@wygrzanko the pdx 3000 mk2 still has the old tonearm system (ASTS = anti skipping tonearm system), not the better one (ASTS with dynamic balance technology). the latter was, by default, only built into the pdx 2000 mk2 pro, and is of silver colour.

i agree, that the platters of the vestax are complete bullshit....they have a bad montation, if u put your hand on one side the other side goes up, because they used not enought metal to make a solid thing like the good old technics.....i kept my 2 technics and bought just one vestax 3000 for cutting ;)

if i have time im going to make another tutorial and explain a way to accept this hack to the technics 1210. its not that easy to port this trick on the 1210.

if you want to apply this hack an a 1210 it would be a little tricky. if you only use a rubber band you will have unwanted side-forces. ill try to make a other video and show how you make a little construct to make a good portation of this hack on a technics

@revnu2 i try your tips on my mk2 . I put the rubber band and the toothpick around the weight, and put a second rubberband to the toothpick to the arm just behind the weight .It works very well , it is very smooth,and at first i was surprised.Thanks for this.

if u are a scratcher i would recommend using it this way, because the earth-gravity has not such an high acceleration like the rubber band.....with the band the needle "glues" on the vinyl and its much skipproof and ready for extremscratch-moves. and if u mange to adjust it to 3-4 gramms (shure44) when it is not harmfull to the vinyl at all

I was a bit disappointed after buying the 3000s too (there was a limited series of 3000s with the QFO tonearm in Japan, but getting a pair of those was near impossible), but I haven't made any modifications to the tonearm and it hasn't let me down in 2 years. I'll try this mod for shits 'n giggles, but I don't think I'll end up using it regularly. the MIDI pitch feature makes up for everything anyway .)

i know the special version i also wanted to get one. but they there real expansive, when the idea was to buy only the tonearm of the pdx2000pro, but the arm alone was like 180$....after sucsessless searching the internet for an cheaper source i was angry, run in the kitchen, took a few things and made it myself :)

Good Job man ! Ill try that on my PDX-2000 (without mk2, pro, gti or ultra-hyper what-so-ever).

They tend to skip from time to time, even though the counterweight is on full force.

i first thought that it is not possible, because the 1210 has a different montage of the tonarm....i just looked and i think it IS possible, but little harder to manage.
