I think every christian instantly loves Keith Green when they hear him! The intro from the brother said it all! In Christ's Love, BobbyK P.S. I use to wonder why Last Day Ministries use to give away so many free Keith Green cassettes, etc! These people were so poor, they couldn't shell out less than 10 bucks? If that was true, how did they afford to live, period! I don't like when people just take all the time, because they can! In Christ's Agape Love, BobbyK
Thanks for uploading this video! If you want you can go to facebook, type in Alan Chrysler in independence,ks and look for a guy with 2 kids holding a cross next to a motor cycle. and add me and Ill accept. I have lots of cool things on my wall. Thanks!
This song was playing today as I called my finance company today...after scraping together the car payment. I grew up with K.G. and their monthly newletters. Please read his biography written by his wife, NO COMPROMISE. A wonderful book and I'd read it again and recommend it to anybody, Christian or not. Amazing. I still listen to his music at least twice a week.

You know, Amberonii, I'm not saying these things to put you down, but wasn't Keith's message wake up and start taking things seriously for Christ. That is taking up a cross. Your comment about 'just listen to the music and stop taking' makes Keith's message meaningless. You guys keep saying you want another Kieth Green, well aren't you Christians. In Keith's words little Jesus's. Whty don't you guys be a Keith Green instead hoping for another one.
@Amberoniii I'm sorry guy, I was just going to let your comment slide, but you know, I kind of identify with this Keith Green. We've had the same questions, we both want to stand up for what is right in the scriptures, and by the scriptures ONLY. And I'm not trying to make myself out to be special, but Amberonii, DON"T YOU WANT TO BE SOMEBODY LIKE KEITH GREEN????
@Amberoniii When some body says that Keith Green wasn't Jewish but a Christian, doesn't that make you mad!!! The scriptures say that in Christ we are all Jewish, once again read Romans 2:28-29. You should be defending the scriptures. You know if you feel that we should just get fat on Keith Green's music, and forget the content of his message cause it just might cause trouble, then why do you bother looking at the comments.
So let's just say that Keith was a jewish person physically, who went on a spiritual search for truth until he found his Hebrew heratage through Christ. That is, the jewish scriptures came alive in his heart in the Son of God.
I would like to add one more thing to what I said 21 hrs ago, that wouldn't it be more fair to say that Kieth was a Jewish person who converted to Christinanity, that is he accepted, if you will, Jesus as his Messiah. But he didn't sease being Jewish. Paul states in Romans 2; 28-29 that a real jew is one circumcised from the heart, not from the flesh.
keith green man of God, poured out his life like a drink offering, what an example he left for us, he ran his race so fast that he ran right outta here and unto the Prize of the high calling...our Lord Jesus.
Keith Green early in his career questioned the 'new gospel', the one that quoted John 3:16 ad nauseum (sorry, Katherine) and led people in the catagorically unscriptural exercise of a 'sinner's prayer'. I remember watching him mock Billy Graham in a concert in Austin. He pretended that Jesus was preaching like BG ("the camel trains, they'll wait!"). At the time it absolutely shocked me, but God gave me understanding. Too bad KG changed near the end, though. Some dangerous people got to him.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3

Do you know Him? Does Jesus Christ know you?
`
"There is only one way to receive eternal life and one name to believe in to receive salvation.
“the name of Jesus Christ . . . Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." Acts 4:10-12
It looks like Keith may have been assasinated because he was reeeeallly starting to expose some dangerous stuff (rev17). Time for us to pick up the slack bros!!!
@Dezarann So Christ was not Jewish? Not trying to start any trouble, but this Keith Green, who from my studies of him, seemed more authintic than other famous "christian leaders" out there. And he himself said that Christ, which means in Hebrew, Messiah, truely lived in his heart. So wouldn't you say the that the most Jewish person of all live in his heart, since Christ said He was the Jewish I Am? Not to mention that Christ Himself taught Jewish beliefs, not Protesism or Catholosism.
@Dezarann In truth, there is NO DIFFERENCE between what Moses taught and what Christ taught. If I remember my scriptures, the Messiah is the fufillment of what Moses taught. So in truth, there is no diffrerence between TRUE Christianity and TRUE Judiaism. They're both one.
@harald144 Really? Thousands in Europe play Keith Green's music? We American believers have no idea about the body of Christ in Europe. All we know is the cathedrals are empty. Where are our brethren in Europe, and what are they doing? Where are they still gathering? We don't hear from them. We don't get books or music from them...nothing. How can we pray for them?
@1robinsong I this the american way of life to have such prejudices and to be so arrogant and ignorant opposite to non american people? Yes, in some european countries are some of the great churches less attended, but there exist so many other churches, for example the baptist churches, which are high frequented. Many of the european christian have got to know and learned to appreciate the CCM. I still love the music from 2nd Chapter of Acts, they are very popular in Europe. So it is, brother!
@Mscourage07 Forgive my ignorance, brother. I do not live in Europe. Nor have I travelled there more than a couple weeks of sight-seeing. Certainly not enough to get to know the people and their ways. What we know of Europe is not based on the true knowledge that can only come with travel. It would be very nice if US pastors or news agencies gave us information about our brethren in Europe, but we get nothing at all. Zero connection. Sadly.
@1robinsong Hello brother, i am a sister(!), pardon me my hard words...! For me it´s very important to respect other people and their way of thinking and believing, wether they are christians, moslems or jews, but i´m not tolerant against people, who look down upon others. I believe in Jesus, that gods love is much greater as we know and for that reason i can´t believe that all the people who are not christians are lost. If you´ve fun to get to know a german christian musician, visit my chanel.
@1robinsong ... his name is Xavier Naidoo and his band called "Söhne Mannheims". Some of his songs are translated in english or have english passages. In Germany he is very popular and well known as a very critical but deep believing person. I like him very much just as his sincerity. Greetings from Germany.
@Mscourage07 Oh, wow. I've done a little browsing of this group's channel and the info on wikipedia (I won't stop there) . . . How can I thank you for introducing me to this man and his band? Thank you so very much. Now I just have to go get myself a german-english dictionary, and I'll be ready! This man is very popular in Germany? That tells me something good about the Germans (I always knew they were a great people--my grandpa's German). If only Babylon the Great (USA) had a Sohne Mannheim.
@1robinsong You´ve ask me, if i am a musician, no, not really, but i´ve sung in different choirs. Now i would prefer to sing the songs from 2 nd Chapter of Acts, this group was so incredible, especially Matt with his overwhelming voice. Do you know about them? Thanks for your friendly resonance! I am very glad, that you like Xavier.., he is very authentic and so native in spite of his great success. He is also popular in some european countries and hie spirit joins us too. Blessings!
@ThankYaPetra It wasn't arrogant, he was just wanting people to focus on God through the song lyrics and not on him. They were clapping for him, and if you watched the documentary on his life, you would know that Keith was always uncomfortable about people clapping for him. He wanted the focus to completely be on Jesus.
@ClassicCartoonsGuy - One of the things he and Rich Mullins had in common. And now they have heaven in common! :) I love those guys. (And i think he was being very light-hearted about the applause deal!)
He was and still is one of the few singer/musician/songwriters who sounds just as good live as he does on the recording. We lost a great "John the Baptist" of our time.
Keith Green cannot be summed up by anyone, because the Spirit of Jesus lived inside of Him. And that same Spirit is available to ALL who will believe.
I think Keith looks a lot like what Christ looks like...he came from a Jewish background, like Christ, and the awesome 'fro and the beard...Keith was a man of the Lord, Lord brought him home at a young age, and we are lucky his music remains with us.
I think Keith looks a lot like what Christ looks like...he came from a Jewish background, like Christ, and the awesome 'fro and the beard...Keith was a man of the Lord, Lord brought him home at a young age, and we are lucky his music remains with us.
@MegaHorses2 Wow, did you know him personally? Where and when did you meet him if you don't mind me asking? I wish I had, he seems to have had such an amazing spirit, even now listening to some of his music can make you want to weep.
The remark doesn't have anything to do with not having the attention on him he made a similar remark on another video called "So you want to go back to Egypt" I just watched it and he does not like people clapping while he is singing because he wants them to hear the lyrics- thats what he said in he other video I just mentioned. He said thats why he left his drummer home.
Jesus Christ the true Messiah will be returning soon and Keith will be with Him. I had the privilege of seeing him perform in a small venue at a church in Pomona. He never appeared brazen or harsh to me, and always had so much love for God in his heart. It's true, he never accepted payment for his concerts. Quite the contrary, the dangerous personalities are those that lurk in the shadows and disclaim the true power of the name Jesus Christ. Can't wait to see Keith in heaven.
Something really unique about Keith: we've all met ferociously intense believers who are utterly humorless. Conversely, are those Christians who just want everything to stay light, fluffy, and happy all the time. Keith, curiously, was as sober a disciple as you'll find -- some people actually found him quite abrasive because of his passion. Still, he never lost his clearly quirky, impish sense of humor. This song, among many others, is a crystal clear example of the marriage of those qualities.
@sjplwc It is hard to be humorous in a world where no one seems to care enough to act... In a LUKEWARM world. The qualities of ferverence are SO much better than being funny.
JESUS COMING VERY Soon and then Can NoOne neglect HIM THE TRUTH-JESUS-Jump on The Eternal Love-Grace-StormWind-FireLight-CROSS-Eagle-SpaceRocketShip-JESUS-CHRIST-Jump On Soon it is to Late-Sorry But JESUS Really Loves You All With Eternal Love-Hallelujah What a Amazing Grace-Hallelujah Father and King JESUS
I can see why maybe some thought from Keiths opening remark that he was arrogant for asking the applause to be held off. But actually Keith was not trying to have the focus be on him but on the message. Keith was troubled by popularity or commercialisation of his music. He actully created his own record lablel once and offered his music for what one could afford or for free. Once I got an album for free or next to noting when I was broke. I belive there is a life story of Keith Green on video
Seems like Keith had a dislike for clapping during his music in general. I recently watched the clip of him singing "So You Wanna Go Back to Egypt" and he makes a similar (semi-kidding) request about not clapping during that song. Is say "semi-kidding" but methinks there is a hint of genuine pique in his jibe. Some musicians really dislike any percussion -- I suppose that would include hand clapping -- unless it is on stage with them and part of the formal performance.
@ThankYaPetra Even if it was an arrogant comment, that's okay. Because Keith was just a man, susceptible to mistakes as we all are. I'd imagine he'd be the first to admit it in himself and among the first to forgive it in others. I don't think it's an unholy abomination for him to display a little 'tude :)
We must be emptied(by many trials and much affliction) of ourselves to let God use us the way He wants. If one doesn't believe, they can't blame it on man. They have themselves to blame because God has revealed Himself to everyone but because they wanted to live life their own way they rejected God from their knowledge(Romans).
Brant--I've been reading your comments. God bless you--and I know He has. Don't worry about what people will say about your mental illness--God will use it for His glory. We need to be broken in ourselves in order for the Lord to become strong in us. The gifts and callings of God are irrevocable as the Bible says. That means God gives believers gifts but they are like babies without the maturity to use them properly.
I agree with Krisses...she is right in every since of the word. What if you die...and you find out that you were wrong? You open your eyes in flames...you're burning to a crisp, you are in total darkness being tormented without night or day...forever and ever...are you REALLY willing to risk THAT because of your selfish beliefs or are you willing to risk taking a chance serving Christ and dying in peace...If you believe it's true or not...even if i WASNT sure i'd go with serving the Lord
Yeah and so, this is meant to say what exactly? threats etc may have worked on you but wont work on most sensible people. Now you say its not a threat, but it actually is more of a fear tactic. No evidence for hell also sorry.
I have already believed such things in my life. Its clearly ridiculous.
even if you were not sure you will keep on believing? Well that says a lot right there, that even you are willing to follow a direction DESPITE truth. doesn't make you too trustworthy sorry
Actually I agree with you on that one. most Christians do not seem to even bother reading their bibles or at least pay attention.
Actually even if hell is real, telling people about it is still a fear tactic, however in the neutral sense. basically it would be telling people the truth, so as to give a realistic fear. the question of course still would remain as to whether its true or not.
And to think he's in Heaven doing the same thing he took the greatest pleasure in during his living days- praising God! He left us tragically but he is now in heaven, just like Rich Mullins!
He probably asked them to stop clapping because the audience would never have been able to keep the proper timing. It seemed like he was pretty kind about it.
In one of his other recordings he said something like "don't clap, because I know there's this old lady in de audience that can't hear the lyrics if you clap"
Keith green was so awesome. Even now while an atheist I can feel his heart. He was so giving, and a good example of the great human 'spirit'/ except for his belifs in the biblical god s reality.
reality contradicts christian theology. No good reason to believe in a god. I spent most my life truly believing, even thinking that i KNEW it was true. But with much observation and thought i can see quite clearly now that its all untrue. Sure some of it sounds nice, but me being a multi billionaire sounds nice also. When it comes to truth thats another story
I'm sorry, my friend, but I can't help but sincerely wonder if you are blind. Look around you. How can you believe that photosynthesis "just occurred" on it's own? Can you really think that everything just evolved on their own by some explosion that came from "nothing"? How could this world, as cruel and wretched as it is, possibly exist or come about without some higher power? There is a God my friend, why did you stop believing?
I dont have any beliefs concerning photosynthesis, i am not a scientist. I dont believe everything came from nothing, I have no idea about such things. I am no evolutionary biologist, I know off little about evolution. I know off no 'higher power'. I do however KNOW there is no personal God, and I KNOW Christianity is false. A basic observation of the world around me, sincere heart and intellectual honesty reveals this.
You don't have to be a scientist to recognize that the world and everything in it had to have been made by a creative and loving God. I agree that a lot of "Christians" have messed up a lot and there are probably a lot of flaws in what most of them believe. However that doesn't excuse the fact that there IS a God who loves everyone equally and wants to be there for everyone if we would only let him. God is there, it's our own personal choice to love Him back or not.
But it is personal choice. God is there whether you want to believe in Him or not. And in the end, the situation will be the same no matter what we want to think. It's every individual's choice to accept Christ and believe, or to reject his love for you. It doesn't matter what's going on throughout your life, because God still loves you the same, which is more that anyone can imagine.
The bottom line is, if you accept God's free gift of love, then you get to have eternal life, if you don't, then you won't get to have all of the awesomeness that is in store... and you go to hell, which would suck beyond comprehension. Personally, I have to ask, why not believe? "If" this whole "God thing" is true, and you do accept Christ, you go to Heaven; if it turns out that God is not real, then the end would be the same as if you didn't believe in the first place.
But if you don't accept, and God turns out to be true, then you have to live out eternity knowing that you could have been doing whatever you wanted to in Heaven, instead of being in the bad situation that you are in now. Confusing? Plan and simple. I would rather believe and be disappointed, then to not believe and regret everything.
there is no good reason to even believe a God (the christian one) even exist. There is no evidence. All there is is wishful thinking and nice christians. there are also nice hare krishnas
There is no evidence for a hell.
What you are suggesting is that I FAKE belief to get to heaven. If there is a God it must be smart enough to tell I would be lying. I dont choose to believe something. I dont believe due to there being no good reason nor evidence to support it. period
its not personal choice. reality is not decided upon by what you would like to believe to be true. You can believe in a god all you want and it wont change whether it exist or not. It is as you said. 'no matter what we think".
reality does not depend on our thoughts. What we think about reality does.
well, that can be argued :) If there is a God and he also created free will he cannot interfere too much in order for you to believe, elseway it wouldn't be belief but scientific proof. There is the bottle neck to faith. In order for God to reveal himself we have to seek. If we don't seek, we never find... does that make sense?
Already sought for more than 20 years. Knew it was true. fact is it isn't. thats why you get taught that you must have faith and no evidence. like any religion. Which is why we no longer incorporate Christian world view in the laws. Its a failure.
well, Nothing stopped me from seeking things, as a matter of fact I kept going. And in that pursuit I discovered that Christianity is unrealistic. Now of course you disagree, thats understood, I would have disagreed many years ago. I loved Keith greens music, and even now I still like it though I dont believe the overall message is in anyway credible. Miracles are just absurd. Everyone is filled with claims of miracles and of course I am expected to always believe without a shred of evidence.
you keep saying urealistic, but what do you mean by that?
As to miracles, i understand the difficulty in that. And eventhough i have witnessed some they don't form the basis of my belief. If they would and they would be scientifically explained where would my faith be then?
The only reason there is difficulty with miracles is because the evidence for them is always conveniently located out of sight. lol just like any other religions claims of a miraculous nature.
and of course as i told my christian friend of 20 years, miracles do not prove that what the person is saying is true. even Jesus said there will be some cast into 'hell' and they performed miracles. however a miracle itself, flies in the face of rational natural reality. No good reason o believe.
And I am pretty sure I know what constitutes your evidence that jesus is real. It would be something you cannot demonstrate to others. meaning its all subjective personal opinion. I know this, I had it myself.
i do however understand that even when a christian mentions hell, they are usually being sincere, unlike others who take it as an insult, I realize its just silly. Sincere just silly.
well not really subjective personal opinion. Would you say it is subjective personal opinion if a good friend of yours told you he saw Bono the other day? I think you take him for his word, so you believe what he says. In that sense christianity is passed along...
If a friend told me he saw Bono the other day, however he saw him in 'spirit' I would laugh at him and NOT believe him.
Also, if a friend told me that he saw Bono the other day (in the flesh), given that I understand he is not given over to self deception so easily etc. I could accept that. Of course i may still ask "really, are you sure it was him?'. not because i doubt everyone all the time, but because mistaken identity happens. How do i know this, because I make them too.
In the spirit would be weird indeed, afaik bono is still alive ;) but i get your point.
In the bible you get a lot of these witnesses, like in Luke, he's very precise in checking the facts and making sure he's got matching eyewitness reports. It's not some weird story handed down by a divine light or something, it is an eyewitness story trying to make sense of what happenend there and then. Someting divine interaction with the now.
Ahh finally. someone who listens to Keith Green and didn't become a wanker. Kudos buddy.
You know i have found a lot of moronic christians these last few years. some, I hate to say, were keith green fans. and there behaviour is atrocious towards non believers. I have had to ask them how they came away with such 'hatred' towards non believers from listening to Keiths music.
Its astounding at times.
Anyway, you sound not just like a nice guy, but a calm...wisdom seeking guy.
tnx m8, just trying to stay sane in this crazy world ;) And i know what you mean by moronic and hatred. How can jesus be more misunderstood?? It is people i'm most interested in and not in the first place what they believe. And i haven't been afraid to let go of my faith while seeking for truth. It eventually led me back to God coz i guess unlike you i found it to be the most logic and yet most unbelievable story of all :)
i agree that the underlining story in some instances of it are just great. Like the movie the passion of the christ. I can still imagine such a world. Of course Superman would be great also, however jesus and heaven would be much better.
Problem is whether its true or not.
I would prefer very simple answers like a child. and I found that even my kids found the whole thing stupid. Which really sucked at first. but then I saw their point. That doesn't mean there is no god at all.
imagining is a great proof of concept imo. Just as suffering. Why is there suffering in this world? The longing for redemption and salvation.. a safe world? I think we have a hint of how it is supposed to be but not how it is right now. If this was all just coincidence and survival of the fittest this would not make sense. I think ik get why your kids think it it stupid, it all sounds like a fairytale with a happy end... shame though coz kids are the ones who can teach us how to dream :)
" Why is there suffering in this world?",... because there is no god, and life is just natural shit going on.
We long for a safe world because we are mentally healthy. Why would we want a crappier world?
'survival of the fittest' is about the genes, not the species. Anyway, the facts of the world reveal it to be this way. You live , and one day you die. Its been going on for a while apparently. lol
I dont really want to spend my life dreaming. and kids see the world as it is, until we mess it
@cjunk351 I get what you are saying about moronic Christians and how they act. However:
1) There are a lot of people claiming to be Christians but are really not.
2) True Christians can go a little over board because of pure zeal.
3) If I tell you that if you walk in front of a train you would die a horrible death, am I being hateful? No, I am warning you to stay out of danger. When I tell you that you will go to hell if Jesus is not Lord in your life am I being hateful? No, I am stating a fact.
@AshJesusFollower1 continuation of post....and I am warning you of danger. Your kids might think that it is nuts because the grew up in a household that thought it was nuts. Try to go through the Bible logically and with an open mind. Ask God for guidance. If's he's not real then you've lost nothing. If God is real and you are truly praying for answers, Jesus will answer them. You've got nothing to lose and everything to gain.
@cjunk351 well a God putting people into Hell is God, weather you call him a monster or not. he created all this and if thats how he does it then thats how it is ok.weather we think its bad or not. at least he gave you a way to escape hell and that is the grace of Jesus Christ. and people are not perfect your never going to see a perfect Christian
@cjunk351 A God who does not allow hell is a monster. Would you allow murderers go unpunished? We all have done much more against a Holy God! We spite in His face every day yet He loved us so much He provided a way to save us from our ultimate punishment of hell through Jesus. I could not love or follow a God who would even allow one sin into heaven. Sinfulness must be punished - either we take the punishment (hell) or Jesus did resulting in salvation for us.
@AshJesusFollower1 WOW, you really a far gone. A God who does not make an eternal pit of fire to torture people in is a monster????? LOL, no wonder even christians do not take christianity all that seriously.
AshJesusFollower, you obviously are a young one....... I am 39 years old, been a strong believer till the age of 34........so strong infact I accidently became a non believer. .. You are being lied to little buddy.
@cjunk351 I am 22 years old and been a Christian since I was 8. It does make sence. Sin against an eternal God must have eternal consequesnces. We have to pay the sin we do. However Jesus paid the price. All we have to do is believe or His salvation doesn't cover us. Its not His fault if we go to hell since we rejected His salvation. Even if He didn't provide Salvation, God is totally justified in sending us all to hell.
@AshJesusFollower1 I asked jesus into my heart when i was 8 years old. Meant it also. Done it on my own, of my own free will. believed it till the age of 34, in an attempt to be a much more effective witness for the lord.
Your religion only makes sense to people within that religion.
You have no good reason to believe in hell, satan, angels, demons, Jesus, heaven, god, miracles, etc etc. they are just mere beliefs only
@cjunk351 How can you be an effective witness for the Lord if you rejected Him at 34? How can you do anything for the Lord if you reject Jesus? Jesus IS Lord.
@cjunk351 I was just confused. This is what you said, "believed it till the age of 34, in an attempt to be a much more effective witness for the lord." Why did you stop "believing"? If you truly knew the Lord, it is impossible to no longer believe in Him. It's like us meeting together face-to-face and then I later say that you don't exist. I know what you are thinking. "You can't have a face-to-face encounter with God." Every Christian has 1 to many encounters with God that are life-changing.
@cjunk351 ...It doesn't have to be face-to-face encounters with God though that would be great. God lets you know that He is real. Faith originates from God not us. We have no power to believe anything of Him. He gives that power. The faith I have in Him is because He first gave me the strength to have it. God doesn't abandon us. We love Him because He first loved us. God will draw near to us if we draw near to Him and He gives us the power to do just that. My sinful nature would never want that
@AshJesusFollower1 All you have been doing is trying to convince. You havent stopped. I dont need evidence to say there is no God, I have no idea if there is one or not.....I know christianity is rubbish though, thats real easy to see.
@cjunk351 If it was so easy to see that it was rubbish then why did you "believe" it till you were 34? How is God paying the price for OUR sins when we deserve it AND then offering salvation (an eternal relationship with God that will be perfected when we get to heaven)? Yes it is hard to believe that God would do such a thing for hideous creatures as ourselves but that doesn't make it any less true. How amazing God is!
@AshJesusFollower1 Because i was young and impressionable when people taught it was all true. also they hijack other things. they turn imagination into spiritual etc. difficult to get through from that position, but quite easy to see once the smoke clears from the mind. My kids can see quite easily that there is no good reason to believe in magic powers of a god and so on.
@cjunk351 Then tell me. How are you alive? How so you have a mind that is different then any other mind? Why can you think about the afterlife? Is that evolution or something more? Can evolution give us emotions or even thoughts? What makes us alive? Why do you love your children? How is it that a mother can forgive the person that murdered her son (read that in a news article long ago)? It is impossible for me to believe that we just appeared and have all these attributes with out God.
To be a little more specific...... There is no difference to believing any of its true, to believing Hinduism is true etc. so then it became apparent that no one knows crap about such things, including myself. Of course there is also , no matter how serious I was about obeying and following, there was never any encouragment directly from a God. All a testimony to his absence, showing it was quite simple..... he does not exist.

Whty don't you guys be a Keith Green instead hoping for another one.

lol people need to listen to the song and stop talking/typing.
Amberoniii 6 months ago
@Amberoniii I'm sorry guy, I was just going to let your comment slide, but you know, I kind of identify with this Keith Green. We've had the same questions, we both want to stand up for what is right in the scriptures, and by the scriptures ONLY. And I'm not trying to make myself out to be special, but Amberonii, DON"T YOU WANT TO BE SOMEBODY LIKE KEITH GREEN????
wiseguymaybe 6 months ago
@Amberoniii When some body says that Keith Green wasn't Jewish but a Christian, doesn't that make you mad!!! The scriptures say that in Christ we are all Jewish, once again read Romans 2:28-29. You should be defending the scriptures. You know if you feel that we should just get fat on Keith Green's music, and forget the content of his message cause it just might cause trouble, then why do you bother looking at the comments.
wiseguymaybe 6 months ago
So let's just say that Keith was a jewish person physically, who went on a spiritual search for truth until he found his Hebrew heratage through Christ. That is, the jewish scriptures came alive in his heart in the Son of God.
wiseguymaybe 6 months ago
I would like to add one more thing to what I said 21 hrs ago, that wouldn't it be more fair to say that Kieth was a Jewish person who converted to Christinanity, that is he accepted, if you will, Jesus as his Messiah. But he didn't sease being Jewish. Paul states in Romans 2; 28-29 that a real jew is one circumcised from the heart, not from the flesh.

Dezarann 7 months ago
@Dezarann So Christ was not Jewish? Not trying to start any trouble, but this Keith Green, who from my studies of him, seemed more authintic than other famous "christian leaders" out there. And he himself said that Christ, which means in Hebrew, Messiah, truely lived in his heart. So wouldn't you say the that the most Jewish person of all live in his heart, since Christ said He was the Jewish I Am? Not to mention that Christ Himself taught Jewish beliefs, not Protesism or Catholosism.
wiseguymaybe 6 months ago
@Dezarann In truth, there is NO DIFFERENCE between what Moses taught and what Christ taught. If I remember my scriptures, the Messiah is the fufillment of what Moses taught. So in truth, there is no diffrerence between TRUE Christianity and TRUE Judiaism. They're both one.

@harald144 what?
MrDonneiDarko 6 months ago
@harald144 Really? Thousands in Europe play Keith Green's music? We American believers have no idea about the body of Christ in Europe. All we know is the cathedrals are empty. Where are our brethren in Europe, and what are they doing? Where are they still gathering? We don't hear from them. We don't get books or music from them...nothing. How can we pray for them?
1robinsong 3 months ago
@1robinsong I this the american way of life to have such prejudices and to be so arrogant and ignorant opposite to non american people? Yes, in some european countries are some of the great churches less attended, but there exist so many other churches, for example the baptist churches, which are high frequented. Many of the european christian have got to know and learned to appreciate the CCM. I still love the music from 2nd Chapter of Acts, they are very popular in Europe. So it is, brother!
Mscourage07 3 months ago in playlist Keith Green Live

Mscourage07 3 months ago
@1robinsong ... his name is Xavier Naidoo and his band called "Söhne Mannheims". Some of his songs are translated in english or have english passages. In Germany he is very popular and well known as a very critical but deep believing person. I like him very much just as his sincerity. Greetings from Germany.
Mscourage07 3 months ago

ThankYaPetra 2 years ago
I can see why maybe some thought from Keiths opening remark that he was arrogant for asking the applause to be held off. But actually Keith was not trying to have the focus be on him but on the message. Keith was troubled by popularity or commercialisation of his music. He actully created his own record lablel once and offered his music for what one could afford or for free. Once I got an album for free or next to noting when I was broke. I belive there is a life story of Keith Green on video
ThankYaPetra 2 years ago 42
correct :) His lifestory can also be found on my channel
monum 2 years ago 9
Seems like Keith had a dislike for clapping during his music in general. I recently watched the clip of him singing "So You Wanna Go Back to Egypt" and he makes a similar (semi-kidding) request about not clapping during that song. Is say "semi-kidding" but methinks there is a hint of genuine pique in his jibe. Some musicians really dislike any percussion -- I suppose that would include hand clapping -- unless it is on stage with them and part of the formal performance.
sjplwc 2 years ago
When people are clapping it shows that they're not really listening to what the lyrics are saying.
pazzensutra 2 years ago 3
@ThankYaPetra Even if it was an arrogant comment, that's okay. Because Keith was just a man, susceptible to mistakes as we all are. I'd imagine he'd be the first to admit it in himself and among the first to forgive it in others. I don't think it's an unholy abomination for him to display a little 'tude :)
bruhe 1 year ago
We must be emptied(by many trials and much affliction) of ourselves to let God use us the way He wants. If one doesn't believe, they can't blame it on man. They have themselves to blame because God has revealed Himself to everyone but because they wanted to live life their own way they rejected God from their knowledge(Romans).
levicah 2 years ago
Brant--I've been reading your comments. God bless you--and I know He has. Don't worry about what people will say about your mental illness--God will use it for His glory. We need to be broken in ourselves in order for the Lord to become strong in us. The gifts and callings of God are irrevocable as the Bible says. That means God gives believers gifts but they are like babies without the maturity to use them properly.

Well that says a lot right there, that even you are willing to follow a direction DESPITE truth. doesn't make you too trustworthy sorry
cjunk351 2 years ago
i agree with you on the fear tactic, will not go there... nor did jesus
monum 2 years ago
Actually I agree with you on that one. most Christians do not seem to even bother reading their bibles or at least pay attention.
Actually even if hell is real, telling people about it is still a fear tactic, however in the neutral sense. basically it would be telling people the truth, so as to give a realistic fear. the question of course still would remain as to whether its true or not.

He was the way he was because of his belief in the Biblical God, Yahweh. Ask anyone who knew him before he became a Christian.
metaljaybird 2 years ago
What has made you decide to be an atheist if I may ask?
Valthecatlover 2 years ago
reality contradicts christian theology. No good reason to believe in a god. I spent most my life truly believing, even thinking that i KNEW it was true. But with much observation and thought i can see quite clearly now that its all untrue. Sure some of it sounds nice, but me being a multi billionaire sounds nice also. When it comes to truth thats another story
cjunk351 2 years ago
I'm sorry, my friend, but I can't help but sincerely wonder if you are blind. Look around you. How can you believe that photosynthesis "just occurred" on it's own? Can you really think that everything just evolved on their own by some explosion that came from "nothing"? How could this world, as cruel and wretched as it is, possibly exist or come about without some higher power? There is a God my friend, why did you stop believing?
krisseskisses 2 years ago
I dont have any beliefs concerning photosynthesis, i am not a scientist. I dont believe everything came from nothing, I have no idea about such things. I am no evolutionary biologist, I know off little about evolution. I know off no 'higher power'. I do however KNOW there is no personal God, and I KNOW Christianity is false. A basic observation of the world around me, sincere heart and intellectual honesty reveals this.
cjunk351 2 years ago
How do you know?
You don't have to be a scientist to recognize that the world and everything in it had to have been made by a creative and loving God. I agree that a lot of "Christians" have messed up a lot and there are probably a lot of flaws in what most of them believe. However that doesn't excuse the fact that there IS a God who loves everyone equally and wants to be there for everyone if we would only let him. God is there, it's our own personal choice to love Him back or not.
krisseskisses 2 years ago
I know from a basic observation of reality, christian claims about reality.
I am no scientist and I am no God, so when you ask me where did it all come from I can honestly say I do not KNOW.
Existence in no way SCREAMS a God or 17 gods or 100 gods or no gods.
Christianity itself is rubbish, I dont care about christians. i dont judge it by the followers.
Its not personal choice to believe or reject, there simply is no good reason to believe in such a thing.
cjunk351 2 years ago
But it is personal choice. God is there whether you want to believe in Him or not. And in the end, the situation will be the same no matter what we want to think. It's every individual's choice to accept Christ and believe, or to reject his love for you. It doesn't matter what's going on throughout your life, because God still loves you the same, which is more that anyone can imagine.
krisseskisses 2 years ago
The bottom line is, if you accept God's free gift of love, then you get to have eternal life, if you don't, then you won't get to have all of the awesomeness that is in store... and you go to hell, which would suck beyond comprehension. Personally, I have to ask, why not believe? "If" this whole "God thing" is true, and you do accept Christ, you go to Heaven; if it turns out that God is not real, then the end would be the same as if you didn't believe in the first place.
krisseskisses 2 years ago
But if you don't accept, and God turns out to be true, then you have to live out eternity knowing that you could have been doing whatever you wanted to in Heaven, instead of being in the bad situation that you are in now. Confusing? Plan and simple. I would rather believe and be disappointed, then to not believe and regret everything.
krisseskisses 2 years ago
there is no good reason to even believe a God (the christian one) even exist.
I dont believe due to there being no good reason nor evidence to support it. period
cjunk351 2 years ago
its not personal choice. reality is not decided upon by what you would like to believe to be true. You can believe in a god all you want and it wont change whether it exist or not. It is as you said. 'no matter what we think".
reality does not depend on our thoughts. What we think about reality does.
cjunk351 2 years ago
well, that can be argued :) If there is a God and he also created free will he cannot interfere too much in order for you to believe, elseway it wouldn't be belief but scientific proof. There is the bottle neck to faith. In order for God to reveal himself we have to seek. If we don't seek, we never find... does that make sense?
monum 2 years ago
Already sought for more than 20 years. Knew it was true. fact is it isn't. thats why you get taught that you must have faith and no evidence. like any religion. Which is why we no longer incorporate Christian world view in the laws. Its a failure.
cjunk351 2 years ago
what made you turn and stop seeking?
monum 2 years ago
well, Nothing stopped me from seeking things, as a matter of fact I kept going. And in that pursuit I discovered that Christianity is unrealistic. Now of course you disagree, thats understood, I would have disagreed many years ago. I loved Keith greens music, and even now I still like it though I dont believe the overall message is in anyway credible. Miracles are just absurd. Everyone is filled with claims of miracles and of course I am expected to always believe without a shred of evidence.
cjunk351 2 years ago
you keep saying urealistic, but what do you mean by that?
As to miracles, i understand the difficulty in that. And eventhough i have witnessed some they don't form the basis of my belief. If they would and they would be scientifically explained where would my faith be then?
monum 2 years ago
The only reason there is difficulty with miracles is because the evidence for them is always conveniently located out of sight. lol just like any other religions claims of a miraculous nature.
and of course as i told my christian friend of 20 years, miracles do not prove that what the person is saying is true. even Jesus said there will be some cast into 'hell' and they performed miracles. however a miracle itself, flies in the face of rational natural reality. No good reason o believe.
cjunk351 2 years ago
And I am pretty sure I know what constitutes your evidence that jesus is real. It would be something you cannot demonstrate to others. meaning its all subjective personal opinion. I know this, I had it myself.
i do however understand that even when a christian mentions hell, they are usually being sincere, unlike others who take it as an insult, I realize its just silly. Sincere just silly.
cjunk351 2 years ago
well not really subjective personal opinion. Would you say it is subjective personal opinion if a good friend of yours told you he saw Bono the other day? I think you take him for his word, so you believe what he says. In that sense christianity is passed along...
monum 2 years ago
If a friend told me he saw Bono the other day, however he saw him in 'spirit' I would laugh at him and NOT believe him.
Also, if a friend told me that he saw Bono the other day (in the flesh), given that I understand he is not given over to self deception so easily etc. I could accept that. Of course i may still ask "really, are you sure it was him?'. not because i doubt everyone all the time, but because mistaken identity happens. How do i know this, because I make them too.
cjunk351 2 years ago
In the spirit would be weird indeed, afaik bono is still alive ;) but i get your point.
In the bible you get a lot of these witnesses, like in Luke, he's very precise in checking the facts and making sure he's got matching eyewitness reports. It's not some weird story handed down by a divine light or something, it is an eyewitness story trying to make sense of what happenend there and then. Someting divine interaction with the now.
monum 2 years ago
Ahh finally. someone who listens to Keith Green and didn't become a wanker. Kudos buddy.
You know i have found a lot of moronic christians these last few years. some, I hate to say, were keith green fans. and there behaviour is atrocious towards non believers. I have had to ask them how they came away with such 'hatred' towards non believers from listening to Keiths music.
Its astounding at times.
Anyway, you sound not just like a nice guy, but a calm...wisdom seeking guy.
well done

tnx m8, just trying to stay sane in this crazy world ;) And i know what you mean by moronic and hatred.

That doesn't mean there is no god at all.
cjunk351 2 years ago
imagining is a great proof of concept imo. Just as suffering. Why is there suffering in this world? The longing for redemption and salvation.. a safe world? I think we have a hint of how it is supposed to be but not how it is right now. If this was all just coincidence and survival of the fittest this would not make sense. I think ik get why your kids think it it stupid, it all sounds like a fairytale with a happy end... shame though coz kids are the ones who can teach us how to dream :)
monum 2 years ago

AshJesusFollower1 1 year ago
@AshJesusFollower1 continuation of post....and I am warning you of danger. Your kids might think that it is nuts because the grew up in a household that thought it was nuts. Try to go through the Bible logically and with an open mind. Ask God for guidance. If's he's not real then you've lost nothing. If God is real and you are truly praying for answers, Jesus will answer them. You've got nothing to lose and everything to gain.

@AshJesusFollower1
Howdy, I have met many nice christians also.
Anyway, I dont believe due to not good reason to believe and no evidence to believe.
It has nothing to do with who is naughty and nice for me.
Naughty christians is just the beginning that something is wrong.
There isnt any good reason to believe that a hell exist., also a god putting people into a hell sounds like a monster.
cjunk351 1 year ago
@cjunk351 well a God putting people into Hell is God, weather you call him a monster or not. he created all this and if thats how he does it then thats how it is ok.weather we think its bad or not. at least he gave you a way to escape hell and that is the grace of Jesus Christ. and people are not perfect your never going to see a perfect Christian
TheLegendry1 1 year ago
@TheLegendry1 By the sounds of it you agree.
Anyway, where is the evidence or good reason to believe hell exists???
And newsflash, you are not going to find a perfect human anyway.......thats life.
So why should anyone believe a single thing about christianity??
cjunk351 1 year ago
@cjunk351 A God who does not allow hell is a monster. Would you allow murderers go unpunished? We all have done much more against a Holy God! We spite in His face every day yet He loved us so much He provided a way to save us from our ultimate punishment of hell through Jesus. I could not love or follow a God who would even allow one sin into heaven. Sinfulness must be punished - either we take the punishment (hell) or Jesus did resulting in salvation for us.
AshJesusFollower1 1 year ago
@AshJesusFollower1 WOW, you really a far gone. A God who does not make an eternal pit of fire to torture people in is a monster????? LOL, no wonder even christians do not take christianity all that seriously.
AshJesusFollower, you obviously are a young one....... I am 39 years old, been a strong believer till the age of 34........so strong infact I accidently became a non believer. .. You are being lied to little buddy.
peace
cjunk351 1 year ago
@cjunk351 I am 22 years old and been a Christian since I was 8. It does make sence. Sin against an eternal God must have eternal consequesnces. We have to pay the sin we do. However Jesus paid the price. All we have to do is believe or His salvation doesn't cover us. Its not His fault if we go to hell since we rejected His salvation. Even if He didn't provide Salvation, God is totally justified in sending us all to hell.
AshJesusFollower1 1 year ago
@AshJesusFollower1 I asked jesus into my heart when i was 8 years old. Meant it also. Done it on my own, of my own free will. believed it till the age of 34, in an attempt to be a much more effective witness for the lord.
Your religion only makes sense to people within that religion.
You have no good reason to believe in hell, satan, angels, demons, Jesus, heaven, god, miracles, etc etc. they are just mere beliefs only
cjunk351 1 year ago
@cjunk351 How can you be an effective witness for the Lord if you rejected Him at 34? How can you do anything for the Lord if you reject Jesus? Jesus IS Lord.
AshJesusFollower1 1 year ago
@AshJesusFollower1 well of course you cannot be an effective witness if you no longer believe the fairy tale of it.

AshJesusFollower1 1 year ago
@cjunk351 ...It doesn't have to be face-to-face encounters with God though that would be great. God lets you know that He is real. Faith originates from God not us. We have no power to believe anything of Him. He gives that power. The faith I have in Him is because He first gave me the strength to have it. God doesn't abandon us. We love Him because He first loved us. God will draw near to us if we draw near to Him and He gives us the power to do just that. My sinful nature would never want that
AshJesusFollower1 1 year ago
@AshJesusFollower1 If faith comes from God why do you waste your time trying to convince others??? Leave it to your god then.
there isnt any good reason to even believe there is a god.
cjunk351 1 year ago
@cjunk351 I can inform others but I can't "convince" others. God gives us the faith to believe in Him, but He won't force us. We have free will.
Why do think there isn't a good reason to believe in God?
AshJesusFollower1 1 year ago
@AshJesusFollower1 You are trying to convince right now....
There is no good reason to believe in a God because there is no God......simple
cjunk351 1 year ago
@cjunk351 I am not trying to convince anyone of anything. I can't make you believe. We are just talking.
How are you so sure that there is no God? What evidence do you have that He doesn't exist?
AshJesusFollower1 1 year ago
@AshJesusFollower1 All you have been doing is trying to convince. You havent stopped. I dont need evidence to say there is no God, I have no idea if there is one or not.....I know christianity is rubbish though, thats real easy to see.
cjunk351 1 year ago
@cjunk351 If it was so easy to see that it was rubbish then why did you "believe" it till you were 34? How is God paying the price for OUR sins when we deserve it AND then offering salvation (an eternal relationship with God that will be perfected when we get to heaven)? Yes it is hard to believe that God would do such a thing for hideous creatures as ourselves but that doesn't make it any less true. How amazing God is!
AshJesusFollower1 1 year ago
@AshJesusFollower1 Because i was young and impressionable when people taught it was all true. also they hijack other things. they turn imagination into spiritual etc. difficult to get through from that position, but quite easy to see once the smoke clears from the mind. My kids can see quite easily that there is no good reason to believe in magic powers of a god and so on.
cjunk351 1 year ago
@cjunk351 Then tell me. How are you alive? How so you have a mind that is different then any other mind? Why can you think about the afterlife? Is that evolution or something more? Can evolution give us emotions or even thoughts? What makes us alive? Why do you love your children? How is it that a mother can forgive the person that murdered her son (read that in a news article long ago)? It is impossible for me to believe that we just appeared and have all these attributes with out God.
AshJesusFollower1 1 year ago
@AshJesusFollower1 I am alive because my mum and dad had sex.
I can think about an afterlife because I have an imagination. I can also think of invisible unicorns.
I have no idea what makes us alive.
who said i love my children?? The little bastards. LOL
I dont believe we 'just appeared'.....i accept neither one of us knows.
cjunk351 1 year ago
@cjunk351 Why do you have an imagination? How does a sperm and egg make a baby - a life with an imagination and thoughts? What controls that?
Tell me, what were some of the main points that made you not believe in Jesus anymore? Maybe we can talk about it.
AshJesusFollower1 1 year ago
@AshJesusFollower1
"Why do you have an imagination?".........i have no idea.
"How does a sperm and egg make a baby "........ have no idea
"What controls that?"........ have no idea.
I have no idea the same as you have no idea about such things.
---
the main points where a) No good reason to believe any of it was true any longer. that pretty much sums it up
cjunk351 1 year ago
@AshJesusFollower1
