Listen, I have done a lot of history about the great war and the gap that follows afterwords in the history and when the slaves write their own flase stories. You want any more links, let me know and I'll be more than happy to share the information
Germans (Hitler) had a great deal of work to do with the Aryans as he believed in Indra. Takshaks who killed king PArikshit were banished from Indraprastha, went and established Taxila, banished from there, split up, one group went east and settled down in Takshasthan (turkeystan) and other settled in Takshkand (Tashkent).
"Even Krishna was cursed by Gandhari for the massacre of her sons and he died bcuz of d curse,so he is held responsible"
Actualy this curse of Gandhari had no effect on krishna, as the Yadavas were unworn to the any warrior on earth. so they were likely to finish by fighting between them. krishna was very well aware of this. and Gandhari's curse this way had no effect on Krishna. what she cursed was the well known fact to krishna. krishan new the way his son going to end including all yadavs
Krishna was God....he knew everything thats gonna happen....he even said that to Arjun during recital of the Bhagvad Gita....
He always knew that Karna is gonna die at the hands of Arjun....does that mean Parshuram's curse had no effect on Karna....
Prior knowledge of an event does not change the fact that it happened, nobody can decipher what caused it....gandhari's curse was just a means to an end....
if only duryodhan was the problem, then y didnt pandavs eliminate him at the first day itself. it wld have saved so many lives and so many great people.
Duryodhan Wasn't the only Problem. There was a lot more that played role to this war. And again main point of Mahabharata was to set an example for future generations. and that was the reason why Gita was told.
yeah you were correct. 4 important nectars have been obtained from Mahabharatha which is the main thing to be understood rather than quarelling over what each characters did. The 4 nectars are
1) Yakshyaprasnam
2) Bhagvat gita
3) Needhi/ DharmaShashtra
4) Sri Vishnu Sahasranamam
1-questions containing point of life asked by yamadeva to Yudhishtra 2- told by krishna to arjun 3&4-were discussed by yudhishtra and bheeshma which came out as these 2(when bheeshma was lying in arrow bed)
because duryodhan wasn't the only man standing on the battle field yelling "come fight me" incase of pandavas..if arjun dies everyone dies..in case of kauravas durodhan was something called "MORAL SUPPORT" to the kauravas..plus Kripacharya, Bheesmacharya, Dronacharya protected Duryodhan in various Viyugas war isnt a walk in the park..its something tactical...this is what abhimanyu misunderstood and he went in to chakra viyuga and lost his life by getting trapped in it.
anyone else seems to think that everyone here is crazy? talk about lack of demagi santulan.
"Go get victory but beware i will try to defeat you but hang on this is in no way suicide althogh we may me killign ourselves by fighting you but knowing the outcome of the war. but we are fighters and we need to fight coz its our duty but hang on we dont care about or only major duty towards the lord."
If thats the case then even pandu and drithrastra were sons of vyasa muni. They became uthradhikari since ambika and ambalika were queens and so pandavas were uthradhikari since kunthi was a queen. As yudhishtir was eldest among the whole kuru prince' he was supposed to be the crown prince.
what it means is that duryodhan who represents adharma (or untruth) will be defeated at any cost. The gist is that Duryodhan failed to recognize who krishna was? and he was challenging the god for a fight. The moral is that no matter how strongly adharm (duryodhan) is protected (by bhisma, drona, karna etc), god will find a way to defeat the adharma to impose dharma (truth). krishna was conducting this war to teach a lesson to man kind that no matter what adharma does truth will prevail in end.
Truth is that the kuru clan had a better claim to the throne. Pandu had no sons sired by him. There was no legal reason to give Panduvas any land. Granted, Duryodhan could have saved himself a lot of trouble if he just gave them 5 lousy villages and tempered his pride, ill-feelings and jealousy.
When A Woman Concieves A Child, irrespective of Who The Biolofical Father is, The Child has The Right to His Legal Father's Throne as long as The Man and The Woman Decide to Live Together until Separated By Death.
hello humble... this may be a modern law, but not the law of the land in the ancient times. The pandavas certainly had no right to anything. Moreover Pandu renounced everything when he went into exile, so even if the pandavas were legitimate sons of Pandu, they would still have not have a right to the throne, since Pandu already gave it up.
Dont mix your religious prejudice with real history, and the mahabharat minus the magic was real history.
yes....pandava's were not real sons of Pandu,so technically they had no right to the throne....but do u realise even dhritrashtra n pandu were not real sons of vichitravirya....still pandu was made king....i thing from that very day "the law of the land in ancient times" underwent some amendments
moreover.dhritrashtra was NOT the king, pandu was made the king cuz his elder brother was blind and that very day his sons became heir to the throne and got all their right towards it
Pandu and Dhritrashtra were not the sons Vichitravirya, but the sons of Vyasa and Ambika and Ambalika. Now Vyasa was the son of Satyavati, born to her before her marriage to Santanu, something you may not know. Satyavati calls Vyas to keep beget her grandsons to keep the throne in her dynasty.
When a king died without male heir, such measures were required and did not contradict any laws.
Further a king could always appoint anybody as his successor even if he had sons as Bharatha did.
However as a general practice it was very rare for a king's son not to succeed him. This was Duryodhan's gripe. Right from the moment the Pandavas arrive after in Hastinapur after Pandu's death, Vidur starts favouring Yudhisthir which makes Duryodhan jealous.
I am not arguing that the actions of Kauravas were right. I am only saying that Duryodhan had plenty of reason to think that Yudhisthir was taking away what was rightfully his throne.
Dhrithrashtr is pressured by Vidur to crown Yudhisthir the prince and heir to the throne.
Ever wondered why the Kauravas are called so and not something like 'Dhrithrashtravas'. It is because they were considered the legitimate heirs of the Kuru vamsa which is a very ancient and famous dynasty. Vyasa himself thought so by naming them such. Many other kings of that time felt that Duryodhan was the rightful heir and supported him in the final war.
and the most important point....PANDAVAS NEVER ASKED FOR THE KINGDOM OF HASTINAPUR....they only wanted Indraprastha, which was gifted to them by Dhritarashtra, evn dat was reduced to 5 villages,1 for each pandav....Duryodhan wud've still remained the heir to the Kuru kingdom and Yudhishthir cud've peacefully started a separate kingdom of his own
FYI all d kingdoms were in sum way or d other related to each other ie. they had common roots....but they had divided it among brothers
but i will agree with you on one thing....the original Mahabharat presents the Kaurav clan as gr8 heroes who went astray bcuz of their greed....duryodhan and karn were gr8 kshatriyas who ascended to heaven after the battle
Even Krishna was cursed by Gandhari for the massacre of her sons and he died bcuz of d curse,so he is held responsible
But the serial simply shows "Pandavs were good guys,Kauravs were bad guys"....and that is something which takes away the subtlety and beauty of the book
buddy i know very well that vyas was d son of satyavati, also called matsyagandha, and parashar....but still that does not make him of royal blood....n so pandu and dhritrashtra also were not of kuru blood....thats d entire point
n my source is not BR Chopra's Mahabharat....i just recently started watching it on star utsav....my source is the actual mahabharat, which actually presents duryodhan n karn in a fairly good light,n it also calls them gr8 warriors, but still it highlights their bad karma
moreover when pandu renounced his kingdom....his sons didn't....technically dhritrashtra was only a cretaker
and....dont forget....even dhritrashtra had an option to choose a crowned prince....and after long discussions he himself made yudhishthir the prince....so that day he aqcuired the right to the throne of Hastinapur
if u still dont think yudhishthir had a right to bcum the king.....well....u sound just like duryodhan
I think you get your info from BR Chopra's serial which is not accurate. When Pandu left the throne it was already known to everybody that he was cursed/impotent and hence there was no chance of him having any sons. Remember nobody, not even Pandu knew of Kunti's boon to get sons. So Drithrashtra is appointed King not some 'caretaker' . BR Chopra distorts this, but in ancient India Kings were often referred to as servants or caretakers of people, to emphasize their responsibilities.
Finally my whole point of the comments is that Mahabharat is not some black and white story. The Kauravas had legitimate reasons and they too had dharma on their side. The Pandavas too committed adharma many times but Krishna was always around to do a good public relations job for them. This is the reason the Mahabharat was always seriously studied, since everybody had shades of grey and all the major characters had to deal with tough moral choices. This is my point.
The entire clan is kuru clan. King in 'bharat vansh' are supposed to be followers of Dharm and Karm. So, the eldest son may not become the King. Karn has mentioned this in one of the episodes.
Yuyutsu was not the son of Gandhari. He was the son of a maid, the illegitimate child of Dhrithrashtra. He had no chance of becoming a proper prince since there were a 100 legitimate princes ahead of him. The pandu brothers would have considerate towards him especially considering the fact that they were not the children of Pandu at all. Simple poticial selfish reason.
At a superficial level it may appear to be cheating but the fact is that Bhisma, Drona, Ashwathama were bestowed with Ichha Mrityu. They couldn't be defeated by anybody. Duryodhan took advantage of their attributes to basically commit adharma after adharma. He knew that he couldn't be harmed as long as these folks are protecting him.
True, Adharma tried to take cover using weapons of dharma such as Sri Bhishmadeva and Sri Dronacharya. So, Dharma had to kill its own weapons. ANything that is done to establish Dharma and Truth is valid as long as nothing is selfish!
