@BayIt Well, Sarah Lou is notorious for being cocky. In a match against Hitomi1, she even made comments like, "She can't beat me!" in the middle of the match, and said that she knew she was going to win after the match was over.
Still, Mystik has been a bitch too. Just in a more subtle way. She taunted Kasumi Chan after beating her 5-0, and in the middle of that match, she said "It's so easy!" into the mic.
@Cachinscythe4335 Actually as someone who was very close the CGS and got know the players, i can hand over heart say that the 'cocky' act is just an act. Odee encourages all his players to psyche out their opponents. If you had seen the CS:Source final (not the tv edit) you would have heard the trash the talking Salvo were dishing out at Optx...and their manager!
Trust me, there are DOA players who are down right rude (off screen) and there are very humble ones, best example is Phoenix.
@PitKnight13 I know what you mean. When I first saw this match, I laughed at that round. Sarah Lou is a good player, but she's definitely not the best, and that round shows why: she doesn't have good defense. When someone can perform the same move three times in a row and you don't block it, you've definitely revealed a weakness.
Sarah Lou also plays in a very patterned way, which makes it easier to adapt to her.
@Cachinscythe4335 Agreed, shes all about the offensive, alot like Vanessa. The difference being that Hitomi actually has the mix ups to pull off a full a blown offensive. Kasumi doesnt have the frame advantages and mix ups to do that.
@BayIt You sound like you know a lot about the game. I actually just started learning to play it this last summer. I'm looking to improve as much as possible. I already know how to free cancel to extend combos, but I've still got a lot to learn about anticipating my opponent's moves. I generally use Kasumi, but I'm learning a bit about Hitomi as well.
I was wondering could you explain all this talk about "counting frames"? What does it mean and how is it helpful? And what's a frame advantage?
