old, and now our nation's longest war has no objective but occupation of the mid-east and the destruction of historic governments there to set up what? A radical Islamist cohesive all encompassing federated jihad mid-east. This is the excuse for Israel hegemony and the REAL third world war. Ron Paul understood this in 2008 and still is on target. A vote for McSain in 2008 was a vote for Obama. A vote for anyone else other than RP is a vote 4 Obama.
I'm not really sure what my thickness has to do with anything? I don't even know what this means, so I will opt out of answering the question, unless of course you ask me the same thing 100 more times, in which case, I'll have to think of something. I'll follow you're example in that. Thanks for finally sharing why you support McCain. That's the only reason I've heard anyone give, the war. I guess now we'll have to start debating that. Any other reasons?
you did not answer the question. should we have elected delegates based on a WAC that the party disagrees with and the courts have said we can ignore, or should we elect delegates based upon constitutional rights utilized within RNC rules? who should be able to govern RNC elections the Washington Legislature or the RNC members and thei Constitutional rights?
I think the majority should determine all of the rules. If the majority thinks the party's rules are ridiculous, let the meeting be run by what the majority feels is most efficient. The constitution doesn't specify rules for party engagements.
That is not what the Ron Paul people were screaming for at the convention and in the rules committee! They wanted to ignore the majority and recognize a WAC to award more power to the minority at the expense of constitutional free association rights. That is a fact!
McCain was not my first choice, but I did spend the summer in the Middle East on a State Dept delegation program and found that while political leaders in the region may disagree with why we are in Iraq, they all agree that we need to stay until the job is done. Ron Paul doesn't understand this. even the Dems in the delegation had their eyes opened by our trip. pulling troops out would be a massive mistake
My brother has been in Iraq for years working as a security contractor. He loves Ron Paul. Ron Paul has also received more military contributions than all other candidates combined. Why do you feel pulling out would be a mistake? Do you think our country can afford to stay? We borrow millions from China daily just for the war. Do you think this war is worth the economic disaster this country is going to have to some day own up to?
there is more at stake in this war than economic conditions. I dont think we should base foreign policy on how much money a candidate can raise from a fraction of a fraction of registered voters. They guy polls at 6.5% and about 4% of that is military. So you want to base foreign policy on the fact that 4% of 6.5% gave money to a candidate. And that support is supposed to automatilcy imply that they are against the military mission in Iraq?
That's not what I said, however, it seems like the people who have been in Iraq, military personnel, may have a better idea of what is going on over there than the average Fox News watcher. You still didn't answer my questions, why doesn't that suprise me?
The US is building an embassy in Iraq encompassing 104 acres. It costs $700 million to build and $2 billion a year to operate. Do you think there may be something else going on in Iraq aside from just trying to restore democracy? Do you think there may be some other agenda? If so, what do you think it is? If not, do you think America should restore democracy everywhere, even when we are seriously in debt ourselves? Do you think it's worth our country going broke?
What good does it do to pass resolution 1441 and then never enforce it? 1441 was violated on a daily basis. at some point you have to stand for something or you stand for nothing. I cant say that $700 million on an embassy is prudent, but that issue should be addressed on its own merit. I am not going to address national security or military strategy based on what the State Dept is spending on one building compound nor should we base policy on speculation or agendas which you cant confirm
What should we base on then? Is if fair to say you don't think the tax paying citizens of this country are entitled to opinions regarding where their money is being spent?
You are the rules guy, do you think UN resolutions should override the constitution? Do you think we should be spending at the rate we are with the deficit we have to appease the UN? I don't stand for UN resolutions, I stand for what's good for America, what about you? You still haven't said why you stand for McCain, maybe you don't even know the answer to the question.
the people need to see that Ron Paul is also a HERO! A REAL hero who doesn't compromise when it COUNTS! Compromise is good but if you compromise too much you no longer stand for anything. Remember: If you don't stand for something, you'll FALL FOR ANYTHING!
Define what "the job being done in Iraq" means. I thought we were there first and foremost based on weapons of mass destruction. Those were not there, so I believe our second objective was to take out Saddam. That also has been taken care of, so what is our purpose now?
speaking of avoiding a question...I thought you RP folk were for less government and constitutional rights? you never have responded to why the RP people were trying to say that a WAC should have had priority over free association rights protected be several supremecourt cases? so do yhou believ the WAC should have been law like all the other RP drones? you cling to that which you oppose if it suits you
Still name calling I see, still not one word of where you stand on the issues. Based on your punctuation and spelling, I have decided you clearly don't have enough intellect to even make this mindless bickering worth my time. The purpose of the laws are to enforce democracy, not to be so confusing that they intimidate the average person from participating in their own government. Some didn't understand all of the rules, this doesn't mean they should be banned from participating.
America was founded on democracy, all men being created equal. Many of the people at the convention were there for the first time. I think regardless of their views, they should be welcomed as the more tax paying citizens that show up, the better the democracy will represent the views of the many as opposed to the views of the few.
Listen you simple half wit. Before you start calling people moron, try to use simple punctuation and take the time to use that key call shift. It is on the left side of the keyboard. Sheeple are usually followers of cult like leaders...enough said.
When McCain's name comes up in discussion people know and respect him. When RP's name comes up few if any know him except by reputation which is only rememberable by RP followers. Other wise he is a "kook" to the majority of the general public. Intelligent debate is not required when the players don't come to the table with anywhere near the same playing field.
you are obviously a moron, Ron Paul would embarass the holy hell out of mcain in a one on one debate why do you think Ron Paul won almost every single post debate poll. Ron Paul also recieved more donations from military men and women than all the other canidates combined. how come you never see any mcain sign around town, how come no one shows up for his speaking engagements. people will vote for mcain because they are sheep and he has an R in front of his name.
you claim nobody lied? so you claim to know that every statement by every RP delegate was true? boy that would be some serious control of a delegation! for thee record at the county level all of the candidates stood in front of the conventionand introduced themselves and declared which candidate they would support. two of the RP delegates declred themselves for mc cain
I'm not sure who those candidates were, but my guess would be that they may have been for McCain at that time because they didn't know any better. Chances are, unlike yourself, they decided to educate themselves and made the intelligent decision to change their candidate.
Any one who would consider themselves a "republican" or conservative would not list the Seattle Times as their proof of anything. Since it seems that most of the RP supporters are already dancing on the grave of McCain's presidental bid, what is it that makes you want to be in the GOP. Oh I forgot. Most of the half-wits that RP has rounded up haven't been involved, let alone voted in ANY election year. RP followers give rent a mob a bad rep.
I have a strange feeling that if the Seattle Times posted a quote by Luke Esser that was a blatant lie, there may be some sort documentation you could provide to show that? If not, I'll have to assume the quote is correct. I am a Repulican because I believe in what the Republican party was founded upon, limited government, local control and a federal presence that acts merely in the interest of protecting our country. Can you tell me how McCain encompasses any of these ideals?
If this is your idea of an intelligent debate, I think I will have to doubt John McCain all the more. From my experience, McCain supporters are very uneducated about their own candidate, which would make me believe you are probably equally as uneducated about Ron Paul. That would explain why you call us childish names as opposed maybe suggesting an area were McCain may be superior to Paul. I'll say it again, this is just too easy!!
cmanw (15 hours ago) I got the most votes of anyone in my LD
So what, that just means that you were from one of the few LD that had more RP than McCain delegates. WOW I can't imagine how you won that vote. The whole "Lied to for 8 years" belies your kook fring leanings which give you no credibility to predict the General election. Please make sure to bring the Kool-aid to your next LOVE rally.
He won the delegation in Snohomish County because people liked him. They voted for him because he is an intelligent, well informed asset to the Republican Party. Did anyone vote for you?
everyone of those RP delegates that lied about being a McCain supporter to get elected to the convention should have got their voting rights taken away. they are cowards who should have had the courage to stand and say I am an idiot and I support Ron Paul. instaed they lied like cowards
Nobody lied, but if I looked as foolish as you do right now, I might try to spread some false rumors too. Actually, that isn't even necessary, you guys seem to have an innate ability for making fools out of yourselves. You still haven't said anything with any substance. It's just too easy!!!
Maybe you should actually take the time to research what you are saying. Try watching candidates at google. First watch McCain, then watch Ron Paul. When you've educated yourself a little, come back and have an intelligent debate. Consider this a friendly invitation.
Ron Paul had a large presence because people like him, and therefore voted for him and his supporters. Perhaps you think we should rally around McCain because he won the primary, well he didn't. Check out the Seattle Times on February 10. Luke Esser goes over his ridiculous excuse for not counting all of the ballots. Democracy is not what was responsible for McCain supposedly taking the primary, but democracy is what determined our presence there. Sorry that upsets you, well, not that sorry!
I've never once said that I was a McCain supporter. I got the most votes of anyone in my LD, and everyone knew that I was a Ron Paul supporter.
Sorry to have to put you in your place, but like she said, you're making it to easy.
BTW, McCain is going to get absolutely CRUSHED in the general election. America will never get behind a pro-war candidate after we've been lied to for 8 years.
getrightWA, you certainly sound like a McCain supporter! "Take your voting rights away". . . just like a McCain supporter to want to butcher the constitution even more then Bush has.
Every McCain supporter who walked out of that room is a complete coward, and should have permanentaly lost their voting previleges for the duration of the convention. I will NEVER walk out of any convention in order to cheat democracy.
how about the video of The RP supporter Delevar caught on tape counting empty chairs and reporting a count of 70 when she only had 62. then she tried to count delegates that were not in her delegation but were RP supporters in the next row from Cowlitz not Clark? again caught on tape!
I stand for democracy, the voice of the people as the people are necessary to support the government. The people's opinions should be respected no matter what they are, and especially if they are the majority. OK getitrightWA, since most of you McCain folk have no idea where you stand on any issues, here's your big chance, what do you stand for? and why did you walk out? We're all dying to know.
you don't know how the rules work or how or why they even came to be because you have not been active in the party yet you know that they have been violated? then you invoke and cling to a WAC and want government to decide the ballot process in a private organization which spits in the face of everything you are supposed to stand for. now less government and constitutional rights don't matter because they stand in th way of your agenda
Our agenda is giving the people a voice in government, as it was meant to be. What's your agenda? Seems to me if you had any respect for democracy, you would welcome new people, not try to extradite them because they haven't learned the rules yet.
you don't know how the rules work or how or why they even came to be because you have not been active in the party yet you know that they have been violated? then you invoke and cling to a WAC and want government to decide the ballot process in a private organization which spits in the face of everything you are supposed to stand for. now less government and constitutional rights don't matter because they stand in th way of your agenda
you don't have to know the rules to participate, but when the bus pulls up to the rules bus pulls up to the bus stop and you can't figure out whether it is going to take you where you need to go it isn't going to wait for you to figure it out at the expense of everyone else on board who took time out of their lives to get something done
my god...do you homework first! the RP folk elected a chair in the 3rd CD who did not know who our statewide elected Republicans were who were in the room, did not know what a PCO was, and had no clue how to chair a meeting. it was ajoke
Should a person be banned from government if they don't understand the rules? America is a democracy, a government that was created in order to respect the voice of the people. If the rules of government confuse the average person, should the average person be shunned from participating in their own government? You have taken offense to the elected person as opposed to taking offense to the inability for the powers at large to operate by rules which are user friendly to the general public.
getrightWA: You're right, we RP people are politically clueless in many ways. Our inexperience makes it difficult for us to master the subtle art of ballot fraud, for instance. We're also unsavvy about voting sheeplike to stifle debate using "yes" and "no" signs. Not to mention leaving the convention when things don't go your way- that strategy blew our minds! Yep, if only we didn't let our principles get in the way of our political education, maybe we could be as smart as you McCain guys.
RP is full of hypocrisy as they threatened legal action if the rules committee did not recognize a WAC in governing delegate elections. so are you for less government and constitutional rights or not
Perhaps you are an elitist, perhaps you think that if one can't name each and every elected official, that person is not worthy of participating. Actually, every American is worthy of participating for this reason; Each politician's livelihood is directly funded by taxpayer's dollars. Since the taxpayers are paying these people to represent our best interests, it is in our best interest to be involved in the process. Can you respect America and filter the voice of the people simeoutaneously?
Eu vs San Fransisco Dem Central Committee supreme court ruling says that a Part has constitutional rights of free assembly and there fore states cannot have a roll in governing party elections
The PCO was elected by a group of people who felt that PCO would best represent their interests. That is democracy, and as a fellow American yourself, you should respect the voice of the people regardless of your personal position.
You gotta LOVE how un-democractic and anti-American the McCain supporters are. When things aren't going their way at the conventions, they just walk out. They're a disgrace to the Democratic process, and therefore a disgrace to America. It's no wonder they support such an un-democratic candidate such as John McCain. "There's too many people here who support conservatism and the Constitution which is supposed to be the Law of the Land. Let's just leave. I want my liberal neo-Con McCain."
If RP has all of the solutions why is it they haven't been voted on overwhelmingly by all of the other RP supporters in congress. Oh my bad I forgot, he doesn't have more than a few. Blessed be those that have not a clue because they no not what they don't know. Grow up. You have caught the tail wind of the 60's and are beginning to believe your own propaganda. I might have some respect for you if you fessed up to wanting to cause disruption in the GOP just to elect Dems
Interesting how we have a few comments that bash Ron Paul. How do these folks who live off of the taxpayers have any more credibility when it comes to "having a clue" as to what is best for us. I still haven't heard one person give a logical explanation to a walkout. Those who walked out should be ashamed of themselves. People should be encouraged to participate in our government, that's how our government began.
Most of the alternates were Ron Paul supporters. If they would have given their badges to the alternates from their counties, like they are supposed to do, Ron Paul would have quickly gained the majority, as about 40 percent of the delegates were already Ron Paul supporters.
By walking out they attempted to force the convention to adjourn. They failed. But they had other legal tricks up their sleeve to run out the clock.
Thanks Kanga - But what was the bottom line? I'm a Ron supporter myself so I have been following the state conventions closely - I dont understand how they can just walk out. Are you a delegate in WA?
I was about 10 rows up from this vid in Whatcom county, out chair Chet Dow also walked out on us, and then was trying to avoid taking our votes for the two role call votes. He tried to not count us and we had to call over a Sergent at arms to take our votes!!----We WILL REPLACE him this December as our county chair. Sing up to be a PCO TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!
Vote Ron Paul for real change......otherwise you will be sorry - they all have the same agenda......you tube Ron Paul.....he has never voted for a tax increase and see what other things he will do....
The only one smart enough to guide us out of this fiasco IS Ron Paul. We have a very hard road ahead of us if we dont get someone who TRULY values liberty. The real terrorists devalue your dollar, take away the manufacturing base, and flood the borders! We are at war to make sure that our currency IS the only one used in middleeastern oil transactions. Oil replaced the gold standard for our fiat dollar via the Saudis. Countries are refusing our dollar in favor of more valued currencies. Soon $=0
at 2:00 you can see Deryl McCarty Leaving - he is the CHAIR of Pierce county GOP. Good to know he doesn't like debate and just wanted to divide the 2 camps even more. If they hadn't left they could have kept the majority and never let any "crazy" resolutions pass.. which is the excuse for leaving that I have heard. It's a buncha BS. Good ol' Deryl.
And the Macainiacs wonder how Obama won!? Time for a changing of the gaurd.

Can you tell me how McCain encompasses any of these ideals?
ardvarkm 3 years ago

Please make sure to bring the Kool-aid to your next LOVE rally.
votegop57 3 years ago
He won the delegation in Snohomish County because people liked him. They voted for him because he is an intelligent, well informed asset to the Republican Party. Did anyone vote for you?
ardvarkm 3 years ago
everyone of those RP delegates that lied about being a McCain supporter to get elected to the convention should have got their voting rights taken away. they are cowards who should have had the courage to stand and say I am an idiot and I support Ron Paul. instaed they lied like cowards
getrightWA 3 years ago
Nobody lied, but if I looked as foolish as you do right now, I might try to spread some false rumors too. Actually, that isn't even necessary, you guys seem to have an innate ability for making fools out of yourselves. You still haven't said anything with any substance. It's just too easy!!!
ardvarkm 3 years ago
Maybe you should actually take the time to research what you are saying. Try watching candidates at google. First watch McCain, then watch Ron Paul. When you've educated yourself a little, come back and have an intelligent debate. Consider this a friendly invitation.
ardvarkm 3 years ago
Ron Paul had a large presence because people like him, and therefore voted for him and his supporters. Perhaps you think we should rally around McCain because he won the primary, well he didn't. Check out the Seattle Times on February 10. Luke Esser goes over his ridiculous excuse for not counting all of the ballots. Democracy is not what was responsible for McCain supposedly taking the primary, but democracy is what determined our presence there. Sorry that upsets you, well, not that sorry!
ardvarkm 3 years ago
I've never once said that I was a McCain supporter. I got the most votes of anyone in my LD, and everyone knew that I was a Ron Paul supporter.
Sorry to have to put you in your place, but like she said, you're making it to easy.
BTW, McCain is going to get absolutely CRUSHED in the general election. America will never get behind a pro-war candidate after we've been lied to for 8 years.
cmanw 3 years ago
getrightWA, you certainly sound like a McCain supporter! "Take your voting rights away". . . just like a McCain supporter to want to butcher the constitution even more then Bush has.
cmanw 3 years ago
Every McCain supporter who walked out of that room is a complete coward, and should have permanentaly lost their voting previleges for the duration of the convention. I will NEVER walk out of any convention in order to cheat democracy.
To bad we still had a quorum, SUCKERS!!!
cmanw 3 years ago
how about the video of The RP supporter Delevar caught on tape counting empty chairs and reporting a count of 70 when she only had 62. then she tried to count delegates that were not in her delegation but were RP supporters in the next row from Cowlitz not Clark? again caught on tape!
getrightWA 3 years ago
I stand for democracy, the voice of the people as the people are necessary to support the government. The people's opinions should be respected no matter what they are, and especially if they are the majority. OK getitrightWA, since most of you McCain folk have no idea where you stand on any issues, here's your big chance, what do you stand for? and why did you walk out? We're all dying to know.
ardvarkm 3 years ago
can somebody post slide 8 for the RP people again? slide 8 that was classic! too funny
getrightWA 3 years ago
you don't know how the rules work or how or why they even came to be because you have not been active in the party yet you know that they have been violated? then you invoke and cling to a WAC and want government to decide the ballot process in a private organization which spits in the face of everything you are supposed to stand for. now less government and constitutional rights don't matter because they stand in th way of your agenda
getrightWA 3 years ago
Our agenda is giving the people a voice in government, as it was meant to be. What's your agenda? Seems to me if you had any respect for democracy, you would welcome new people, not try to extradite them because they haven't learned the rules yet.

you don't have to know the rules to participate, but when the bus pulls up to the rules bus pulls up to the bus stop and you can't figure out whether it is going to take you where you need to go it isn't going to wait for you to figure it out at the expense of everyone else on board who took time out of their lives to get something done
getrightWA 3 years ago
my god...do you homework first! the RP folk elected a chair in the 3rd CD who did not know who our statewide elected Republicans were who were in the room, did not know what a PCO was, and had no clue how to chair a meeting. it was ajoke
getrightWA 3 years ago

Yep, if only we didn't let our principles get in the way of our political education, maybe we could be as smart as you McCain guys.
nolanlawson 3 years ago
RP is full of hypocrisy as they threatened legal action if the rules committee did not recognize a WAC in governing delegate elections. so are you for less government and constitutional rights or not
getrightWA 3 years ago
Perhaps you are an elitist, perhaps you think that if one can't name each and every elected official, that person is not worthy of participating. Actually, every American is worthy of participating for this reason; Each politician's livelihood is directly funded by taxpayer's dollars. Since the taxpayers are paying these people to represent our best interests, it is in our best interest to be involved in the process. Can you respect America and filter the voice of the people simeoutaneously?
ardvarkm 3 years ago
Where is the hypocrisy? If you make the claim, please share how this applies. I think you may want to consider moving to communist China.

Eu vs San Fransisco Dem Central Committee supreme court ruling says that a Part has constitutional rights of free assembly and there fore states cannot have a roll in governing party elections
getrightWA 3 years ago
The PCO was elected by a group of people who felt that PCO would best represent their interests. That is democracy, and as a fellow American yourself, you should respect the voice of the people regardless of your personal position.
ardvarkm 3 years ago

I might have some respect for you if you fessed up to wanting to cause disruption in the GOP just to elect Dems
votegop57 3 years ago
Interesting how we have a few comments that bash Ron Paul. How do these folks who live off of the taxpayers have any more credibility when it comes to "having a clue" as to what is best for us. I still haven't heard one person give a logical explanation to a walkout. Those who walked out should be ashamed of themselves. People should be encouraged to participate in our government, that's how our government began.
ardvarkm 3 years ago
What exactly happened here? If they refused to give their badges to alternates, then what happens?
angelsoulnme 3 years ago
Most of the alternates were Ron Paul supporters. If they would have given their badges to the alternates from their counties, like they are supposed to do, Ron Paul would have quickly gained the majority, as about 40 percent of the delegates were already Ron Paul supporters.
By walking out they attempted to force the convention to adjourn. They failed. But they had other legal tricks up their sleeve to run out the clock.
kangalanatolian 3 years ago
Thanks Kanga - But what was the bottom line? I'm a Ron supporter myself so I have been following the state conventions closely - I dont understand how they can just walk out. Are you a delegate in WA?
angelsoulnme 3 years ago
I was about 10 rows up from this vid in Whatcom county, out chair Chet Dow also walked out on us, and then was trying to avoid taking our votes for the two role call votes. He tried to not count us and we had to call over a Sergent at arms to take our votes!!----We WILL REPLACE him this December as our county chair. Sing up to be a PCO TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!

Thats the Neocons leaving the party. Not the REAL Republicans. Ron Paul till I die.

The losers for McStain tried to cut and run. That was when they suffered their only real defeat. Should have followed their own advice.
Once quorum was established, the body voted to affirm that ONLY CONGRESS should have the power to declare war and commence hostilities.
kangalanatolian 3 years ago 7
There should be a rule stating that if you walk out and leave the convention then you will not be allowed back in.

Ha HA, the McCain people are bloody retarded, I suppose they enjoy a life of war and big government.
